Q: Do you learn new songs?

YES! This is one of our specialities. Although we already have a HUGE range of music in our catalog and in our knowledge from working in music, we LOVE learning new songs for an event. Our founder is musically trained and is used to learning new songs to actually perform in a short time, so this is second nature to us.

Q: How early do you come to set up?

We arrive minimum of 2hrs in advance of guests and the event starting. Why? Because we like to allow time for any unexpected changes that can occur in a venue or anything else that may come up. We like to be set up and ready to go early so that your event begins in a calm and smooth way.

Q: Do you take music requests?

We certainly can....however, we like to check in with our couples or whoever hires us to see what their preference is. Some couples don't want us to take any requests. If you do, we are more than happy to take requests and will accommodate them as best as we can. We come to your event with thousands of songs, so 99.9% of the time we can play a request anyone asks for.

Q: What do you wear?

We always check with our clients what the dress code is. Most often we dress formal. We can color coordinate according to the color theme of the event if necessary and/or wear a particular style. We like to glam it up a bit, as we love style, so you may see us in some fabulous metallic pants at one event, or in a strapless ballgown at another. It just depends on the dress code.

Q: Do you provide music for wedding ceremonies or cocktail receptions?

We certainly do! We can provide stylish, low profile, speaker set ups for both ceremonies and cocktail receptions. We also can help you choose the perfect music for both these parts of the evening.

Q: Do you provide other services, such as lighting or photo booths?

We can provide uplighting and party dance floor lighting.

We are a WOMAN-OWNED and run boutique DJ Agency. We don't provide a cookie-cutter DJ service. We custom design the music to suit you and your fiance. We avoid the corny typical DJ experience so you get exactly what you want to hear at your wedding. We understand that DJing your event involves the perfect combination of bringing fun energy, choosing just the right music and being prepared. We always bring love and FUN to every event we are part of.

After working the events and service industry for years as a musician and DJ, our founder Gemma wanted to start the kind of DJ business she would have liked when she was planning her own wedding. Someone easy and fun to talk to, that understood her musical needs. We love working with couples to create the perfect soundtrack. We truly care about everyone we work with. We are really 'down to earth', we pay great attention to detail in the event planning, timeline and music playlists and we make sure every event is custom designed just for you.

I can’t say enough how much we loved working with Gemma and her team! They do an amazing job, are lovely humans, and also very professional and prompt to respond! We got married in September 2024 and are still getting compliments from our guests about how much they loved her work. She can really read a crowd and follow the vibes while also taking into account our preferences and songs we love. We also worked with Gemma as our videographer in Super8 and absolutely LOVE the final product. She really captured the spirit of the day and I’m so happy to have it as a keepsake from our wedding. On a personal note, I was a bit of a frazzled bride on the day of, especially because our photographer was late. Gemma was already there and helped talk me through things and helped me get ready, and even offered to take extra film of the moments our photographer had missed. I can’t say enough how much that meant to me, but I think that’s just a testament to her and how much she genuinely cares and wants your day to be special. I would book her again a million times over, if you’re looking for a wedding DJ or videographer you don’t need to look any further!

I was really looking forward to working with Gemma and her team, but unfortunately, I ended up disappointed. During our first interview, Gemma strongly pushed for us to book either with her (at a higher fee) or her husband, Kelton, who was slightly less expensive. We chose Kelton because he seemed like a great fit for our music preferences. When we signed the contract, Kelton was confirmed as our DJ, and we felt excited! About a month before the wedding, we had a productive phone call with him to discuss our timeline and details, which left us feeling confident. However, just 11 days before the wedding, I received an email introducing us to a different DJ, Steven. I was confused and reached out for clarification since Kelton was listed on our contract. I was informed that DJs could be swapped out, except for Gemma, and that there was nothing they could do. This was frustrating, especially since Gemma had insisted on us booking Kelton. Every response on this issue took a full business day and given the short time frame, I would have appreciated receiving more priority. While Gemma offered free lighting as compensation, it didn’t fully address the issue. On the wedding night, the DJ did a good job, but I’m not sure it was worth the premium we paid. There were little frustrations, like our cocktail and dinner Spotify playlists being played in order on repeat. I could have added more songs, but I would have appreciated a heads-up if they needed more options. Despite that, the dancing was fun, and my guests enjoyed themselves! A few of our must-play songs were missed, but I was having such a good time that it didn’t matter. Our DJ did a great job taking requests, which kept the dance floor lively. Overall, while we had a good time, the experience was marred by communication issues and last-minute changes. I wish things had gone more smoothly, and I can't fully recommend this service based on our experience

Making sure our couples are happy is of the utmost importance to us. We have reached out to you privately to discuss further but have not received a response. The beauty of having a team of DJs means that none of our couples are ever stuck without a DJ in emergencies. We all share the planning docs and music so that in the rare circumstances when we have to switch DJs or someone is sick we have a backup ready to go. Our small team are all exceptional DJs which means no matter who does your wedding you receive the same high quality and customized service. We always provide a speedy response time of 24hrs or less to all our couples- even during our busy season. We pride ourselves in that. We are glad that dancing was fun and your guests enjoyed themselves. That is always our main aim as DJs and most importantly as you said you were having' such a good time'. We hope that our couples can just be in the moment on the dance floor and enjoy themselves. We're also glad you enjoyed the free lighting we gave you. We wish you and Ryan a wonderful future together and loved seeing the photos you posted online.

Gemma is truly a master at her craft--to the point I've had multiple people come to me after the wedding telling me that I had an awesome DJ! We loved that Gemma tailored the dinner and afterdinner music to our vision and I think she really understood us as people. I knew from the first conversation with her with her bubbly energy that she'd be the perfect person to work with. She truly listened to our needs or any concerns we had and also was able to think of things we hadn't since she has so much experience. She also was able to help us out with some lighting needs which was fantastic. Her energy and toptier skills really brought the whole day together and we can't thank her enough!! I'm still so honored that Gemma went so above and beyond for us-- not only did she DJ but she also was there earlier in the day to do our wedding film on Super8! Overall such a cool and unique service. Don't even hesitate booking her, you found the one! 3

10/10. Scale not high enough. If you are looking for a wedding DJ, stop and book Luv’dUp DJs. It’s rare to find someone who truly understands the atmosphere of a wedding like DJ Kelton did at ours. Many of our guest thought it was the best music they’d ever experienced at a wedding. And to be fair, while we did create the playlist, DJ Kelton showed no ego; he respected our choices and played the music that we loved. My family travelled all the way from Slovakia and had several special song requests. DJ Kelton seamlessly incorporated all of them into the evening as if he were familiar with each one. I had multiple guests approach me to ask if he was Slovak. Best part was that you could tell DJ Kelton was having fun. His energy was infectious, and it translated directly to the dance floor. Not a single person left the dance floor from start to finish—it was an unforgettable party, thanks to DJ Kelton and Luv’dUp!
