Hiring Dhalia Events was one of the best decisions we made when we were planning our wedding. I am skeptical of the wedding industry in general, but I am convinced that wedding coordinators like Deliece and Melissa are skilled, experienced professionals in a niche field who can make a huge difference in the quality of your experience. And what's the point if you don't get to enjoy your wedding experience? Here are some specific things that Deliece and Melissa did that were super-helpful on the day of: 1) I couldn't find the body tape I had bought, but they had some on hand. 2) I needed to stay hydrated after I got my makeup done, so they provided straws so I could drink without messing up my lipstick. 3) The groom's vest had fallen to the bottom of his garment bag after we dry cleaned it, but they had a portable steamer and were able to get the wrinkles out. 4) They arranged a tent for our DJ for the ceremony, which was outdoors, when they discovered at the last minute that the contract required a tent rain-or-shine. 5) They made sure we ate dinner (and dessert). 6) They made sure waitstaff were replacing our drinks at regular intervals during the reception. 7) They brought a handheld portable fan, which was a lifesaver since it was more than 90 degrees outside. 8) They provided transportation around the property, which was a vineyard that wasn't very walkable in my nice shoes. 9) A friend left something in their car by accident at the end of the night, and they arranged to mail it to her a few days later. All of these things were nice surprises. It's not like we asked them to bring straws, it didn't even occur to us that we'd need them. But Deliece and Melissa brought them anyway because this is their job and they know what they're doing. They were PREPARED. I also want to note that I did not buy full wedding planning services from them, just month-of coordination, but they never treated me like a less important client. There were cases in the months leading up to the wedding where I asked them for help that was actually outside the scope of services we had agreed on, and they were very professional in letting me know that it wasn't included in my package. I appreciate that they enforced their boundaries so politely and respectfully-- I like that in a person. Overall, I can't recommend Dhalia Events highly enough.

Charissa is an excellent planner and coordinator! I started working with her with our venue booked, but pretty much no other vision or idea of how I wanted our wedding to be. She was patient, provided suggestions and recommended excellent vendors to help it all come together, and was also on top of all vendor communications. It was also super easy to schedule time and get in touch with her throughout the whole process (15 months of planning!), even if it was just for 10-minute call to touch base on random questions that we had. She, Kevin and Melissa also did an excellent job coordinating day-of and making sure everything was set up, cleaned up, and ran smoothly. She was also available throughout the day (and into the winddown at night!) to answer any questions that came up. Having Charissa and her team really removed so much stress from wedding planning and the wedding day. Highly recommended!

There were too many moving parts, too many emails, too many things to follow up on and just NO time between work and life to handle it all. Kris calmly talked me through things to figure out where I was at, what my vision was and what was left to do. I really would not have gotten through that last month, or even the day of, without her. She took over setup of my DIY photo booth and this balcony space I just didn't know what to do with. Kris made that space and photo booth such an oasis, just what I wanted! Her inventory of props and creative experience created such a fun glow-up and relieved such a big burden from my shoulders. Kris is organized, communicative and just so much fun to talk to. She took charge of my vendors and communicated with my venue seamlessly. She worked hand-in-hand with the venue coordinator on such short notice and I really, really can't thank her enough. The day my wife and I got engaged, we knew after family and friends our first call had to be to Katie O after experiencing my sisters unbelievable wedding that Katie and her team helped plan back in 2017. At that time, we had a rough idea of all the services they provided, but once we got started working with Katie directly, we were almost overwhelmed by everything they did and how they had it down to a science. Working with Katie, having our monthly Zoom calls and all other communication we had with her was an absolute pleasure. She is easily one of the nicest people we have ever met and at the same time, when it's time for business, nobody takes it more seriously. One of the many things we love about her is that while she plans tons of weddings, she still helped make our wedding unique and special to us. Katie always wanted our thoughts and opinions on every decision, but always had ideas of her own in case we needed them and always steered us in the right direction. Katie and her team are extremely talented. As we got closer to the wedding day, we were so confident with the decisions we had made under Katie's guidance and that everything would go perfectly that the day of, our biggest worry was that we would mess up the choreography to our first dance. Even so, Katie was by our side the entire day making sure everything was running smoothly. Overall, I cannot recommend Katie O highly enough. Our wedding could not have gone more perfectly, and that doesn't happen without the time and effort that Katie and her team put in.

