Meshawn and the team at Perfection Unlimited were our Coordination team for our October 2023 wedding. We could not have asked for a better team to coordinate our unique wedding ceremony that was a surprise to our guests. After connecting with PU via Thumbtack back in mid-2023, we spoke with Matthew who immediately understood the importance of our vision. Our wedding was held at the New Parkway Theater in Oakland, Ca. It started off as a friends and family screening of a short film (the Bride was the director, the Groom was a crew member). Then, during the post-film Q&A, we revealed to our guests that we were getting married right then and there in the theater. Not only did PU coordinate a film screening complete with red carpet, step & repeat photos, food, drink, DJ and more, but they helped transition into a full wedding ceremony. Meshawn ran point on everything: rehearsal, procession, recession, cake, etc. Stellar team members, Angel and Rakisha, executed everything flawlessly. Angel acted as the special events coordinator, making sure our tech was on point (sound, picture, graphics, everything!) and she even made a reel for us to post on our socials. PU was up for the challenge of our 2-in-1 surprise wedding/film screening, and they rose to that challenge with much aplomb. For what we asked for, they could've up-charged us greatly. PU made us feel heard and seen throughout the process. We wanted our wedding to be a collaboration between BIPOC businesses and creators celebrating what we can achieve when we work together. Thanks to PU for what they promised, perfection.

Lindsay has since retired to be with her family and I now run 2 Friends Events with the help of my amazing team.

There is no question that choosing 2 Friends Events as our wedding planner was the best decision we made throughout the process. (And of course, we made a lot of other smart and delightful decisions thanks to the 2FE team!) From our first call through the week after our wedding, Nichole and her team provided us constant support, seamless logistics and research, and brought so much joy to the planning process. As our planner, Nichole listened, helped keep us focused on what we said was important to us, and was always five steps ahead with her proactivity and organization. And my goodness, did she bring our vision to life! Everything from it being colorful and vibrant to finding an ADA friendly venue to incorporating our dog and favorite beverage Spindrift to herding us all on the wedding day (no strong feat!). Last but not least, each person we interacted with was just kind and a good human being. When we had a family crisis the weeks leading up to the wedding, she immediately helped pull together contingency plans. We couldn’t have been more grateful for everything they did for us. Working with the Oso team was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding! We actually hired them about 2 years in advance, so we got to work with them for a super long time! One of the biggest reasons that we wanted to hire Oso specifically was because of their decor inventory, which was 100% available to use at no additional cost with their full wedding planning package. Weddings can be extremely wasteful in terms of decor, so it was nice to be able to consciously be a bit more sustainable! We honestly ended up hiring Oso for so many other services as well — Michelle did an amazing job with our signage, they also have a great photobooth package, and Michelle’s sister owns Bobaholics so we were able to get a discounted rate for a boba bar! It really felt like a one-stop shop :) Michelle, Gen, Raymundo, and Gennie were all so helpful in coordinating with vendors and giving us wedding advice/guidance - working with them also gave us confidence that we weren’t missing any important steps or details of wedding planning. They were also available by text/email anytime, and they always responded extremely quickly, which I so appreciated! Talking to them felt more like talking to friends who were super passionate about wedding planning! On the actual day of the wedding, my husband and I felt so stress-free because of Oso - they seamlessly guided everyone to stay on schedule, had walkie talkies to communicate with each other, and constantly asked us if we needed any food/water/etc. They took care of passing out our vendor tips, and set up all of our decor with time to spare! When people ask us for wedding planning advice, we always say that hiring a planner was the best decision we made - specifically Oso Events! They are truly the best at what they do :) We could not be more grateful to them!

