Amazing NYC views from the bridal suite/rooftop, a beautiful dance floor and delicious food and cocktails that our guests still talk about 6 months later (some of the best Salmon and Short Rib we’ve ever had), we couldn’t recommend booking Deity enough. I am over the moon with how absolutely perfect things were with DJ Zach! I have very particular music tastes and knew I didn't want your "typical" wedding music (though I'm sure Zach could do a great job with that too); after vibing with Zach on the phone and connecting over our shared love of music, I felt confident he could deliver a wedding I could be personally proud of. And boy, did he deliver! We had an absolutely packed dance floor all night. He did such a fantastic job taking the cue from my song selections and finding the beautiful middle ground between music lover and crowd pleaser. I'm so thrilled Zach was my partner-in-music and helped create my dream wedding!

Choosing Lizzie and RBE to plan our wedding with us was without a doubt the best decision of our entire wedding process!!! I speak for my husband and both our families when I say it was truly a joy to work with Lizzie from start to finish. My daughter and I suspected we’d need assistance in planning a wedding in Brooklyn as I live out of state and she works full time. Our venue recommended Angel Green at Greenhouse events and it was the most important and best decision we made! Angel is a delight to work with and has a calming presence and a sweet sense of humor. But make no mistake from her gentle demeanor during the planning, on the day of the wedding she was a powerhouse of activity and accomplishment! She got things DONE! Everything turned out exactly as we wanted and even beyond what we had envisioned. She was so organized and on top of every detail. I would not hesitate to recommend her. She truly lives up to her name.

Steven Rosen Photography

5.0

Brooklyn, NY
  • Photographer
  • Fine art style
  • Starts at $2,200

I have been a photographer for the last 20 years, shooting weddings, elopements and portraits. I'm proud to have shot more than 150 same-sex weddings, which is probably more than, well, just about anyone. That said, I’ve worked with as many straight couples as LGBTQ ones. I don't discriminate. There are many other photographers whose work inspire me, but my primary inspiration comes from painters. Rembrandt, Vermeer, Sargent, to name a few.

Awarded Best of Zola
Steven is a hidden gem for sure. I was just browsing for wedding photographer in New York when i saw Steven. I sent him a message and within 10 minutes he replied and after 30 minutes we had a zoom meeting and booked him directly. We are a couple from Norway going to New York to get married and we wanted to take the photos in the city we both love so much. To have a photographer that know the secrets of the city aswell as the hidden gems around is truly amazing. From the first encounter to the final good bye there was true professionalism, passion and dedication to get the best photos. We would truly recommend Steven for all future events. This is not the last time we will use his services.

Hey there, my name is Bailey! I am an artist, business woman, wifey, nerd, Brooklyn-ite, and matcha fiend who’s endlessly curious about the world around me. I strive to make the world better by capturing love authentically, spreading positivity & happiness, and supporting organizations that are doing the work to preserve our planet & enrich the lives of marginalized communities. We are incredibly happy with our wedding photos! Bailey really has "the eye." Her artsy and elegant photos are magazine-worthy and really tell a story. If you're looking for the opposite of cheesy wedding photography, your search ends here. I was already quite certain I was going to book Bailey based on her portfolio alone, but the introductory video phone call sealed the deal. Bailey's warm and friendly personality really puts you at ease, and by the time our wedding day(s) (an elopement and later reception) arrived, it felt like we were having our pictures taken by a dear friend.

Maria was very quick in responding to any questions that we had and was accommodating to making sure she gave us enough time to work with us that morning. She is so easy to talk to and listened when you wanted to add or change something. Maria's quality of work was outstanding - she applied our makeup very naturally and lighter so that there was room for changes. The makeup lasted throughout the entire day and wedding, and Maria made us look extra special. As an extremely experienced makeup artist, she really listens to what you want to look like for your special day. Maria made this experience with getting our makeup done a joyful one.

We had the most incredible experience hosting our wedding at Brooklyn Winery, and I can’t rave enough about how perfect everything was! From the moment we stepped into the venue, we knew it was the perfect place to celebrate our big day. The ambiance at Brooklyn Winery is absolutely stunning—charming, intimate, and full of character, with its rustic yet elegant vibe that made our wedding feel truly special. The space itself is beautiful, and we received countless compliments from our guests on how unique and unforgettable the venue was. It set the most perfect tone for the celebration. A huge shout-out to Miranda, our event manager, who was nothing short of amazing throughout the entire planning process. From our first meeting to the wedding day itself, Miranda was incredibly detail-oriented, organized, and genuinely invested in making sure everything went smoothly. She was there every step of the way, taking care of all the little things and answering all our questions with patience and professionalism. DJ KDOT LIM

5.0

Brooklyn, NY
  • DJ
  • Starts at $1,500

Based out of Brooklyn, NY, DJ KDOT LIM (Kevin Lim) is a 20+ year professional open format DJ that brings a unique blend of nightlife, wedding, & event experience to the wedding process and day-of. With a DJ style thats both engaging & fitting at all times, he understands not only what to play, but how and when to play it most effectively. Whether it be mainstream or alternative music, there will be dancing (and singing) ensuring your celebration is unforgettable. In addition to providing DJ services & sound equipment, Kevin will provide MC services, making any announcements and introductions throughout your reception.

