She invited me to see her DJ a set and she was dancing and singing with everyone. We knew she would be perfect. She is very communicative and played music that got all ages on the dance floor. She plays all genres and you can tell she really loves each event she is a part of. I had multiple guests come up and tell me how much they enjoyed her DJ'ing. With her services, lighting can be included as well as a wonderful pink photobooth. She also has vintage photography (see below for a black and white photo from her) and videography services available. She even saved the day and had a microphone for us to use during our ceremony when we found out we did not have one. At the end of the event, we felt like we were saying goodbye to a friend we had known for a long time!”

“Upohar was terrific, from the tasting to the wedding day; they were easy to communicate with and provided clear invoices with all information included. They had so many food options that we had trouble choosing our favorites. We loved having the food truck for our guests to pick up appetizers (samosas/empanadas) during cocktail hour and their entrees during the reception. All the food was served hot, and on the bamboo plates I requested. We even had plenty of leftovers to eat with friends for several days after the event. “We are so glad we chose Maurice (The Covenant Child DJ) for our wedding. Maurice responded very quickly to our initial inquiry on wedding wire and after our first call we knew it was a good fit. Maurice was very helpful in planning our music and the timing for our wedding. He sent us a link to an application that he uses (called Vibo) that allowed us to input our song choices for different parts of the wedding (processional, recessional, cocktail hour, first dance, dinner music, dance music, etc.). This was incredibly helpful because the app lets you search songs from Youtube, Spotify, and Apple Music and upload it there. We are a couple from mixed backgrounds so having this was super helpful to include music that both of our families could enjoy and have a solid set of songs. We chose about 30 songs and let Maurice fill in the rest, and he did an absolutely amazing job filling out the playlist and choosing songs that got the guests dancing. He even did some research on Malagasy songs and included them at different parts of the wedding. He even did a custom mix for us for our first dance! Maurice also helped out by suggesting timing for the different elements of the ceremony and reception. Maurice was very generous with his time during planning and really went above and beyond to help us plan the day. On wedding day, Maurice was great. He was an active, lively DJ and was very helpful with announcements, keeping us on schedule, and getting the guests involved in the wedding. He led us through some different games, and played a perfect set of music. Maurice did a great job reading the crowd and playing the hits that got different groups dancing. Toward the end of the night he played hit after hit and had us and our friends dancing... we didn't want to leave the dance floor!! Thank you so much Maurice for everything, you were a huge part of making our wedding special and we will forever appreciate it!”

“Lissa and her team was absolutely wonderful from the initial contact up to the end of our wedding day! No matter what kind of wedding you're having, she will make you and your partner feel like you have all of her attention as the most important couple. Throughout the whole process, she was so professional and supportive, even with not as traditional ideas. She had such a quick response time, usually within a day, or a couple hours, and sometimes even sooner! Her attention to detail in making my timeline was also amazing and I felt that we were able to have the whole day planned to the dot before the big day. On the wedding day, she made sure everything ran so smoothly and we were not stressed out at all! We had some small hiccups with the layouts that our venue had set up, but a quick word from Lissa had them fixing the issue. She's the perfect amount of assertiveness, professionalism, and friendliness with everyone, including the guests. The largest thing that stood out to us was how much all of our other vendors loved Lissa and working with her, and we could see it throughout the day. Our venue had restrictions such as a short setup window, but Lissa communicated with them and navigated the situation very well to make everything go smoothly. Even though we had a venue management person for the day of, it was nothing compared to working with someone that truly focuses on you and your needs. “I was attending a formal wedding in DC & needed an updo. I googled online and through Senema Beauty I was put in touch w Aida. We worked out the details via text. She came to my hotel & did my hair in about 40 minutes! It was the same price as if I had travelled to a DC salon!!! Totally worth it!! Took away a lot of stress & 2 Uber rides! “As my fiancé and I started the wedding planning process, we joked that our loose theme would be “flowers and love.” We knew we wanted lots of beautiful, lush florals as the primary decor focus, and also knew we didn’t want to spend the many thousands of dollars to achieve that look with a standard florist. If you’re in the same boat, and have an appetite for some DIYing, I’d STRONGLY recommend working with Bloom Culture. After some Googling for DIY wedding florals, I came across Bloom Culture and spoke with Allison for a custom consultation. During the call, Allison helped me express the type of floral look we were going for, and built out a custom floral package that would achieve it. She also laid out the delivery and prep process, and we landed on a final package and timeline for delivery. We received a LARGE box of flowers the week before the wedding and were immediately pleased with the quantity and quality of flowers we had received. Allison’s guide mentioned that some crushed or damaged blooms would be completely normal, but everything was so well packaged we didn’t notice more than a few damaged stems. From there, the DIYing began. Between unpacking, trimming, de-thorning, trimming again, building bouquets, arrangements, boutonnieres, etc, etc, it was a LOT of work. However, we referenced Allison’s guides (written, video tutorials) religiously and they laid out everything perfectly. She strongly recommends having plenty of assistants -- pay attention to this advice! Find a few trusted friends or family members who have time and artistic ability and it will make all the difference in your stress levels. The flowers all lasted beautifully for the wedding and we received so many compliments on how they looked. Allison - thank you for everything!”
