With over ten years of experience shooting weddings in and around New York City, Sandy brings her eye for storytelling to each event she shoots, searching for genuine emotion and candid moments that capture every couple in a timeless way. Published in Brides, New York Weddings and Brooklyn Bride, Sandy's work walks the line between fine art and documentary photography, allowing each day to unfold naturally and be remembered artfully for decades to come.

I love people. I love families and their stories, and telling the whole sprawling narrative of a day through timeless, spontaneous images that capture emotions and moments that you might miss. I am honored to get to know people and act as a witness to their love, and I love to document your best selves on your happiest days. My goal is to be a calm force that helps you move through the day seamlessly so you can relax and enjoy as much of it as possible while still getting the images that capture the atmosphere and energy of the day: memories made visible that you'll be able to keep forever.

From the moment we first spoke with Sandy, we knew we had found the perfect wedding photographer. Sandy and her team were incredibly friendly and warm, putting us at ease from the very beginning. Sandy is extremely knowledgeable. She guided us through every step of the process and ensured our vision for the day was perfectly captured. The quality of their work was absolutely flawless - the photos are exactly what we envisioned and more, and worth every penny. On the day of our wedding, Sandy and her team were a calming presence, easy to work with, and had a great eye for capturing all the special moments. We are thrilled with the results and couldn't recommend Sandy more highly.

Sandy Soohoo is a dream. She is extremely talented and creative, knowledgeable about the industry, realistic about the challenges, reliable and responsive- all while being a joyous energy and pleasure to be around. For those reasons, I couldn't have imagined a better photographer for our wedding - or person to be by my side throughout that entire day and evening. She works with a variety of mediums (lens, cameras, flash/no flash) to obtain a variety of styles for the photos, which all turned out unique and fully capturing different "perspectives" of the event - and most importantly, capturing the true essence of the joy and outward and inner beauty of the wedding. The photos turned out beautiful, have this journalistic yet ethereal feel- an artistic quality which I believe is a rare skill. I'm so thankful for having worked with Sandy!!

Sandy truly is an artist. My partner and I couldn't be happier with how our photos turned out. But more importantly than that, working with Sandy as a professional was one of the best things about our wedding experience! From the moment I spoke to her during our initial phone consultation, I knew she was the one. It was immediately apparent that not only was Sandy extremely empathetic and truly understanding of our needs, but she also appreciated the hard work behind the scenes necessary to getting the magical photos on the big day. Our prep calls and location scouts ultimately made the wedding day go as seamlessly as possible. On the day of, I really appreciated Sandy's creative direction throughout - she always gave enough direction so you didn't feel like a deer in the headlights, while still ensuring the whole experience felt as comfortable and easygoing as possible. Even though Sandy is the expert and the artist, she always made you feel like the process was a collaboration and she is one of the few artists I've worked with who truly has zero ego. I wish I could clone her and work with her for every shoot!

Sandy was the perfect photographer for our low-key wedding in Brooklyn. She gently nudged us towards good photo decisions, while respecting our desire to keep things less traditional. We booked her because we loved her photography style and can confirm we made the right decision! Everything turned out beautifully.
