Hey there! My name is Marilyn. I live in New York City with my sweet partner, and our orange cat Maple. I’m an introverted, soft-hearted mush with an insatiable need to document the beauty in life. Practicing self-portraits in middle school eventually led me to pursue my photography degree from New York University, and I have been joyfully creating photos of wedding days ever since. To me, weddings are a magical display of the human spirit. It’s my biggest honor and joy to create imagery that captures that human magic - especially in a way that breaks the boundaries of historically gendered traditions.

I want to photograph as a witness, not an orchestrator — I believe your day shouldn’t feel like a staged shoot. For me, documenting means that if I’m not capturing group photos, I am blending into the background and capturing moments as they happen, in the most candid way possible. Group photos are timeless keepsakes, but most posed photos can be consolidated into about 30 minutes-1 hour of your day, leaving the rest of the time for you to act natural. So if you’re looking to forgo the strict shot list and long list of posed portraits, let’s work together!

My half day package is ideal for those couples looking for something simple, while still being able to capture the main events of your day. If you plan on a shorter reception, or aren't interested in getting-ready photos, this might be best for you! I always recommend this package for folks who are on a tighter budget, but still looking to capture the heart and sentiment of your celebration.

My Full Day Elopement package is ideal for those having a celebration with multiple locations involved. If your ceremony is outdoors, or at City Hall, we have enough time to capture phots before, portraits following the ceremony, and a possible reception to follow! Similar to my larger wedding packages, this full day coverage is intended to take the pressure off of you with creating a strict timeline, and just let the day flow more naturally.

Marilyn is such a warm and welcoming person. She was so approachable and encouraging throughout the entire process. During our home photo shoot and on our wedding day, she stuck the perfect balance of directing us to look our best while allowing us to be ourselves. We have worked with Marilyn for mini sessions, engagement photos, and our wedding. Each time, Marilyn never ceases to amaze us with her ability to capture timeless photos that feel like us. Over the past few years, during the mini sessions and engagement shoot we did with Marilyn, she made us so comfortable in front of her camera. When it came to taking our portraits at our wedding, it felt like second nature - something that wouldn’t have happened with just any photographer. From the first email, Marilyn was warm and welcoming! And that spirit stayed with us through planning, zooms, and the whole day of the wedding. Of course, her work speaks for itself, and i think you can feel the love and emotions she captures through her lens. She captured so many special joys and moments, I feel like I am reliving our wedding day over and over! I think Marilyn's pricing is fair and well worth the money spent. I do not, but can recommend some wonderful videographers for you! I focus on photography only on your day, so you can get the best wedding pictures possible.

I always recommend reaching out as soon as you know your date! Typically, couples book me about a year before their wedding date, but it is never too early, or too late to check my availability!

All the photos I deliver to you will be edited to fit my style + look. That being said, it is super important to me that your photos reflect real life, so I do not do any heavy body retouching. You are authentically beautiful and I want to celebrate that! I will of course get ride of any fly-away hairs or blemishes, but my editing is mainly color corrections and minor adjustments.

My turnaround time varies whether you have booked an elopement, or larger wedding. Larger weddings will be delivered within 6 weeks, and couples session within 3 weeks. You will also receive a preview album to share with friends and fam 1 week after your wedding date!

This depends on how long I am photographing your day. You can expect about 50 to 80 images per hour of photographing. But keep in mind this estimate varies depending on your wedding package, number of guests, venue type, and other factors.

In the very rare event that I’m unable to photograph your wedding, I’ll make sure you’re covered by one of my colleagues or my contracted assistant. I’ll also provide you with a list of photographers from the many networking groups I’m in, so you can choose the perfect replacement. In this scenario, you would receive a discount when working with an associate, but I would still edit all the final photographs. If for any reason you cannot proceed with a photographer I recommend, you will not be responsible for any remainder of your payment.

You always have the option to add on a 2nd shooter to your package. I work with a network of other talented photographers in my community.

I do! Just let me know if your venue requires a certificate of liability, and I’ll send that over to them.
