Kam and her team at Kam Wickam Photography were an absolute pleasure to work with for our multi-day wedding celebration in Austin, Texas. From our very first interaction, Kam was prompt in her communication, easy to talk to, and incredibly helpful in answering all of our questions. On the wedding days, she was on it from beginning to end, capturing the most gorgeous, unique shots that truly felt like works of art. (I added some of my favorite film shots she took!) This is delightfully different elopement + wedding photography! From helicopter elopements and lakeside wedding bashes to hiking engagements to weddings with bouncy houses, I capture the adventurous, quirky, and unique. Based in both New York + California, with travel worldwide, I've photographed couples on 6 continents. My creative, fun, & candid photography uses innovative techniques and unique ideas to get photos that make you look twice. Whether you're saying vows in your backyard or having a 3-day adventure wedding in the rainforest, I'll catch every spontaneous moment of joy and laughter—and plan a few unique shots on top of it all.

Awarded Best of Zola
We worked with Kathryn for our October 2024 Hindu/Jewish blended wedding and were so happy with our decision!! We spoke with MANY photographers during the planning process trying to decide who fit our style and personality leading up to our wedding. Neither of us feel super comfortable in front of the camera so it was important to us that we found someone who truly fit us and what we were looking for. Kathryn's warmth, adventurous spirit, and genuine curiosity about us as a couple really stood out, and we immediately knew she was who we wanted to work with. We had a large wedding with many Hindu/Jewish traditions making the day busy & hectic, but Kathryn's professionalism and calm attitude made us feel at ease. We really appreciated how on top of it she was, sticking to our timeline and facilitating our rather large (and rowdy!) group, all while making the staged photos seamless and the candids from the reception/baraat so special and a true representation our special day. The colors are just magnificent, and we had many guests compliment her work, fun nature, and professionalism throughout the night. Thank you Kathryn for making our day so wonderful!!

My husband and I got married on June 28, 2024, and I can confidently say our wedding would not have been ours without Emma. She came on recommendation to me, and it was like we were destined to meet. Emma completely understood our vision (my husband and I are both creatives, so we had a VERY detailed one!) and worked with us to get the photos and Super 8 video we wanted. She was so professional, keeping us on time, on track, and ensuring that we stayed on schedule. She is masterful at wrangling family members for photos and capturing those small, intimate moments nobody else would think to capture. (My cousin texted me after the wedding to say, excitedly, that her purse and shoes were captured on camera and she loved it!) Hiring Emma for our photographer was the easiest and best decision my husband and I made on our wedding day. We wish we could get married again so that we can hang out with her more! Hire her!

Andrew and I met in the most random place, hiking in the woods 100 miles from where either of us lived. We spoke on the phone for months and saw each other when we could, while we lived hours apart. 7 Years later we're married, raising a handsome pup, and running a business together. Since inception we have won Best of Westchester 2020 for weddings and numerous other industry awards. We take a modern approach to photography. We will light you and pose you in the most flattering natural ways and place you in front of the most beautiful backgrounds, while being professional, respectful and patient with everyone on your guest list!

I couldn't be more grateful that Rebecca & Andrew shot our special day. Not only are they wildly talented (see some photos below), but they also eased our wedding nerves with their incredibly friendly demeanor. They took time to get to know us, and helped us look good and natural during our photoshoot (not something I thought I was going to be very good at, but they proved me wrong). We loved working with Andrew & Rebecca so much so that we've actually worked with them a few more times after our wedding. They are the best, and if you choose them to photograph your big day you will not be disappointed.

Hi! I’m Justin (he/him) and I’m here to affirm your love, make you feel like a fucking rockstar, and dance like a total fool. Oh, and take so many gorgeous photos of y’all. Obvs. My style blends both documentary photojournalism and fine art photography: coaching folks who are shy in front of the camera, then stepping back to capture authentic moments uninterrupted. I’ve been lucky enough to have my work published by A Practical Wedding, The New York Times, GLAMOUR, People Magazine and many other fabulous outlets. I'm a stereotypical Capricorn that loves drag shows, campy horror films, every dog I meet, and Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups.

