Hi! I’m Ashley. I’m an artist and photographer working in Philadelphia. (And available for travel!) I’ve been shooting weddings since graduating with a degree in Photography from Drexel University in 2011. In 2015, I earned my MFA in Photography, Video & Related Media from the School of Visual Arts. After spending five years in New York City, building my art practice and teaching at the International Center of Photography, I moved back to Philadelphia ♥ to continue working with couples and families- capturing their most important moments.

As a key member of your wedding team, my goal for you is to look back at your wedding photos and remember how loved, cherished, and supported you felt on your wedding day. We’ll dedicate time to creative portraits of you and your partner, family photographs, capturing the details and decoration, and all of the intimate and unexpected moments in-between. When it comes to photography, I don't want to be just another vendor. I get energy from showing up for people, and you can be sure I’ll show up for you on your wedding day- helping to make you feel supported, and to make your day memorable, stress-free, fun, and intimate. WEDDINGS

Description

Every full-day wedding collection includes two photographers, a custom online gallery, and personal printing rights. Rates for full weddings range from $3,800 to $5,600. My second photographer and I will make sure every important event is documented, even during the times of the day when you and your partner are apart.

ELOPEMENTS

5 hours

Description

Planning an intimate and laid-back courthouse wedding? Escaping to the privacy of a favorite park? Every wedding is different and each couple is unique. I’m here to capture that! Elopements include one photographer and a minimum of three hours with a focus on you and your partner. Prices range from $2200 to $3400.

COUPLES

1 hours

Description

For this one-hour shoot, we’ll visit one of your favorite spots or I can scout one for you, dance around, have some fun, and capture some authentic moments. Bring your pets, a change of outfit, and anything that will make you feel most like you. Couple sessions are included in select full-day wedding package and start at $500.

    Ash Smith Photo Studio was a dream to work with for our wedding photography. Ashley was quick to respond to all of my questions and requests in the planning process, and made me feel at ease every step of the way. On the big day, Ashley captured countless incredible moments with her fantastic eye and skill behind the camera.     Ash made my husband and I feel so well taken care of on the day of our wedding. We did not have a traditional wedding at all, and she listened to our ideas and requests and made us feel so comfortable and actually have fun posing for photos as a couple and with our guests and family. We had 3 locations for our wedding - the ceremony in a garden, the reception in an intimate restaurant, and the after party in a beer garden. Ash came with us to each space and like a fly on the wall captured so many excellent candid moments. I feel like she really understood the vibe and tone of our celebration and captured it perfectly - we love the photos (which she got to us so quickly and even mailed us prints)! We definitely recommend Ash to any couple, and can say for other queer couples you will be well cared for and your photos will be as unique and special as your union :) Thanks Ash!

    10/10 would recommend! Ashley did such a good job with both our engagement and wedding photos. She captured so many beautiful moments in a way that felt authentic to our experience. Looking at our photos is like reliving the day. We got married outside in nature, and she did an amazing job of capturing the beauty of the park. She also got my young nephews to look at the camera and smile! Ashley's presence helped me to feel relaxed and confident. She encouraged us to be in the moment but also gave direction on how to pose when I was looking for it. She was organized and reliable throughout the planning stages and on the day of. She put together the most comprehensive schedule for the day which really helped to set me at ease in the weeks leading up. I can not recommend her enough.

    Ashley was amazing to work with. She met with me via Zoom and then again with both me and my now husband to ensure she knew exactly what we were looking for from a photographer. I explained that I really didn't want too many posed pictures since I thought they tended to look fake. Ashley listed to my wants, and incorporated that into the "posed" pictures we did take. She managed to ensure we still looked like we were alive even in the more stiff family shots. We had Ashely as our main photographer and Candice as our second shooter. Candice went with the gentlemen in the morning for their getting ready and captured all the fun and excitement. Between the two of them, they probably took over a thousand pictures. The final pictures were delivered through a secure website that was really easy to use and share with others. I am so glad I hired Ashley as my wedding photographer. It was one less thing I had to stress about on the day of, as she clearly knew what she was doing and how to take the best photos.
