Hi! I’m Justin (he/him) and I’m here to affirm your love, make you feel like a fucking rockstar, and dance like a total fool. Oh, and take so many gorgeous photos of y’all. Obvs. My style blends both documentary photojournalism and fine art photography: coaching folks who are shy in front of the camera, then stepping back to capture authentic moments uninterrupted. I’ve been lucky enough to have my work published by A Practical Wedding, The New York Times, GLAMOUR, People Magazine and many other fabulous outlets. I'm a stereotypical Capricorn that loves drag shows, campy horror films, every dog I meet, and Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups.
At the heart of my work, I centers m clients’ truest selves and intentions for their special days. I try to connect genuinely with all of my clients so we can make images that are true to you. Having photographed over 175 weddings, I know that having real conversations not only helps us get on the same page, but also let’s me give you the best experience possible — plus all the pretty pictures. You won’t worry about being in front of the camera because you’ll connect with the person behind it. I work with socially conscious, vivacious, creative people who believe in feminism, that love is love, and that Black Lives Matter.

An absolute dream to work with!
Justin McCallum was an absolute dream to work with as our wedding photographer. I have known Justin since he was a photography collaborator and teacher to me in my college years. Even though my expectations were set high from knowing Justin, From our initial consultation through the big day itself, his professionalism and dedication to capturing our vision exceeded in every way. Before our wedding, Justin took the time to have several detailed conversations with us to understand exactly what we were looking for. Honestly, it also helped us understand what to expect on our big day, and what to plan for! These planning calls were invaluable in ensuring he knew the specific shots and overall vibe we wanted to achieve. His attention to detail in this preparation phase really set the tone for a smooth and successful wedding day. What truly set Justin apart was the incredible energy and positivity he brought to our wedding day (and the joy he brought to every planning session). Wedding days can be nerve-wracking, especially when it comes to being abnormally highly-photographed (for us at least)--Justin made us feel so relaxed, and had an extraordinary ability to put everyone at ease. Even with wedding planners, a DJ, and lots of other contributors, Justin was the real MC of our day. Justing had us feeling like the most stunning versions of ourselves, and laughing loudly and often. His encouraging presence and professional demeanor helped calm our nerves and allowed us to fully enjoy the day we spent months planning. We hired Justin for 10 hours of coverage on our wedding day (August 24, 2024), and he maximized every minute. From family portraits to our first look and throughout the entire celebration, he captured everything beautifully. The assistant photographer he brought along complemented his work perfectly, ensuring no special moment went undocumented. When we received our photos, we were absolutely floored by their quality and exactly the "vibe" we were trying to create. Justin has an exceptional eye for composition and lighting (no surprises), and his images perfectly captured both the big moments and the small, intimate details of our day. Without hesitation, I wholeheartedly recommend Justin McCallum for wedding photography. His combination of technical skill, artistic vision, and wonderful personality is absolute photo magic. We couldn't be happier with our decision to work with him and are grateful to have such beautiful memories of our wedding captured through his lens.
These Photos Captured the True Us
Don’t think you’re photogenic? Worried that folks in your family, wedding party, etc. aren’t photogenic? Justin will MAKE them photogenic. The man is a wizard with the camera, able to capture moments and poses you never imagined possible. The photographer for our wedding was the one thing we knew we would need to splurge on to make sure we felt comfortable and happy on our wedding day. Justin spent so much time working with us on exactly what we wanted while at the same time, truly getting to know us and my god, does it show. Justin was able to capture the true essence of ourselves in our wedding photos, to the point where we started tearing up just looking at them. We cannot recommend this BEAUTIFUL human enough. They are truly the greatest