Hey, I'm Mary! It's nice to meet you. Summing up who I am in an "about me" is always difficult. What you must know: (1) I'm a nerd. If you want to talk video games, LOTR or Doctor Who, we HAVE to sit down for a bourbon or a coffee. (2) Yes, I will be out on that dance floor with you snapping away while joining in on the fun. And (3), while I'm a photographer first, supporting you during the planning process feels crucial to me - from building a timeline to having your back any way I can. Woman/LGBTQIA+ Owned

Mary was an absolute pleasure to work with on our wedding day. Her communication style is easy, clear, and responsive throughout the entire process. The quality of her work and value was exceptional - she captured all the important details in a comfortable and natural way that made us feel at ease. Additionally, Mary was incredibly responsive and organized, answering every question. hey you! thanks for dropping by. my name is shelby, and i am a queer artist and manhattan based photographer who specializes in weddings + equine portraiture. my priority as a photographer is developing a personal relationship with each and every one of my clients (two or four legged). your special moments are their most pure when you are comfortable and ready to just have fun, and i am here to create that joyful space.

Awarded Best of Zola
I don’t even know where to start when it comes to Shelby. To put into perspective how much I absolutely love her work, we not only hired her for our city hall wedding, but also hired her and her partner Jordan (videographer) for our big wedding. They also just photographed my cousin Kate’s wedding this past weekend. Kate met Shelby and Jordan at my big wedding, and absolutely fell in love with not only their work, but them as people. My partner and I aren’t good at taking photos. We are very awkward, and feel uncomfortable being the center of attention. But Shelby made it SO EASY and SO FUN for us. Not only were our photos beyond our expectations, the video Jordan created for us was absolutely out of this world. They are such incredible human beings, and both so talented. I plan to use Shelby and Jordan for every event in the future.

Hey there! My name is Emilee, and I am a Minnesota-native living in NYC! I've been photographing people and events for 15 years. I shoot families, couples, individuals, and pets, but my passion lies in wedding photography. I love capturing the whirlwind of a couples' big day, and seeing the love that is shared between them and all their wedding guests. It's magical and wonderful every. single. time. My current markets are Minnesota and New York, but I'm available to travel anywhere in the US and the world for additional fees!

Awarded Best of Zola
What a dream Emilee was to work with, from start to finish. OUR CEREMONY PARTY: we decided on a private, courthouse elopement on a Wednesday, a 60 person reception party on a Friday. In both, our biggest priority was having a photographer capture the intimate, joyful small details. We went with Emilee because of her eye for the beauty in the small things. She captured both our days perfectly. DOCUMENTARY STYLE: Emilee was perfect behind the scenes, capturing beautiful moments of our friends and family, small details of the courthouse with just us. I look back at some of these photos and ask "how did she even get that?!" She has such an eye. POSED: We had about 20 minutes dedicated to posed, family photos during our reception. Emilee had our families relaxed and laughing, quickly swapping members in and out. In some newlywed photos, we sought her advice for how to pose. She gave quick direction, made us feel confident, and always found the perfect light. COMMUNICATION SPEED: Delivered on every promise, quick replies. Emilee was 15 minutes early to both locations, we never had to worry. PERSONALLY: We met with Emilee about 4 months before our big days. We had coffee, talked about our vision and our biggest priorities. She immediately felt like a friend, and knew she was firmly on our team. If you're looking for a photographer to capture not only beautiful photos of yourself, but more importantly, the feeling in every room, Emilee is the photographer for you. We recommend wholeheartedly, and can't wait for another occasion to work with her. Sincerely, Mara James

Bee Roll Media

I specialize in creating uniquely personalized images that will set your photos apart from the rest. I am stealthy and observant, catching all of the little moments that end up meaning so much more. Feedback from clients includes my seamless workflow and calm demeanor made for a stress-free photo experience and that I achieved the perfect mix of natural and directed moments that do not come off as stiff or posed. In addition to photography and videography I also specialize in designing unique "photobooth" sets for you and your guests to have stylized photos without tracking down the photographer.