We worked with Yoko from Two Perfect Events, and her team was on top of it every step of the way. Yoko made sure to get to know us and took every step possible over the year we worked together to make sure that we were prepared for the big day. She was in touch with our vendors, and our families and made sure that everything ran as smoothly as possible. We never felt behind schedule or rushed because Yoko and team were so organized and on top of it. They really took care of us throughout the entire process. Something we appreciate is that they anticipated we'd need breaks during the day and scheduled those for us as well, they also made sure we were fed and hydrated throughout! Kaci was the perfect day-of-coordinator and we highly, highly recommend her. She shepherded us through the month- and day-of calmly and confidently and made the wedding day run smoothly. About a month before, we met with her to discuss our priorities for our wedding, establish a timeline, and make sure we were on top of all the details. She came to this meeting very organized, and prompted us to think about things that weren't even on our radar - as an example, whether we wanted a grand entrance and what song we'd like for that. As we got closer to the wedding day, she took over communicating with our vendors and provided all of them with detailed itineraries and instructions. A few of our vendors told us that Kaci was one of the more organized coordinators they've worked with. She was very responsive if we had questions or wanted clarifications and was always open to more communication. On the day of, she was perfect - we felt totally at ease knowing that all of the vendors knew the plan and that Kaci would tell us where to be and when. She had a calming tone and checked in regularly to make sure we had everything we needed, and was instantly responsive if we needed anything or wanted to make last-minute changes. Calmerin was the best investment we made for our wedding, hands down!!! Glennie and Ashton were incredible from the start to finish. We knew from the very first phone call that they were going to 100% on top of it, and we were right! The organization and detail of this team is top-notch. We hired them for Jade Package, which is similar to day-of-coordination (which is really more month-of), and was super important given our majority DIY wedding with 170 guests. Plus, Glennie and Ashton were such lovely, kind, and genuine people!! While the bulk of the details and communication was in the month leading up to our wedding, we had access to all of the planning docs as soon as we sent our deposit. The planning docs are AMAZING and so detailed, making us feel like we could transfer all of our knowledge/plans/thoughts to them. This was really important for us since we were doing the majority of the planning, and they executed phenomenally. We were also able to ask them for questions, such as a DJ recommendation. Glennie and Ashton were fantastic during the thorough venue walk-through, video calls, rehearsal with our wedding party, and on the day-of. We were able to drop off all of our wedding stuff (2 SUVs full) the morning of with set-up directions, and we showed up and it looked better than we had imagined/planned for! The tight set-up window from our venue was stressful, but Glennie and Ashton made sure everything was ready to go. They were so great at communicating with our vendors (we got many compliments!) They only texted us 1 small question the day-of, knowing that we were stressed and busy. They were AMAZING throughout the whole night, making sure we were on schedule and that we had everything we needed. We could go on and on about how amazing the team was and how happy we are that we worked with them. Best decision, book them before their calendars fill!

We LOVED working with Brittany. We had monthly meetings with her for over a year, from the venue search phase to the handoff to our month-of coordinator, and she was so helpful. She helped us with the searches for everything—venue, DJ, photography, day-of coordination, flowers, catering—and provided us timelines and organization tools that were genuinely invaluable. We had very little idea going in exactly what was needed to plan a wedding, but Brittany’s collaboration made us feel very on top of things. She also worked with us to troubleshoot things when issues arose (like our flower provider not following some of our communication requests). And an added bonus is that she’s fun to hang out with lol—we really enjoyed our monthly meetings!! Would absolutely recommend the Venlist (and Brittany specifically)!

Abiola and her team at ABIBI Bridal were nothing short of phenomenal! As a type-A person, I tend to get anxious about the details, but Dacia worked her magic to keep me calm, stress-free, and fully present throughout the day. And Francis—wow, what can I say? The groom and his groomsmen couldn’t stop raving about him. He brought the perfect energy, kept the guys entertained, and made sure everyone was having a blast. Haitian weddings are famously known to run late, but Abiola made sure we started on time—this was a huge priority for me, and she nailed it! From the moment I met Abiola, I knew I was in the best hands. She flawlessly managed our large wedding party (35 people, no less!) without even breaking a sweat. Secondly, Natalie's talent for designing and creating a timeless beautiful aesthetic is second to none. Her taste is impeccable, she has an attention to detail that you will deeply respect, and she will help you create a cohesive design element that will have you and your guests blown away. From the ceremony design all the way down to the drapes and the cutlery, Natalie has a keen eye for creating a gorgeous yet comfortable/welcoming design. So I usually don’t write reviews but I had to for this because my experience very easy and pleasant. I wasn’t left to plan my own wedding. The wedding planners here were very attentive and they basically helped me plan my wedding. Think of it like we planned my wedding together. The price was perfect too cause wedding planners are expensive. They even hooked me up with transportation and flowers for my wedding. Prestige Planning Co. was really great and I would recommend them to anyone.

We used Cali Soiree for their wedding planning/coordination/decorating services. Jazmine worked with us and was AMAZING!!! Everything was so beautiful and exactly as discussed.