Hiring DJ KDOT LIM (Kevin) was the best decision we made when going through the process of hiring our vendors. I am very particular about my music and it was a TOP priority that we worked with someone that understood our vibe, vision, and overall music selection for our big day. He was such a pro and knew what to ask for our venue's AV set up, music prep, and even attending rehearsal which was totally optional for him to join. Kevin understood everything from the timing of the music for the processional, and most importantly my big entrance down the aisle. When it was time to party, he spun all the tunes I requested and also went above and beyond to DJ the most FUN set ever!!! One of my highlights from the day was my husband and I dancing to one of our favorite house tracks that I didn't even request. He just had the perfect song queued up for the right time!!! I can't imagine what the day would have been without him. He had all our guests up and dancing including my parents and uncles and aunties. The vibes were immaculate!!! Above all, his personality is so kind and chill which is the kind of person you want to be working with for such a big life event. I cannot highly recommend him enough!

If you're the kind of couple that would prefer their photographer feel like one of the guests as opposed to a paparazzi, and if when the neighbors complain about the noise, you just invite them to the party, keep reading. I take a documentary-style approach to my weddings. Roaming with a camera, I capture the candid moments and small details that make your wedding unique to you, while making sure to set aside time for a few special portraits.

Awarded Best of Zola
Steph is a wizard, ninja, and a unicorn all rolled into one. From the minute we reached out to her she immediately made us know we were in good hands. She was clear, communicative, and professional, but every time we talked it still felt like talking to an old friend. (Several of our guests assumed that she WAS an old friend of ours who happened to be a photographer — that’s how warm and chill she is.) Ahead of time she was great about getting details of exactly what we wanted, so that on the big day she just slipped in and out seamlessly without pulling us away from the fun. She was also careful to figure out exactly what we wanted the vibes of the final product to be (candid, colorful, joyful) and she delivered in spades. The finished products are beautiful and were delivered quickly (both the digital copies and the physical prints we ordered). We cannot recommend her highly enough!

Simple + Sultry

5.0

Brooklyn, NY
  • Beauty professional
  • Starts at $450

Hi! I'm Talia and in 2018 I created Simple + Sultry. I had been working in the world of weddings for a few years, and in 2017 I married my husband and my craft became that much more special to me. I want to help people glow on their big day. Everyone deserves their day of love and laughter and I want to help create the day of your dreams. Simple + Sultry was named after my artistic style. I find beauty in soft, simple yet sultry looks with a laissez-faire whim about them.

I have never in my life felt so beautiful as on my wedding day, and I cannot thank Talia enough for more than just their work -- they put up with my friends and family with continuous grace and even heroically styled flowers in my hair after the florist dropped the ball on making a hairpiece. In the end, I think my hair actually looked better than it would have -- so many of my favorite photos from the wedding are of the back of my head because my hair looked so, so, so pretty. My sister, mother-in-law, and sister-in-law, all, too, looked so stunning and perfect even after dancing and sweating all night. Talia is so talented! Any bride would be lucky to have them for HMU!

Brooklyn, NY

With over ten years of experience shooting weddings in and around New York City, Sandy brings her eye for storytelling to each event she shoots, searching for genuine emotion and candid moments that capture every couple in a timeless way. Published in Brides, New York Weddings and Brooklyn Bride, Sandy's work walks the line between fine art and documentary photography, allowing each day to unfold naturally and be remembered artfully for decades to come.

Awarded Best of Zola
We're so happy we chose Sandy to photograph our wedding. She captures emotion beautifully, and her pictures feel like true works of art. I struggled to find a photographer I loved — I think a lot of wedding photography can look cheesy, posed and stuffy — but when I saw Sandy's work, I was obsessed. Not only does her style have a natural, laidback sensibility, but it captures nature beautifully. Our wedding in a scenic spot in upstate NY, and her photos truly do the landscape justice. I loved that she shoots with both digital and color/black-and-white film. We got a great range of photos that captured the elegant-yet-relaxed vibe we were going for. She's also such an easygoing and sweet person, and it was a joy to have her by our sides all day. We highly recommend her!