My experience working with Bee Roll Media was amazing. My wife and I both needed headshots for new jobs we were starting, and also wanted to do a fun couples shoot for holiday cards. The photographer Brianna made us feel super comfortable in front of the camera and styled us to look our best. I got many compliments from colleagues for how professional my headshot was and was asked if they could get the photographer’s contact to do their own. As for the couples shoot, we had tons of fun. The studio had an awesome retro vibe that totally fit our aesthetic and we felt like we were models in an 80’s catalogue. She even shot on film to boost the retro look! People loved the holiday card we sent out and so did we! 10/10 would definitely recommend!

Hi, I'm Celeste, I'm from a small town in Spain. Now leaving in NY. I have spent the last seven years getting to know new humans and documenting their stories and connections. How they got into that point of their life, and what makes them light up. I feel it is quite a responsibility and a significant honor to be able to create this legacy for them.

Awarded Best of Zola
If you are looking for an incredibly talented, professional, warm and creative wedding photographer then look no further. My husband and I feel so, so lucky to have worked with Celeste for our February 2022 wedding! We initially hired Celeste for our Brooklyn wedding planned for June 2020. After multiple postponements and major changes to our original plans, we settled on a February 2022 wedding in Marietta, GA. Celeste was an absolute gem through all of these changes, always super accommodating and understanding. Celeste is incredibly talented and shot absolutely gorgeous moments we are so lucky that she captured! She really goes out of her way to ensure a flawless experience. For instance, the day before our wedding, she scoped out the location for our "first look" and organized a shot list of different locations around the square that would make phenomenal backdrops. And they truly were- are now some of our favorite shots! Celeste is so friendly, warm, and just lovely to work with from start to finish. My sister also hired her for her engagement photos and had an equally superb experience! I look forward to working with Celeste again. Thank you for helping us preserve our wedding day memories so beautifully, Celeste!!

Dasha Murashka

5.0

New York, NY
  • Photojournalistic style
  • Starts at $3,000

I'm in love with human emotions, either it's laughing till it hurts or tears of happiness. When your man hugs you so strong, that you can't breathe or when your dad is crying (for the first time in his life!) listening to your vows at the altar. I do believe, that these un-staged moments are more meaningful than classy portraits on a sunset (but no worries, you'll plenty of both!) If you feel like we are on the same page - let's talk! Write me a few words about who you are, tell me your story and let's create something beautiful together!

Awarded Best of Zola
We couldn’t have asked for a better photographer than Dasha! From our very first email exchange, we could feel her amazing energy—she was so friendly, easy to talk to, and incredibly professional. When we learned that she had recently shot a wedding at our venue and hotel, we knew we were in great hands. Neither of us take a lot of pictures (and usually don’t take them well!), so we were nervous about the process. But Dasha immediately put us at ease. She met with us in our neighborhood a couple of months before the wedding, and her warmth, confidence, and expertise reassured us every step of the way. On the big day, she was incredibly kind, patient, and made us feel completely comfortable in front of the camera. She brought out the best in us, and the results speak for themselves—the photos are absolutely unreal! We couldn’t be happier and couldn’t recommend Dasha more highly.

Zorz Studios

  • Fine art style
  • Starts at $2,900

Ed Hafizov is a creative director and lead photographer of Zorz Studios, Manhattan-based boutique photography studio, offering alluring and daring fashion, commercial, beauty, and wedding photography. Commissioned by clients from Alaska to India, he braves both the New York City metro area and the world, eager to step out of his–and willing clients’–comfort zone to pursue original artwork with a lasting impression.

