Ryan began his wedding videography career in 2010 in Los Angeles and quickly became recognized as one of the top videographers in the U.S.. After relocating to DC and still receiving countless inquiries from all corners of the country, Ryan decided to recruit and train a few talented friends so he could continue offering the quality wedding videography he’s known for in SoCal and eventually over 10 cities. Hey there! Kataryna here. Thanks for checking out my work. I never thought that I would have the opportunity to meet you and everyone else that I have throughout my photography journey. I started photography in high school and fell in love with all that my camera and I could do. In my college years at the University of Iowa, I was able to strengthen my photography skills by taking an internship with a wedding company. Shortly after graduation, I moved back to the Chicago suburbs and began growing my business. A few years later, and I am extremely grateful for everything I have been able to accomplish. ​

I look at photography as a window into some of the most important moments in the lives of my clients. I love life and consider myself blessed to capture memories and the celebrations of milestones. Before I ever held a camera, as a kid I was obsessed with organizing and reorganizing printed family snapshots in albums. This infatuation with captured moments, led to picking out my first film camera, a 35mm Pentax, film developing and darkroom printing in high school, and then my BFA in Photography Degree. From there, I worked in varied sectors of photography, but my true passion lay in documentary work that could bring about awareness of challenging global situations. I have published and exhibited journalistic series internationally, notably at Oxford University and Aperture Foundation.

I photograph love because I believe in it. I don’t believe in it in the way that a little girl believes in ferries or unicorns, a hopeful “I think it is real” kind of a belief, I believe in its power. I believe that love is the most important emotion we will feel in this lifetime and I believe it has the greatest ability for good. I believe that each human on this earth should have the opportunity to feel deeply loved and to love another deeply themselves. I believe that love is something that should be treasured, cared for, and celebrated.

I’m the self-declared winner of “most likely to hear someone’s life story in unexpected places.” Whether it’s an antique shop owner telling me about her and her late husband’s favorite meal from their Italian vacation 40 years ago, or a fellow TJ Maxx customer recalling how she met her best friend of 17 years in a shared hospital room, I listen.
