If you want to relive your wedding day over and over again, BOOK CASSANDRA DAYE ! From the moment we booked with Cass, she became so much more than just our wedding photographer. She became a friend. She was a steady, calming, supportive presence throughout the entire planning process, someone we could lean on, reach out to, and even vent to when things felt overwhelming. Her energy was exactly what every couple needs during the chaos of wedding planning; grounding, reassuring, and genuinely caring. We had the best time during our engagement shoot with Cass. We had no idea what we were doing but she made it so easy and most importantly- FUN. The photos left us absolutely speechless. We always knew Cass was the right choice, but we could never have imagined just how beautifully, and how magically she would bring our memories to life! On the day of the wedding, I was so overwhelmed and she continued to bring me back down to earth with her calm presence and unwavering kindness and support. She and her team were iconic on the day and everyone had so much fun with them. When we received our wedding gallery, we were absolutely blown away. Every image felt ethereal—soft, emotional, timeless—and yet so true to who we are. Cass has this rare ability to capture raw emotion in a way that feels both effortless and deeply intentional. Cass didn’t just photograph our wedding, she preserved the heart of it. Looking through our pictures brought us right back to the day—the laughter, the nerves, the tears, the joy. She bottled up the feelings of our wedding in the most beautiful way, and we’re forever grateful. Cass isn’t just an incredibly talented photographer, she’s the kind of person you’re BLESSED to have beside you on your wedding day. We couldn’t recommend her more and absolutely love her.

Duet Photography & Video
Rating: 5.0 (88 reviews)
Westbury, NY

Hi there! We're the team behind Duet Photography & Video. We're a collection of wedding photographers, filmmakers, designers, and editors. We each have our own story of how we've come to be a part of this incredibly field of wedding journalism. As individual as we are, we're all bound by the same love for our craft – the artistry of blending documentary journalism with stunning, creative vision. With over a thousand weddings under our collective belts, we've photographed and filmed weddings of every shape and size imaginable. We can't wait to document your wedding as well!

Awarded Best of Zola
I can not stress enough how much I LOVED working with Duet. My husband and I aren't really pose for photos type of people but I still knew this would be the only thing I had from the day that would last a lifetime. They are so professional and truly captured the BEST candid photos. Of course we had a few posed photos but most of the day was them working around us which was amazing! One of my biggest pet peeves is a photographer stopping people from dancing to catch a group photo. I personally would rather take a photo of the group dancing. That's just my preference. Duet made sure to emphasize that they also do not want to ever “stop” our day for a photo. Communicating them was seamless and clear at all times. The photos came out STUNNING and our videos are absolutely wonderful.

Brooklyn, NY

I am a queer, New York City-based photographer documenting candid joy and human connection. Drawn to emotion and the beauty in everyday moments, I approach my work with mindfulness and intuition – balancing gentle guidance with an observational presence. What I value most about my job is the ability to connect with people and witness their stories unfold in raw, vulnerable ways. I hope that my work is a reflection of these moments: honest, emotive, and intentionally seen.

Awarded Best of Zola
Hiring Emma Melin Studios was a perfect process from booking through present day! My husband and I knew Emma was a great fit for our desired wedding day photos as soon as we completed our initial meeting. Emma knew exactly the style of photos we wanted and the feel we hoped would be captured from our special day. Day of, we had Emma’s two amazing associate shooters taking both digital and film photos — my husband and I could not believe what we saw.. Truly fun, emotional, energetic, and overall perfect photos from the most spectacular day of our lives. Emma’s timeliness in getting us wedding preview and our entire wedding galley was truly in lighting speed and we just cannot be more great for how perfect our day with family and friends was captured.

Christopher Duggan Photography

Bronx, NY

In the 20 years that I've been photographing professionally, I’ve honed my skill of knowing when to step in and make things happen, and when to step back and simply *allow* things to happen. Documenting the REAL emotion of the day is how we capture those picture-perfect moments. They happen organically, not by force, and I promise you: we're not going to miss ANY of them. = )

Awarded Best of Zola
We chose Christopher to photograph and videograph our sangeet celebration rather last minute as we were busy planning everything else, so it was quite a relief and so helpful to see how swiftly he communicated with us and delivered on such wonderful memories. Christopher was amazing to work with - as we had wanted, the posed photos were quick (yet came out incredible). We asked him to focus on the celebration and dancing and we couldn't be happier with how everything turned out. We highly recommend Christopher -- thank you for making our evening so special!!

Astoria, NY

Hey there! My name is Marilyn. I live in New York City with my sweet partner, and our orange cat Maple. I’m an introverted, soft-hearted mush with an insatiable need to document the beauty in life. Practicing self-portraits in middle school eventually led me to pursue my photography degree from New York University, and I have been joyfully creating photos of wedding days ever since. To me, weddings are a magical display of the human spirit. It’s my biggest honor and joy to create imagery that captures that human magic - especially in a way that breaks the boundaries of historically gendered traditions.