If we could, we’d give him an infinite amount of stars because he deserves it! For starters, when my now husband and I were looking for a photographer, we were looking for someone who would capture our vision. Something outside of the ordinary and completely non-traditional. We stumbled upon his website and work. Boy, Oh boy! I was left speechless. Each piece I saw of Zorz just told a story! A story of love, definition, purpose, and, most of all, happiness. They were vibrant yet moody. Exactly down my alley. I instantly told my husband... “He’s the guy!!’ So we booked him INSTANTLY! Fast-forward to the first photo shoot. To give you an idea of what I wanted, I wanted to capture a nontraditional engagement photoshoot that steered away from the typical wedding photos. We opted to trash the dress. (Full disclosure: to me, traditional weddings are overrated, and the prices of wedding dresses are a scam.) So I thought, "Let's get creative! Let’s trash the dress like a beautiful, vibrant disaster." We told Zorz, and he was FULLY on board. He understood the assignment and absolutely delivered it! (Please see attached photos) Forward further: Wedding day photos. -Breathe, MF taking!!!! (Excuse the profanity, but really captivating) I know when couples look back on their wedding day photos they become emotional. When I tell you it’s been a year later, and every photo Zorz took still makes me feel like the first time I saw them… Warm and filled with happy tears. He knows how to capture the moment as is- the true definition of “A picture is worth a thousand words” The man, the legend… Zorz: He was great to work with. He was patient, kind, respectful, and funny. He made us feel comfortable in our own skin and knew how to handle the stresses of the big day. Words are not enough to express how much we (I especially) appreciate the work he does. 1000/10 Don’t hesitate, book him!! I promise you, he will not disappoint!!

I stumbled into photography while I was on maternity leave with my oldest and started a side hustle that I had no idea was going to turn into a complete career change years later. From the very first wedding I shot, I knew I was onto something. And ever since then, I haven't looked back.

Kim-Trang Photography was the perfect choice for our wedding photography. From the start, Kim’s communication style was ahead of the game - she was warm, friendly, and we were excited to have her on our team. Kim is talented and committed and truly captured the joy and intimacy of our special day. She connected with us and our family in a way that felt more like having a friend there than just a vendor. One of our favorite touches was the sweet Polaroids she left with our wedding cards - the perfect surprise when we were feeling a bit of the post-wedding blues. We couldn't be happier with the sneak peeks we've seen so far and can't wait to see the full gallery. Kim-Trang Photography went above and beyond to make our wedding day truly unforgettable.

I’m a wedding photographer drawn to quiet glances, soft light, and the kind of love that lingers long after the day is done. My work blends cinematic stillness with emotion—documenting each celebration with a poet’s eye and a romantic heart. I don’t just capture what happened—I preserve how it felt. Based in New York and traveling worldwide, I create timeless images that feel like memory and magic, carefully told and deeply felt.

After our first photographer fell through, we found Caz and luckily he happened to be available on our wedding date. From the very first contact, he was incredibly responsive (super important to us), friendly and professional. His work looked great so we were excited - then we found out he was featured in Vogue! We were stoked. He was amazing to work with on the wedding day - punctual, friendly, got all the requested shots, and the whole bridal party loved him. We got our pictures back today - and they’re so much better than we could have dreamed of. It’s no wonder he was featured in Vogue - his work is artistic, candid, and beautiful. Thank you Caz for giving us such beautiful memories so we can relive the best day of our lives.

I can’t say enough amazing things about Daniel! My husband originally found him on Snappr for our engagement shoot back in January 2024 and he was so incredible to work with, we just knew we had to book him for our wedding!! He made us feel so comfortable and made 2 awkward people look INCREDIBLE in front of the camera. He captured the most important moments of my life thus far and he did it so beautifully. All my guests loved him and appreciated all the fun pictures he took of them on the dance floor too!! LOL! I really can’t thank him enough for being such an important part of my day.

