We don't have much to say except that Kat and her team were absolute rockstars in helping us prep for and manage our big day! Super communicative throughout the entire process, and they helped us stay on track as we approached the wedding weekend. Kat did a phenomenal job of helping guide us through the details of the schedule and the wedding with compassion and patience. One thing we also really appreciated was how they managed the timeline day of, and kept us apprised of key events as they were coming up (cake cutting, how much time left for dancing, and so on). We would highly, highly recommend Evviva!

The absolute best decision I made throughout my entire wedding planning process was hiring Carolina Hatton to help coordinate for our wedding day. I cannot imagine a more organized, thoughtful, and professional planner than Carolina! Carolina and her team went above and beyond from the moment we first spoke through even after our wedding day was over. Not only did she think of every small detail to help our day go smoothly, but her vendor recommendations and connections actually helped us save some money. Carolina worked with all of our vendors to create a foolproof timeline that allowed us to be able to relax, focus on each other, and enjoy our day with friends and family. Wedding planning can be overwhelming sometimes, but Carolina helped us make sure we were asking all the right questions at the right time. I learned later that there actually was an issue with a different vendor the day-of, however, Carolina immediately discussed with my mom and took care of business to solve the problem while ensuring I wasn’t worried about anything on my wedding day. Her team is able to execute difficult tasks at the drop of a hat. I ended up needing a quick bio break right before walking down the aisle, and her team was able to quickly and seamlessly block off a route for me to shuffle to the church bathroom in my huge gown without being seen before the ceremony. Courtney and her team are amazing!! My family was unsure about me getting a partial planner, but now they are wanting to use Courtney again when my sister gets married! Courtney made my vision come to life when it came to florals and linens, and at the same time was economically friendly and respected my budget! She was so helpful to me and my mom when she was able to explain the trends going on now vs early 90s when my mom was married :) When it came to the day of, my family and I were BLOWN away. I never had to worry about any of my belongings or vendor communication. Her team made sure everything was with me and I never had to connect with my vendors that weekend. They were attentive to me, making sure I was hydrating and eating enough. I had a BUSH FIRE outside my church ceremony and I only noticed the fire trucks were there by glancing outside (no siren while the ceremony was going on to avoid making a scene, thank goodness). Courtney and her team handled it all! The church coordinator was tough to work with and stressed as she just recently started, and Courtney was able to speak for me while also respecting the staff. I don't even want to think about a wedding without Courtney there!!

Hi! I'm Merida, owner of- you guessed it Events By Merida. Weddings to me are meant to be fun. It's a celebration of the two of you with the important people in your life, and there are no rules about how that's supposed to happen (even officiants can be optional in some states).

If you gave me a million characters in this text box I still wouldn't be able to express just how grateful I am to Merida and her team. My husband and I have been together for over two decades and had already spent an enormous amount of time thinking about our wedding over the years, but after coming out as a trans man in 2019, I quickly realized that planning a gay wedding would involve additional challenges I hadn't considered. The thought of reaching out to vendors and getting misgendered as the "bride" over and over was an incredibly anxiety-inducing prospect. I knew we needed help from someone who understood our situation and would ensure we were both treated respectfully by an incredibly cis-heteronormative industry. From the moment I engaged her, about a year before our wedding date, I knew that I'd made the right call. As a member of the community herself, Merida was my biggest advocate and fiercest champion. Her zero-tolerance policy of anyone who showed signs of homo/transphobia weeded out any problematic businesses and in just a few months she was able to book us an almost entirely queer team of vendors, all of whom did a spectacular job on the big day. I've never been so thankful to have someone like her in my corner. Each and every call with Merida was an absolute delight. Not only is she an incredible wedding/event planner, but she is one of the most delightful people I've ever had the pleasure to meet. She is brilliant, thoughtful, and hilarious, putting you instantly at ease. No matter how nerdy or esoteric our ideas, Merida was here for it and helped us bring every little detail to life. Anytime I said the words "I know this is kind of crazy but could we possibly..." she would listen attentively, smile, and reply with "We can do that." Week after week things I thought would be impossible came together and fell perfectly into place. On the day of the event (04/07/24), Merida and her team were like a SpecialOps team, complete with a full arsenal of emergency supplies the likes of which you've never seen. She kept us on schedule but never rushed us, leaving time for spontaneity; for every minor question or concern she had a plan, not one detail was overlooked. The wedding itself was absolutely perfect. I cannot stress this enough. It was PERFECT. It was everything my husband and I had ever dreamed of since we were 15 years old. Thanks to Merida there was not a single thing we had to compromise on for the sake of someone else, there was not a single bad vibe, it was truly the most beautiful, entertaining, and triumphant celebration of queer love any of us had ever experienced. I was genuinely concerned my face would break from smiling with euphoria all day. It's been over a month now and I'm getting emotional all over again just writing this review. I never thought I would be able to be my whole entire self on my wedding day. Thank you, Merida for turning my gay little anime prince dreams into reality. If you're queer, a huge nerd, or just someone who marches to the beat of their own drum, please hire Merida. She will make all of your dreams come true.