Awarded Best of Zola
Marilyn made the entire experience of finding a photographer for our special day seamless. She was responsive and flexible, and her pricing tiers allowed us to work within our budget. Day of, she was amazing. She made my husband and me feel super comfortable and at ease. The portraits of us are outstanding! She got amazing candids at our reception and blended in with the other guests, making it easy to capture off-the-cuff photos. 10/10, recommend for your wedding, engagement photos, etc!

Steven Rosen Photography

Brooklyn, NY
  • Fine art style
  • Starts at $2,500
  • Serves New York

I have been a photographer for the last 20 years, shooting weddings, elopements and portraits. I'm proud to have shot more than 150 same-sex weddings, which is probably more than, well, just about anyone. That said, I’ve worked with as many straight couples as LGBTQ ones. I don't discriminate. There are many other photographers whose work inspire me, but my primary inspiration comes from painters. Rembrandt, Vermeer, Sargent, to name a few.

Awarded Best of Zola
Having an LGBTQIA friendly wedding photographer was really important to us. Steven was the perfect choice. He was incredibly responsive, went above and beyond with answering our questions as we reviewed photographer options, did an incredible job day of navigating challenging weather, and delivered our final photos before we could even get back from our honeymoon. I would highly recommend him to any LGBTQIA couple getting married in the NYC metro area and/or anyone getting married in Central Park given his extensive experience photographing in the park.

Working with Rob Spring Photography was by far one of the best and easiest decisions we made for our wedding. From our first initial call with Rob, we could tell we were in good hands. We worked with Sarah as our photographer and within minutes of the first time meeting her at our engagement shoot, we were laughing and totally at ease - even with our little 8 pound dog along for the ride. On our wedding day, Sarah arrived with assistant Colton and instantly went to work making our day so special. We took photos all over the entire venue, laughing and joking around the whole time. The huge smiles on our faces in our photos are proof of how much fun we had. Our entire bridal party and both of our families couldn't stop raving about how professional and fun she was to work with. And then the photos we received blew our minds - they are more beautiful than we ever could've imagined. This will definitely not be the last time we work with Sarah and Rob Spring Photography. We could not recommend them enough!

We’re a husband-and-wife photography team capturing timeless weddings across New York City, New Jersey, and beyond. Awarded Best of Zola
Rebeca and Andrew are not just incredible photographers, but they are also wonderful people who make their clients feel so comfortable. Do not hesitate to book Andrew and Rebeca for your wedding or your next photographed event. My husband and I were joking around about how Andrew and Rebeca felt like our friends after sharing all our special moments together, photographing our engagement photos and our first look the day of the wedding. Rebeca and Andrew create a calm, down to earth, and joyful environment during their shoots. They did a fantastic job making us feel comfortable in front of the camera- we were so happy that we did an engagement shoot with them, they taught us some tips and tricks for posing in front of the camera, and so we were thrilled with how our wedding photos turned out a few months later. Additionally, Rebeca and Andrew are professional, ask a fair price for their incredible work, and are quick to respond to all emails and messages. They made us feel calm, confident, and well taken care of throughout the entire wedding planning process. On your wedding day, you are spending so much time running around, staying on schedule, socializing, etc. It can get really busy and overwhelming. So, we learned that some of the more quiet and intimate moments happen when you are being photographed at your first look or before your guests arrive at your venue. As a result, you don’t just want skillful photographers at your wedding, you want great people who you enjoy spending time with. Overall, we could not have been more happy working with Rebeca and Andrew- in fact, we will miss them! We definitely plan to keep them in mind if we ever need a professional photographer in the future.

(2) Yes, I will be out on that dance floor with you snapping away while joining in on the fun. And (3), while I'm a photographer first, supporting you during the planning process feels crucial to me - from building a timeline to having your back any way I can. Woman/LGBTQIA+ Owned

That magic is what I hope to capture as your photographer. It’s my job to hold those moments in time so that they don’t have to fade. You’ll forever be able to revisit the moment, see the exact way they smiled, revisit that incredible sunset, relive the memory and turn back time.

Where do I even begin with Jessica? From our initial meeting straight through our wedding day Jessica has been amazing. The work that she does can speak for itself. Jessica captures photos that are posed and candid with a simple ease. We have gone through our wedding photos and anyone that looks at them can feel the love that we have for one another. Jessica makes you feel comfortable when you are working with her. I hate being in front of the camera but with Jessica capturing our special moments all one can be is comfortable. On your wedding day when Jessica says if anyone messes with you not to worry for she will fight the fight. If something goes wrong she finds a way to make it right. If you are a selfless person she will tell you that you have every right to be selfish. Jessica made our wedding journey relaxed when it came to the photography. She also knows how to pick just the right second shooter for your event. Thank you for picking Emily for ours. I tell all the couples that I work with at my job to book the vendors that you click with; be comfortable with them. It makes a big difference. Mike and I can truly say that Jessica is a wedding super hero and along this journey we are proud to call her FRIEND!!!