After graduating from Parson's School of Art in Manhattan, I worked as a fine artist, my work involved photography and photo manipulation. I quickly discovered that I loved and excelled at photo retouching, and went on to work for some of the best photo retouching studios in New York. In 2009 I shot my first wedding, it was a dear friend of mine and the beautiful photos were featured in one of the biggest wedding magazines. I realized that I had found my calling and have been producing stunning wedding photographs with my amazing team and clients ever since.

We used Emma Cleary Photography for our October wedding in New Hope PA and are BEYOND thrilled with the results!! The whole team was so easy to work with, and they made sure that we got everything we wanted from the day! Massimo was our lead photographer (with Ryan as co-photog) and I could not recommend them both enough! My husband and I (and our bridal party) felt so comfortable working them and they truly contributed to making our wedding day even more special! Choosing Emma Cleary was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding and we are so thrilled with our photos :)

Coco J. Photography

A photographer with 10 years of experience specializing in love stories, portraiture, and immortalizing a moment filled to the brim with feeling. I’m French, which means I have aways been attracted to beauty, art, and romance & love to have a good time; my photography embodies this. When I am not behind the camera I enjoy eating good food and drinking wine (again, I’m French), going on roadtrips with my wonderful boyfriend, Max, and cuddling up with a good book - my favorite is The Pillars of the Earth - and my cutie pie cat, Jack.

I met Coco when she took my headshots in her NYC studio. She is absolutely magnetic and incredibly fun to be around. I don't think anyone could keep their guard up around Coco - she makes you feel immediately comfortable and confident. This not only makes the experience stress-free, but also makes for absolutely beautiful, authentic photos that capture you at your best. I had recently gotten engaged, so when she mentioned her new focus on engagement/wedding photos I knew I needed to hire her! Our engagement shoot around our NYC neighborhood was a joy to do (even on a cold and rainy November day, and with my slightly camera-shy now-husband). Coco provides so much communication and support throughout the process, so you're never left wondering "what do I do with my hands?" "do I look crazy with this smile?" Those photos came out FANTASTIC. So cool, creative, unique, and exactly matching my vision. It also made my husband feel much more confident going into the wedding day. He felt safe with Coco! On the actual wedding day, I was genuinely glad to have Coco and her 2nd shooter Bailey around. They both had chill but fun energy and didn't add an ounce of stress - it really felt just like just 2 more fabulous friends around. My day was a bit complicated with my husband and I having separate getting ready locations and no first look. Coco confidently took the lead to make sure everything was executed flawlessly, even with unexpected hold-ups and changes to plan. I absolutely love the final product of the wedding photos. Nothing feels stuffy and posed, and they all capture what the evening really felt like. She even put together a video reel of key moments that really transports the viewer to the day. Pure vibes, love, and warmth. ZERO cheesiness! I would recommend Coco to any couple looking for something modern, romantic, warm, vibey, and unique. I'm sure she would also slay traditional posed wedding photos, but her talent truly shines in her authentic style.

Milieu

What do you imagine your wedding to be like? Imagination is a nice gift we have. It helps us building our identities and shaping our individual uniqueness. Imagining carries a degree of anticipation, depending on our past experiences and who we are, of how something that hasn't happened yet is going to be when it actually happens. Like traveling to a place where we've never been before and we take photos of its landscapes and people living there: we tend to capture in those photographs how we had imagined that place. A wedding is a destination in the journey of life, perhaps the most important one.

Salvatore was wonderful! He was very kind and professional. Before the wedding, he took the time to speak with us about our vision for the day and the shots we wanted. On the day of the wedding, he spent pretty much the entire day with us, and was even able to split his time between our ceremony and our reception. We got his photos right on time, and they were truly lovely, with a nice mix of posed and candid photographs, and beautiful lighting and focus throughout. Salvatore did everything we could have expected him to and more, and we are very glad that we went with Milieu for our wedding!

