Hey there!! My name is Marilyn and I'm so glad you're here ♡ I am a couples + wedding photographer based in New York City, and happy to travel to wherever your day is at! I've had pink hair for the last 6 years so at this point it has become a personality trait and I'm 100% okay with it. I love the outdoors, pat every dog I can, and thrive on ben and jerry's. My ideal place to be would likely be frolicking in wildflowers in a dress that's way too long, but the longer the better. The patio of my NYC apartment with a good book is a close second favorite though, for sure.
My philosophy around photographing my clients is always putting your comfort and your memories at the forefront of the entire experience. What that means is that while I am taking your photo, I am also working to provide a calming environment and positive energy that allows you to focus on your authentic moments!

My 6-hour package is ideal for those couples looking for something simple, while still being able to capture the bulk of your day. If you plan on a shorter reception, or aren't interested in getting-ready photos, this might be best for you! I always recommend this package for folks who may *think* they only need 4 hours, so we can make sure you have plenty of buffer room to not rush things.

Joint Engagement Magic
Wow WOW!! We are beyond grateful to Marilyn for capturing our joint proposal so beautifully! As a queer couple, we haven’t always had positive experiences feeling fully seen and comfortable during special moments. However, she was truly incredible. From the very start, she made us feel safe, respected, and completely at ease, allowing us to be our true selves. Marilyn's warmth and professionalism ensured that we could fully enjoy the moment, and it shows in the absolutely STUNNING photos she created. I couldn’t say better things about Marilyn if I tried. She was the first photographer who’s portfolio we fell for in our search, and while trying to budget and explore other options, we made our way back to Marilyn and questioned why we ever even bothered looking anywhere else. We did a round of engagement photos with her first, after an initial zoom to meet and get to know her. From the zoom alone we could tell right away what kind of sweet, wonderful, magical person she was. I felt like I was talking to an old friend immediately. During our engagement shoot, which myself and my now husband were SO nervous for (we are both awkward and camera shy, and I don’t know how to stop running my mouth during photos because of it) she made us laugh SO many times and immediately melted our anxieties away. We knew we made the perfect choice in a person to take care of us on our wedding day in that moment. We have so far received our previews, and we are simply in love. Marilyn captured intimate moments, fun moments, and beautiful, emotional moments that helped us feel like we were reliving our day all over again. She guided us through the day, took us to the best spots, got the photos we asked for, all without either of us having to think about a single thing or logistic at any point. She was on it. She is and was such a treat and added the kindest most comforting attitude and energy to our day, and all of our family and bridal party agree along with us (we got quite a few “where and how did you find her??”s). We also added a second shooter via Marilyn (who was also sincerely lovely) for just one hour, during our pre-ceremony and ceremony, for a little extra coverage and timeline speed, and a roll of film which was so much fun too. If you love artistic and stylized photos, and are seeking someone with both a great eye and wonderful, calming presence, I mean it, look no further. We are so happy we found Marilyn.

Working with Marilyn was such a treat. She’s so warm, and communicating with her is a breeze. Both my husband and I were more interested in capturing the moments of our wedding day rather than spending loads of time on staged family portraits. Marilyn and her assistant Emma were great at getting the shots your grandparents will want while also capturing the essence of your night. She asked great questions, made sure we felt comfortable at every turn, and fully captured the essence of my (camera-shy) husband. Don’t hesitate to work with her!!

If only I could give Marilyn 100 stars, I would. If you are looking for a style that is candid, heartwarming, timeless, and a mix of film and digital, and a photographer who is talented, organized, trustworthy and kind, Marilyn is THE ONE. From our initial Zoom call to us getting the full album, Marilyn has been the most perfect vendor we had. Wedding planning is stressful, especially for those who opted not to have a planner, so after my first ever call with Marilyn, I knew I wanted to book her -- she's so genuinely interested in learning about me and my partner, answered all of my questions and emails promptly, and was always in such a cheerful and sweet manner. Leading up to our big day, she made sure to check in and even sent us a care package! The thought and time she put in for all her couples was just amazing. On our wedding day, she made sure to take us to all the most picturesque spots and gave us gentle guidance for our couples' portraits, while being there for us to document the most fun, silly, unexpected moments when we were just being ourselves with friends and family. Looking back, our wedding day itself had felt like an ecstatic blur, but looking at all the photos now reminded us of how special, exciting, touching that day truly was, especially in moments we didn't register mentally but captured candidly through Marilyn's lens of magic. Marilyn was not only able to capture the visuals, but also the joy in us, which takes real talent to accomplish. We are forever grateful that Marilyn was our photographer, and we recommended her to everybody we know getting married -- my sister-in-law has already hired her for her big day!