Thalia is a wedding photographer based in NYC and available worldwide. Inspired by art, music, and the quiet moments in between, she brings a calm, intentional approach to the way she documents weddings. With over 11 years of experience, she works closely with her couples from planning through the wedding day, capturing honest emotion and meaningful details. When she’s not photographing weddings, she’s likely holding a dirty chai latte or re-watching The Office.

Awarded Best of Zola
Thalia is truly exceptional -- not only is she an extremely talented photographer, but she is incredibly easy and fun to work with. She is artistic, organized, leads an amazing team, and could not have made us felt more at ease during our wedding. We were absolutely blown away looking through our wedding album. Thalia and her team managed to capture every single emotion we felt throughout the weekend, in a way that transported us back to each moment. One of the defining moments of our wedding was when it started to rain during the ceremony - it was unexpected, joyful chaos, and made for one of the most special parts of the weekend. Thalia somehow managed to run in front of my husband and I as we were sprinting, smiles on our faces, back to the barn with our guests to wait out the rain. That single moment must have been so difficult to capture, but is one of the most incredible photos in the album. My husband and I didn't end up doing an engagement photoshoot, so our wedding was the first time we were formally in front of a camera. Thalia offered clear but gentle direction that made us feel completely comfortable in front of the camera, helped us lean into the moment, and made us feel just like ourselves. We got rave reviews from our wedding party, family, and friends about Thalia and her team - she felt like part of our friend group throughout the weekend. Her energy, artistic talent, optimism, and enthusiasm is unmatched. We can't imagine anyone else capturing our wedding weekend. We absolutely love Thalia and would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking to hire a fantastic wedding photographer!

Hi, my name is Millie! I picked up a camera 11 years ago and I've been wholeheartedly devoted to this craft ever since. Through photography, I've come to understand that the meaningful connections I form with others hold a special significance for me and should be documented. My journey has naturally directed me toward wedding photography, enabling me to translate your love into art. To me, nothing compares to distilling love into photographs.

Best word to describe Millie…UNMATCHED! Millie has been so responsive from DAY 1. She photographed our engagement session back in April 2023. She was just as invested in checking the weather for that weekend as much as I was! She made the experience so seemless and the photos came out effortlessly and captured our love even though we were camera shy. Aside from being our photographer for our engagment session - she also photographed our wedding recently (June 2024) and through our numerous video calls she made a timeline! This was so helpful with planning! We received our gallery in such a short period of time that I was in such disbelief. I lived the photos and our story she captured - I will forever be grateful!

When I came across Rebecca's website and portfolio I was immediately smitten. Her style was so beautiful and unique, and exactly what I was hoping to find for our wedding. One quick call with her and I knew she was our photographer. She was so warm and welcoming and we felt completely ourselves around her. We had FUN spending time with her for both our engagement and wedding photos. Aside from her amazing skills - she went ABOVE AND BEYOND to coordinate our engagement photos with us when we were living in California. She was the easiest choice we made and we love every photo she took for us. Cannot recommend her highly enough! - Chelsean Nick

I’ve never liked being on camera, but they made it feel like we were just living in the moment — not performing. There’s this one shot of us walking back from the ceremony, shoes off, sun setting behind us, and it looks like a still from a film. The video caught my brother’s terrible toast and somehow made it feel sentimental. I didn’t think wedding media could feel this personal.

Emily came highly recommended by a friend who knew we wanted a photographer who could capture sweet candid moments and make us feel at ease. Emily was proactive from the start, getting to know us and what we wanted out of our engagement photos. She listened to our ideas, offered expert recommendations, and created the perfect mood board. We are so grateful for Emily's expert guidance, which took our natural energy and channeled it to feature our best angles. Our engagement photos are so special, thanks to Emily!

I was overwhelmed when navigating how to choose a wedding photographer. I knew I wanted someone whose work accurately reflected the day and the people photographed, what better way than choose someone who had photographed me beautifully at a wedding! Emily was the photographer at my now SIL & BIL’s wedding. I loved her editing style and her speed of getting the right picture. I have never really loved how I look in photos, and I am hardly in front of the camera. At our engagement photoshoot at home, Emily made me feel completely at ease, and really captured great angles and unique ideas! Not only did I love how she photographed me, but I loved that it was honest. Emily shot our welcome party and our wedding. It was like see an old friend! Our guests were in awe of the photos and loved Emily’s personality. It was an absolutely gorgeous day, and possibly the most gorgeous I have ever attended, I am so glad I trusted Emily to capture the memories! What will not be shared on her public gallery are all the photos of our nieces and nephews! Emily photographed my SIL & BIL at our wedding and it was so heart warming and deeply meaningful! She was able to capture all the squirming kids in a fun way! She is truly talented and I am so grateful to have these memories for life!