Joy was incredible to work with as our Month Of Coordinator, can’t recommend her and the Taylored Events team enough! We’d already selected our venue, vendors, and design, but wanted support with ironing out final details, timelines, and day-of logistics. We initially weren’t sure if we needed a coordinator to begin with, but are so glad we went with them, especially because it made the day completely stress free, not only for us as the couple, but just as importantly, for our family and wedding party. Joy gave us a spreadsheet to help us check off everything we needed for planning, created our timeline down to the minute for the day of, coordinated all communication with vendors leading up to and throughout the wedding, oversaw our rehearsal walk-through the day before (on site), and set up our decor for us. Special touches included being so kind to our flower girls and keeping them entertained (thank you to Joy’s assistant, Lindsey) during speeches, taking phenomenal candids and Polaroids throughout (we had a camera out for guests to use during reception, pic attached), and helping with my quick dress change. Joy & team are super organized, friendly, diligent, professional, and flexible — and they really care about everyone having a great time. Everybody needs a Raquel for their wedding! We had Raquel for 3 month coordination, and words alone cannot express how organized, professional, and seamless Raquel made the three months leading up to and on wedding day. Prior to the start of our coordination with Raquel, she provided us with a very organized, detailed spreadsheet to guide us through the wedding planning process. Raquel was the organization and detail behind every idea I brought to the table and helped to make our vision a reality! Raquel was my coordinator but doubled as my wedding therapist throughout the three months! Any wedding related question we had, Raquel was always there with a very thoughtful and speedy email response. Starting at 5pm the night before our wedding when she led us through our mini walk-through, to walking down the aisle, I felt completely reassured everything would go as smoothly as possible due to Raquel’s expertise! Raquel and her team are the perfect blend of professionalism and warmth that made our day feel seamless. Her team worked effortlessly behind the scenes on the day of our wedding (even running back to my apartment to pick up forgotten ceremony programs and doing so without me even knowing!). They worked their magic and allowed my husband and I to be the guests of honor rather than the hosts. I wouldn’t have made it through the final stretch of wedding planning without Raquel and her team. I highly recommend Raquel’s coordination; she made our day effortless and unforgettable! If you are lucky enough to have Raquel be a part of your wedding era, you will not regret it. Thank you for everything Raquel, we couldn’t have done it without you!

Patricia at East River Photography was such a delight to work with! Her work was stunning and exactly what my husband and I wanted. We were blown away initially with the gorgeous engagement photos she took of us on the Brooklyn Bridge. It's always been a dream of mine to do photos at that location and she was able to capture exactly what I wanted; the towers in the background and shots of the city behind us! Just gorgeous! We shared our ideas for the wedding photos with Patricia and after a walkthrough of the venue we were set and excited to work with one another. My husband and I had a dark wedding and Patricia was very open and loved so many of our ideas, which was a breathe of fresh air! She had no judgments and was genuinely excited to work with our themes! Day of the wedding Patricia and her assistant worked tirelessly to capture all of our special moments. We wanted lots of family photos, which my husband and I both have large hispanic families, with LOTS of cousins, Tios and Tias, so it was no easy task. They got it all! I didn't have to worry day of at all where they were or if they were getting the shots we wanted. Patricia was there and ready! When we finally got the photos WE WERE BLUSHING! We had the biggest smiles on our faces as we relived our happiest day! The photos were absolutely beautiful, captured every special moment, and we couldn't be happier. Bacchus is a truly incredible little restaurant and a great place for a wedding. The food is great and we were able to put together a really special menu with them. Meryl their on staff event coordinator was amazing to work with and handled all the logistics of our big day with true French laissez faire ease. Having priced out a variety of caterers/event space/furniture rental options in addition to Bacchus, this is really a very cost effective and absolutely lovely place to get married near downtown Brooklyn.

