At the heart of the thriving early industrial community known as Rittenhouse Town, the first paper mill in America was built. It all began when, in 1687, papermaker William Rittenhouse followed other Quaker and Mennonite families emigrating to the newly formed neighborhood of Germantown (founded in 1683). William partnered with Philadelphia’s first printer, purchased a 20-acre plot of land along Paper Mill Run (a tributary of the Wissahickon Creek) and, with the help of his son Nicholas, built the first paper mill in British North America that otherwise could only be delivered from England. For the next 40 years, the Rittenhouse family were the only papermakers in America.

Bell Gate Farm is the perfect backdrop for any kind of event. I have one rule, however, there will never be more than one event per day. I firmly believe that you cannot concentrate and give supreme customer service when there are multiple activities going on the same day. When you rent Bell Gate, you are getting every nook and cranny, and that allows us to play a little bit. We can have a cocktail hour at the pool, but move dinner to the barn, and it feels like you’ve changed venue’s completely. Bolero is a hidden gem located in the heart of Fishtown. Our venue offers a modern chic design that allows an indoor and outdoor experience. Envisioning a beautiful garden ceremony in the Terrace to a stunning reception with inclusive catering packages by Joshua's Catering, a diverse company that customizes menus to each client. Bolero was Designed by owner Jesse Muñoz. This building was originally called the Philadelphia Saving Fund Society. It was founded in December 1816 as the first savings bank to organize and do business in the United States. When you enter Bolero you are taking a step back in history. A time when service in hospitality was the staple of every event. Housed in a historic bank building we offer 4 unique venues. Our Speakeasy graces the ground level topped by the first-floor Vault Room and then the crowning glory is our Grand Ballroom with soaring 25ft ceilings and arched windows. We also have an urban oasis of a courtyard perfect for receptions and ceremonies.

The German Society of Pennsylvania is a historic, three-story brick building with a classic Colonial touch, and is an elegant setting for a Philadelphia wedding. The property offers several venues for every stage of your celebration. The Joseph Horner Memorial Library offers a unique space, with two stories and galleried bookcases. The antique furniture and wood paneling will evoke Belle’s library. The Auditorium, with its distinctly Colonial architecture, is an elegant ceremony venue, but is also perfect for a reception, with plenty of space for dining and dancing. For your cocktail hour, celebrate with your guests in the Ratskeller, a cozy dining room with a tavern atmosphere, or on the spacious and shady Leidy Terrace.