Jenny Flora Photography

Before I ever held a camera, as a kid I was obsessed with organizing and reorganizing printed family snapshots in albums. This infatuation with captured moments, led to picking out my first film camera, a 35mm Pentax, film developing and darkroom printing in high school, and then my BFA in Photography Degree. From there, I worked in varied sectors of photography, but my true passion lay in documentary work that could bring about awareness of challenging global situations. I have published and exhibited journalistic series internationally, notably at Oxford University and Aperture Foundation.

Jenny is an absolute gem! We are so happy we found her to photograph our modern beach wedding at The Wave in Long Branch, NJ. Jenny has an amazing eye and took advantage of all the beautiful aspects of the venue allowing for a great variety of photos. And a good mix of candid and posed shots. It was so apparent that takes such pride in her work and loves the art, making us feel so comfortable and calm the entire time. Both my husband and I are camera shy but Jenny gave us clear direction and took into consideration everything we were and weren’t looking for. Jenny and Camilla were also extremely flexible and supportive the entire day. We can’t thank them enough for their enthusiasm and dedication. It’s so apparent in their work. Thank you, Chris & Danielle

About wedding photographers in New York, NY

How much does a wedding photographer typically cost in New York, NY?

A New York, NY wedding photographer ranges from $400 to $20,000 and averages at $3,000. The cost reflects the number of hours included, if there is a second photographer, any prints or albums, and, most importantly, the experience of the photographer. But every snapshot they take is a priceless memory of your big day — way better than your bestie's blurry smartphone pics, right?

Do most photographers include a second photographer?

94% of photographers in New York, NY offer a second photographer, although it typically depends on the package you book! Second photographers are helpful because one person can’t be everywhere at once, and the second photographer ensures all the details are covered.

Which are the most popular photographers in New York, NY?

What else should I keep in mind when booking a wedding photographer?

Are you interested in an engagement shoot as a test run? Drone photography? Wedding albums? All helpful things to ask about when you’re considering which wedding photographer to book!

What questions should I ask a wedding photographer in NYC?

It can be hard to know exactly what you should be looking for when you’re first exploring wedding photographers. You might want to ask questions like, "How do you capture the essence of 'us'?" or "How do you balance capturing our must have shot list without missing out on unexpected candid moments?" Don't forget the nitty-gritty, either. Inquire about their portfolio, if they've shot at your venue before, and how they navigate New York City’s unpredictable elements (because who hasn't seen a taxi photobomb?). Check out our full list of questions to ask your wedding photographer for even more info.

How long does it take to receive wedding photos in NYC?

Picture this: you've said your vows, had the time of your life at the reception, and now you're back from your honeymoon, eager to relive it all through your photos. But you might need to wait a minute, because good things take time! Most NYC wedding photographers will ask for a 4 to 8-week grace period to finalize your photos. They're carefully sifting through the raw emotions and dance-floor shenanigans to deliver a gallery that's as epic as your love story. We know how eager you are to relive those moments, but your stunning snaps will be worth the wait.

How many images are typically included in a wedding photo package?

Wedding photo packages in NYC are as varied as the city itself, but on average, you might see anything from 300 to 700 finished photos. But hey, it’s not just about quantity, it’s the heart-stopping, tear-jerking quality that counts. Make sure to chat with your photographer about what's important to you – maybe it's those candid laughs during the toast or that magical first dance. So, whether you’re aiming for a minimalist album or an epic visual novella of your day, rest assured you'll have enough photos to keep your memories fresh and your heart full!

Are engagement sessions typically included in wedding photography packages in New York City?

Looking for a photographer to capture the excitement of your engagement, too? Look no further. Many New York wedding photographers bundle engagement photo sessionsinto your wedding package, or will add them on at a reduced rate. It's like a romantic pre-game show where you and your SO can get over some of the camera-shyness.
