We are Forged in the North, a collective of photographers & cinematographers based out of Brooklyn, NY. All our work is a result of places we’ve been and couples we’ve fallen in love with. We may ask you to hike a dirt trail or climb into an abandoned building, because we aren’t satisfied until we know something can’t be done any better. But more than anything, we want to tell a story.     Ryan and Heidi are GEMS! We are so thankful we hired them for our wedding. I was actually sad when I had to say bye to them at the end of the night! They made the whole experience personal and fun. We just received a preview of our photos and we could not be happier with the results. All our friends and family were talking about how incredible our photographers were all day. We had 18 people in our wedding party, which is a lot of people to manage for group pictures. There was never a point where photos felt difficult or forced. It was like they were a part of our wedding party crew just enjoying the day with us. My husband and I are not extremely comfortable getting pictures taken, so we were a little nervous to have photographers following us around all day. The whole day felt natural and all of the photos captured real moments rather than posed or staged moments. They were genuine, accommodating, thoughtful, creative, and warm - basically every quality you could want in someone who is with you by your side throughout your entire wedding day. HIRE THEM NOW.

    This is the easiest part of your wedding planning. PICK THEM. Of all aspects of the wedding, the photographer was one of our highest priorities. We combed the internet researching photographers that would capture our wedding in a very specific, lovely, meanful and not cheesy way. We did what felt like days of research and found Forged In the North through a recommendation from another photographer who highly regarded their style and ease in the field. FIN is punctual, professional, kind, lovely to be around and bananas talented. I have bullied two close friends into using them and they were also thrilled with their work. Both of my sisters used them as well and the love and beautiful photos continues. I cannot recommend them enough. Also, spring for the video if you can, worth every penny.

    Ryan and Heidi should be celebrated superstars in the industry. Their talent is real and you can tell they really care about each project...just check out any wedding on their website and you'll know what I'm talking about. After meeting them and hearing from our closest friends about their experience working with Forged In The North, we knew that if one aspect of our wedding would be under control, it would be our photos and videos. We laughed, we cried, we sang, and danced. Thanks to Heidi, Ryan, and their team, these moments on our big day were captured in the best light possible.
