While planning events for friends, family and within her activist community as a side hustle for over a decade, Kris has also been a nonprofit event coordinator, farmer, and music festival planner. Kris’ background gives her a unique perspective on each wedding she plans. a Leo with Taurus rising, ENFP, a Peacemaker, Vata-Pitta and she loves a good personality quiz a sucker for fashion, and likes to joke that she can smell a good consignment/vintage shop has a blood caffeine content of .8%, had a wedding Pinterest 8 years before she even met her husband, AND will do anything in her power to give you the wedding you want

While planning her own wedding, she struggled with being told what she could and could not do. She helps couples who want to break free from the wedding rules “cage” (unKAGed is a play on her initials as well as her approach to planning and design) and really showcase their personalities. Everything she does is to provide each unique couple with an exceptional experience from start to finish. She truly wants you to have the day you envision, and her job is to provide you with the resources and support to do just that.

    I don’t think I can truly explain or fit into a review how amazing Kris with unKAGed events is! We hired Kris because this was a destination wedding for us and we needed help with locating vendors and wanted to feel like we had someone that we could work with in the area that was familiar with the industry and able to coordinate day of for us. I had my initial call with Kris and immediately felt comfortable and listened to with any questions or concerns I had with planning. She offered us different vendors for catering, rentals, dj and cake. She setup up tastings and meetings with all vendors making sure we felt comfortable and confident with every vendor we went with. Kris went above and beyond being CCd on every email and on every call. She provided quick and accurate information throughout the planning process. We ran into issues with our venue along the way and Kris was right there beside us helping us and working through it. What can feel like the chaos of wedding planning we knew we could trust her and rely on her. When it came to day of as a bride it’s hard to feel like you don’t have full control over your day. However trusting Kris after working with her leading up to the big day I knew she was going to do all she could to bring my vision to life and make the best decisions for our wedding. She did just that! I can’t put into words how much she did for us - from all the work leading up, rehearsal, setting up ceremony site, setting up cocktail hour, setting up the reception tables and seating chart and then breaking it all down after - she truly does it all!! I knew I was hiring someone to help us along the way and for the day of our wedding what I didn’t know is I was hiring someone who would care about us the way she did.

    With a dual location wedding day, we were concerned about having everything right at the reception venue (coordinating vendors, decor, etc) while we were at the ceremony. As a type A bride, I really felt comfortable handing over the reins to Kris. She was attentive and asked questions about things I hadn’t even thought about. She made us feel comfortable and her bubbly personality let us be happy and excited about our special day. Kris is an absolutely dream to work with and allowed me to have a carefree wedding day. I didn’t have to worry about anything going wrong or right, she had it all covered. Not only was she extremely helpful to us and made sure we had the best day, but our closest loved ones also had nothing they had to worry about either. Kris made sure our parents were where they needed to be when they needed to be there and allowed them to have the best time ever as well.

    Kris was wonderful to work with start to finish. Based off the size of our families, we were initially struggling with the daunting task of navigating a large scale wedding while still making sure our number one priority of efficiency, seamlessness, and intentionality were maintained. We expressed these concerns to Kris early on and were met with understanding and confident guidance towards practical solutions. Kris knows the Hudson Valley very well. Working with someone who lives here and knows this areawas very important. Seeing Kris spring into action day of the wedding was wonderful. She was calm and collected but simultaneously leading the charge and making everything happen - we had not a worry in the world for the whole day and we are very thankful for that.

    TLDR: An attention to detail and indomitable spirit to make your wedding day feel like it's in the best of hands! Kris stepped in at the last minute to help me out and I couldn't have picked a better person to take over. The Deets: I finally reached out to Kris about a month before my wedding and I was just a total wreck. There were too many moving parts, too many emails, too many things to follow up on and just NO time between work and life to handle it all. Kris calmly talked me through things to figure out where I was at, what my vision was and what was left to do. I really would not have gotten through that last month, or even the day of, without her. She took over setup of my DIY photo booth and this balcony space I just didn't know what to do with. Kris made that space and photo booth such an oasis, just what I wanted! Her inventory of props and creative experience created such a fun glow-up and relieved such a big burden from my shoulders. Kris is organized, communicative and just so much fun to talk to. She took charge of my vendors and communicated with my venue seamlessly. She worked hand-in-hand with the venue coordinator on such short notice and I really, really can't thank her enough.
