The Historical Society of Princeton’s Updike Farmstead is six acres of beautiful, lush property, including a barn and farmhouse in the heart of the Princeton Battlefield/Stony Brook Settlement Historic District. This unique, unparalleled location, surrounded by preserved farmland, is the perfect setting for weddings. Updike Farmstead has has become a destination-style venue within Princeton for those looking to create the wedding of their dreams. Our exclusive caterers provide day-of coordination for your wedding. This includes ordering the rentals that will capture your unique vision; be it farm tables, boho dinnerware sets, bistro lighting, or vintage lounge furniture. They also set up the barn to your specifications and break down the rentals at the end of the evening. Available late April through early November.

Updike Barn

Stunning historic barn on six acres of beautiful farmland in Princeton NJ. Newly renovated, it has become a premier event space.

The barn at Updike Farmstead is rich with history. With beautiful vaulted rafters, and hemlock beams that date from the 1500’s, the barn represents the craftsmanship of the American barn style. Double barn doors open onto a private courtyard facing a sweep of farmland. An adjacent sliding barn door opens to the front of the property, facing rustic outbuildings, a windmill, and a large lawn perfect for cocktail hour and yard games. The barn blends classic rustic charm with modern amenities.

    Updike Farmstead was a picturesque, breathtaking backdrop for our wedding and we could not have imagined a more beautiful place to say “I do”! The facilities are excellent and the event coordinators are top notch, we were in great hands the entire time. Updike is also conveniently close to downtown Princeton without being in the center of town bustle. Our guests loved spending time in the area overall.