Tara was wonderful in handling our vendors and making sure everything went smoothly leading up to our big day. Even with rain changing our plans for our wedding we still had a fantastic day with no big issues coming up (that we were made aware of). Tara's assistants were so generous with their time and assisting us for random things during our getting ready process and photoshoots. Would definitely recommend working with Tara and her team to make your event go smoothly. Our wedding party and officiant also really appreciated the guidance from Tara on our wedding day.

Akua and her team were a dream, I can't recommend them highly enough! From the moment we first talked, Akua made herself so available and went above and beyond - I was looking for a day-of wedding coordinator, and Akua was actively involved for MONTHS beforehand. Akua was always extremely knowledgeable and struck the perfect balance between giving me all the advice and help I needed while also centring what I wanted. We had our wedding spread out over two days, and I'm sure a ton of things went wrong, but as the bride, I had no idea at all because Akua and her team had such a great handle on things. I'm type-A and feel comfortable only when I'm in control, and Akua made me feel like I could just float through my ceremony and reception without thinking about a single thing other than having a great time with my partner and our guests. She was also just a joy to be around, best vibes! Honestly, best decision we made all wedding was working with Akua!

Working with Miranda, Raquel, and Kylie was a true pleasure. Kylie assisted us at our rehearsal the day before our wedding, practicing the ceremony to ensure we understood the process and best practices for each bridal party member. Miranda and Raquel were there for us on our wedding date, helping set up decor, running to get breakfast for the bridal party, and being the point of contact with all our vendors. At one point, as the bride, I was getting overstimulated with all the pictures being taken in a short amount of time, and Miranda/Raquel had my back by making sure I had water and 30 minutes to center before our ceremony. Me and my now husband love weddings to begin with. We knew when our time comes, we wanted it to be special and perfect in every way. Sarah was such an important part of our wedding planning process, choosing her and her team was the best decision we made. Three months before our big day, we found ourselves busy with our friend’s weddings and also our own wedding events. The pressure was on, but it helped greatly knowing someone was there to oversee it. In our meetings, she addressed all concerns, and provided valuable solutions. There are so many minute details that are often overlooked during this process, and Sarah was on top of everything. She brought attention to things we did not even think about and asked the questions we did not know were significant. She collaborated well with our vendors to help produce a night to remember. On the day of, she made sure we were right on time without making us feel rushed. From our church wedding to the reception, she made sure that each step of the way went according to plan. We were able to be on the dance floor all night, just as we wanted without worrying about a single thing. We knew she was there working behind the scenes, ensuring everything would go smoothly. Next thing we know, light sticks and glow rings were being distributed- something we actually almost forgot because we were over the top enjoying ourselves. We cannot say enough positive things about Jaclyn and the whole TLB team. Dana was the best day of coordinator I could’ve asked for! Everything I didn’t think of or things that went wrong I didn’t even have to worry about since she had it under control. So much to say about DM events - she set up all my decor beautifully and even came up with a day of aisle floral plan, was the only person that could put in my veil, figured out a seating chart mis hap with not enough seats and SO much more. Her and her sister were an amazing team and even managed to get behind the scenes videos while keeping everything together. While I didn’t have her as a full on planner, I’m sure it would have been a much less stressful process if I did. She was great at communicating the month prior and aligning all my vendors.