We wouldn’t have made it down the aisle without Sarah! If you are planning a wedding, she is a resource you can’t go without if you want a stress-free, anxiety-free wedding where YOU get to enjoy the day as much as your guests. My now husband and I hired Sarah to help us pull off the two day wedding weekend of our dreams and she nailed it. Our vision was not traditional - we wanted a private family only ceremony followed by an intimate wedding dinner at our favorite restaurant and the next day - a NYE party that would be nothing short of unforgettable. When we first met with Sarah, we knew what we had in our minds but barely had any of the pieces to make it happen. She gave us direction, a to do list, and deadlines which helped us complete what we needed to on time and truly enjoy the weeks leading up to the wedding - knowing we were in the best hands and had nothing to worry about. Sarah understood our vision from day one and helped us navigate how to pull it off from the linens to the lighting to managing each others’ soon to be in laws. She coordinated with every vendor, managed calls and decisions with them, and a load in and out schedule that for the days. Life threw us some curveballs in the weeks leading up to our wedding - a sudden loss of a family member, a job change, and a groom with a stomach bug days before the big day. But Sarah kept everything moving, we didn’t have to lift a finger. And because she was never worried, we were never worried. Her years of knowledge and expertise allow her to think of everything and ask questions you never even considered to create a schedule of events where no detail is left undecided or undiscussed. The two days were pulled off to absolute perfection and we got to enjoy every minute knowing Sarah was by our side and one step ahead of us at every moment. A few examples of Sarah’s superhero work: For our NYE party, we wanted the centerpieces to be candlelit - glass hurricanes, floating candles, confetti. Left to our own devices- it would have looked like a sloppy school project. Sarah understood what we wanted. Gave us a shopping list. And even leant us some of her own hurricanes and votives to create the final look - nothing short of spectacular. After make up on the wedding ceremony day, I realized that I needed to get the lipstick I was wearing to do touch ups- oh no! Forget about it, Sarah ran to Sephora while we did photos to get me exactly what I needed without so much as an ask. My cathedral length veil needed to be put in before the long walk down the aisle, everyone else was seated in the church. But Sarah was in the trunk of the SUV putting it neatly in my hair as I sat in the back seat of the car service (she advised we book which saved our lives). We had our NYE party at a hotel and Sarah worked directly with the hotel to create a floor plan that felt more NYE party then traditional seated dinner - mixing and matching table sizes, highs and lows, and her years of wedding and hotel expertise- she knew the exact questions to ask and the inventory that existed to push for. Weddings go by so fast - you have so much invested and you want to enjoy it. And because of Sarah, we could. We could talk, mingle, drink the champagne- because we had nothing to worry about. Sarah is a true professional and we’d recommend her to ANYONE ANYWHERE. You never know what life is going to throw your way, so be in good hands with Sarah for your big day.

It’s hard to know what the perfect wedding will look like ahead of time, and although we had some vague general ideas and a couple weirdly specific requests, we weren’t really sure about how it would all come together. Kate and Jen took the time to listen to us, giving us formal questions and plenty of their time to talk things out informally. It felt like they immediately got what we were saying and had ideas about how to make our wedding come to life. They were honest when they thought something might not work, and creative when we were trying to come up with solutions to an issue. All of that was so important because it could often feel really hard to plan a wedding while managing two busy careers and everything else in our lives, and it was so reassuring to know we had them making sure everything was on track. Their experience and their willingness to get to know us made everything come together that whole weekend in a way we’ll never forget. The best part about working with Kate and Jen is how much they clearly LOVE what they do, and truly feel invested in the couples that they are planning with. This really does not feel like just a job to them, and we felt so supported throughout by their warm and personal approach. We genuinely miss them so much already, and it's only been a month since our wedding.