Where to even begin! First off, my wife and I had a fairly large wedding for NYC, roughly 200 people, so when we started to look at venues, we were so nervous about what we would find. Rule of Thids was actually the first venue we saw, and we were blown away by the space. If you’re renting out the full venue, you get access to the entire restaurant, plus the event space, as well as the outdoor area. It makes the flow of the wedding so nice, so everyone wasn’t crammed into one space as they were trying to flip it for the ceremony, dinner, and dancing. We were also able to rent out the photo studio attached to the sake shop to get ready in, so we were on-site all day, which was AMAZING. We could easily discuss things with our day-of coordinator, florist, etc., and the space was so large and had impeccable light (our makeup artist and hair stylist were super happy with it!). We chose to use the venue coordinator, Julie, as our day of coordinator, and we cannot say enough good things about her. She was incredibly responsive, super organized, and comes from the wedding industry, so she brought up things that we didn’t even think to consider for the day of that were so helpful. Beyond that, she was so pleasant to work with and just had an amazing, chill vibe that everyone wants from their coordinator on the wedding day. It was also amazing that she works at the venue, so she knew all the ins and outs of the space and could easily coordinate with our other vendors. She helped ensure the bridal party was in the right places at the right time, moved people from room to room when needed, and helped us stay on track with the flow of the wedding, which was perfect and so seamless. She and the ROT team set up the entire space exactly as we envisioned, and everything looked beautiful! The venue is honestly perfect for a wedding. We were able to use private dining spaces in the venue for a photobooth and coat closet, plenty of bathrooms (not something you think about until you go to a wedding with too few!), an amazing outdoor space for guests to cool down/get away from the noise, a huge dance floor area, spacious dining room, and so many bars for our guests to go to. The staff were all amazing, endlessly refilling drinks and food, and everyone was incredibly nice. Even after all of the amazing things above, the best part about Rule of Thirds is the food. From the cocktail hour to the dessert, this food is amazing and well beyond typical wedding standards. We had so many guests tell us how good everything was, and we were told this was the first wedding at the venue where every single canape and raw bar item was eaten, so our guests were very happy! (if you can, splurge on the raw bar because it was so good!!) After the ceremony, they set up a spot for us to sample all the canapes and raw bar items, which we were super thankful for since we would never have eaten anything otherwise. We also had a very specific request for a mazeman noodle dish we had eaten when we toured the space a year prior, and the chef and team made it happen for us, which was AMAZING and so incredibly delicious. If you’re looking for a wedding venue and considering Rule of Thirds, DO IT! We wish we could relive the day all over again because it was so amazing, and we will forever be hoping someone else we know gets married here so we can experience something similar again.

Jillicious Foods & Events

5.0

Brooklyn, NY
  • Caterer
  • Starts at $20,000

Jillicious Foods is an all-in-one catering and event company dedicated to creating inspired, authentic wedding, social and corporate experiences. For us, every client represents a unique opportunity to tell a new and delicious story. Chef Jill has been telling these stories for nearly three decades. We work in a variety of cuisines, from New American to Cajun to Southeast Asian; accommodate all diets, including gluten-free, vegan, vegetarian, and pescatarian; and are proud to partner with local farms and purveyors throughout the Hudson Valley and New York City.

We had an absolutely amazing experience working with Jillicious! My husband and I are major foodies so we knew we didn’t want to have standard wedding food at our reception. We started searching for wedding caterers that would work with us to customize the perfect menu for our wedding day. Jillicious did not disappoint! We worked with Chef Jill to put together the most delicious menu of both apps and main courses. Everyone we spoke to after the wedding couldn’t stop raving about how good the food was. It honestly rivaled many of our favorite restaurants in NYC. In addition to the food, Chef Jill and her staff were amazing. They were so responsive throughout the whole wedding process and offered so many great recommendations. On the wedding day, the staff were very helpful with getting the rentals in order, setting up the tables, etc. We also had some guests thank us for how allergy conscious the wedding and staff were. We're so grateful to Jillicious for bringing our vision to life and couldn’t recommend them more! They truly contributed to an absolutely perfect wedding day!

Kendra did the best job with our wedding flowers! At first we were not sure if we even wanted a florist, given the cost of other florists in our area, but at the suggestion of a friend who worked with Kendra for her wedding a few years ago, we gave Kendra a call. She is the nicest florist who didn't make us feel bad for our (relatively) small budget, and worked with us on a beautiful floral scheme that was tasteful but exquisite -- just what we wanted! She went totally above and beyond what we paid for, providing us with a chuppah design that was extraordinary (given that we thought we could only afford something small), and a bridal bouquet/center pieces to die for. She helped us stay within our budget while giving us even more than we could dream of for florals. After speaking with other florists who laughed in our faces about our budget, Kendra was kind, accommodating, and creative with our wedding florals. She is a one-of-a-kind florist and we highly, highly recommend you hire her!

Emma was an absolute joy to work with for my wedding day makeup. Her communication was clear, organized, and timely throughout the planning process, which I really appreciated during an otherwise hectic time. The quality of Emma's work is exceptional and well worth the investment. She has an incredible ability to enhance her clients' natural beauty rather than overpower it. I felt like the best possible version of myself walking down the aisle! Some highlights working with Emma: She listened carefully to understand the look I envisioned and recommended products/techniques that brought that vision to life flawlessly. Emma made me feel so comfortable, confident, and beautiful on my wedding day. Highly recommend her services!
