About this venue

Named after the William R. Mercer family’s ancestral estate in Perthshire, Scotland, and modeled after the Compton Wynyates in Warwickshire, England, Aldie Mansion stands on more than 10 acres of carefully tended grounds. While this early 20th-Century estate’s period charm adds to the character of any special event, the restored mansion offers the space and amenities of a more contemporary venue. Aldie Mansion is home to Heritage Conservancy, a non-profit membership organization whose mission is to protect our natural and historic heritage. Aldie’s own story is one of a successful preservation effort, making it a fitting headquarters for the group. When you choose to hold your event at Aldie Mansion, you are providing support for open space preservation, planning for sustainable communities, natural resource protection, property stewardship, historic preservation, the adaptive reuse of existing structures and wildlife habitat restoration.

For large gatherings, the building’s 2,400-squarefoot atrium serves as a perfect setting for dancing and dining; while the library, gallery and great hall are each ideal for more intimate events. Outdoors, the mansion’s prolific gardens, stone terraces, working fountains, and flowering trees are sure to make an impression. Whether you’re seeking a location for a wedding, reunion, or conference, Aldie’s distinctive architecture, elegant landscaping, and experienced professional staff are guaranteed to make your event a memorable success. The original oak-paneled Library, Boardroom and Great Hall with its bluestone floor all feature distinctive fireplaces and are ideal for smaller gatherings. Outside, splashing fountains, terraces, rolling lawns and rare specimen trees create a thousand lovely photo backdrops.

I could go on and on about how fabulous the entire crew at Aldie Mansion was! From the first tour we had with Kim to our planning experience with Nicole to our actual wedding weekend/day with Desiree, every step of the way was done to perfection. Kim Bates was extremely helpful at the beginning, answering my many questions and preparing us for our food tasting and overall event planning. Nicole Potts was the best event designer we could have asked for. She made our day so special, and truly took care of us at each and every turn. Nicole’s attention to detail is unmatched - I truly never felt stressed, because I knew Nicole always had my back. We needed a few accommodations for some of our guests and she was more than happy to help out to ensure all our guests had the best time. Nicole and the team also made sure that our Italian Cookie Table was displayed and executed perfectly – not a small ask, and it was down exactly as we imagined! At our rehearsal and wedding day, Desiree made sure everything was executed to perfection. She continuously checked in on us to bring us food or drinks and make sure we had everything we needed/wanted. Because we didn’t do a first look, we weren’t able to catch our cocktail hour, but Desiree made sure all our hors d'oeuvres were in the bridal suite waiting for us, and made sure to give us time just us between the ceremony reception. It was so thoughtful, and we truly appreciated that time together (and the food). Speaking of the food, JAM catering hit it out of the park! Everything was delicious – we looked around at one point, and dinner plates were completely empty! Aldie Mansion and the team at JAM made our day so beyond special. We are so glad we chose this venue – it was an absolute dream!

We booked Aldie Mansion for our April wedding, and we're so excited! The venue's charm and beautiful surroundings won us over during our first visit. The staff's friendly welcome and attention to detail reassured us that our special day is in good hands. With the stunning setting, we can't wait to say "I do" at Aldie!
