Butter& is a designer cake shop based in San Francisco, California and serving the Bay Area. Amanda Nguyen founded the company in 2017, determined to push the cake industry towards a more modern aesthetic, more nuanced flavors, using technology to create a better customer experience, and ethical treatment of food industry workers.

Driven by a lifelong love for the art of baking, my passion for cake-making ignites my soul. Amidst the challenges of the pandemic, I found solace and purpose in the kitchen, channeling my creativity into crafting delectable confections. My journey began with a formal education in culinary arts in 2001, followed by an exhilarating experience working at the 02' Winter Olympics. This exposure fueled my ambition to venture into the world of cake baking, where every ingredient tells a story, and every slice brings joy.

Joyce started Bake Sum in 2020 just in time for the pandemic making pastries and sweets that represent their upbringings. We love all things leavened, fluffy and delicious and utilize our skills as pastry chefs to bring you memorable pastries. We believe that pastries should be fun, beautiful, creative, and above all delicious. ​

Y.so.Sweet was founding by a local confectioner Yin. Yin first made cotton candy treats for her daughter’s birthday party. She discover she had a knack for making the fluffy sweet candy. The cotton candy was so popular with her friends and family, Yin created Y.So.Sweet to shear her candy concoctions with everyone!

The summer of 2013, Malaka approached her bestie since high school, Erica, with a crazy idea: let's start a business! Our love for pastries and food led us into the kitchen and from then on we were Two Chicks in the Mix. It was that very summer where we test baked items like our Lavender Cake and Mixed Berry Pie, which are staples on our menu today. With roots in South LA, we intend to bring a new approach to bakeries in our community. In 2012, the economy was just coming out of a recession and Silicon Valley started to attract top talent from all over the world. Experiential add on features, like our candy buffets, was fun at office parties, trade shows and holiday parties. Brides and Mitzvahs also found so much joy in our services. Fast forward to more than a decade later, we have added on more services from popcorn buffets, custom packaged party favors, and trail mix buffets.