We were told that hiring a planner for a wedding of our size was almost necessary, and thank God we did because we couldn’t have pulled off the incredible day we had without Brittany. After interviewing countless planners we seemed like we were getting nowhere, that is, until we had our first conversation with her. After hanging up the phone we knew she was the one for us. Her communication was excellent throughout the entire process, she constantly made herself available for us, her style matched ours perfectly, and I’m glad to say we gained a friend out of this. A day-of-coordinator is one of the last wedding vendors I considered, and working with Cindy made me wish I booked her right after getting engaged! Every step of the process working with Cindy demonstrated her professionalism, skill, and kindness. From our first consultation call, she immediately put me at ease and shared her own experience with weddings similar to ours. Throughout the planning process, she was highly accessible starting from the time we booked with her, striking the best balance of offering her perspective while encouraging us to make the decision that was best for us. She also offered invaluable insight such as recommending an excellent videographer who we were very happy with. Despite her busy schedule during peak wedding season, she always ensured that I, my now husband, and parents felt heard and received her full attention. The night before my wedding, a vendor reached out with a timing concern that would have led me to panic had it not been for Cindy, who solved the issue without my having to give it a second thought, leading to the ceremony entrance that my husband and I dreamed of. The day of my wedding, Cindy and Caroline immediately brought a sense of calm and joy when my bridesmaids and I were getting ready, and were on top of little wrinkles that arose in the plan, such as when a transportation vendor didn’t show up. I hadn’t realized that there would be so many wedding items to keep track of (vendor gratuities, favors, signs, toasting flutes, etc etc etc), but Cindy and Caroline ensured that all these things were set up correctly at the venue, and packed up at the end of the night. Overall, it is hard to imagine how the day would have gone without them. They were unquestionably an essential part of how we were able to enjoy some calm and lots of fun during our wedding day, and we are so grateful to them!

Nene and team were amazing. Amazing. I could write an entire book on how helpful they were before and during the wedding. Nene was our Day of Coordinator and helped us stay on track throughout the entire event. We put together a backyard wedding and Nene helped us to put together an entire schedule for the day. She became the point in contact of all of our vendors, and she helped control the flow of the crowd during this event. Where Nene shines is that everything I said Nene took control of unprompted. She never needed any direction and most of the time gave us ideas we did not initially think of. We were so lucky to have Nene on our side. She made our day special.

Excellent news: your search for a wedding planner and coordinator is over. Hire Venture North Events! They are the best! Kim and CJ are the perfect mix of detail-oriented, thoughtful, creative, and cool under pressure. We hired them for full planning for our wedding weekend at Eastwind Hotel in Windham in June 2023. We started working with them a year before, and they were deeply engaged the entire time. Our wedding was a full weekend (3 days and three events), with lots of different moving parts and activities. Everything was outdoors. We had to bring in and set up a lot of stuff. Not only were they exceptional at knowing and implementing logistics (sound, lighting, rentals, decor, rain plans), they always made sure that the events reflected our personal vision and intentions. The planning process itself was made immensely fun working with them. Because of their expertise, we were able to focus on the creative stuff. We crafted what we hoped the weekend would look like together, planning over calls and the super organized planning spreadsheets Kim and CJ have created. Their systems kept us on track, and we (and our guests!) appreciated how well organized and executed everything was! On Saturday, we had lots of intermittent rain during outdoor events. Kim and CJ kept all our guests dry and happy, shifting schedules and logistics as needed. We were involved in these decisions but also trusted them completely, so were able to be fully present in the day with our guests. Kim’s timelines the day of the wedding ran impeccably; nothing felt rushed and she brought on top notch folks to work the wedding as day of staff. She has a deep knowledge of and relationships with various vendors in upstate New York, everyone was truly excellent. On top of it all, Kim and CJ were truly a joy to work with. Now a month out from the wedding, we are so grateful for how it all went! We miss them terribly! In sum, VNE gets our highest possible recommendation. Do yourself a favor and hire them, ASAP!
