About this venue

Conveniently located in Wilmington, Delaware, The Farmhouse is family owned and operated and hosts one event per day. The historical estate boasts a beautiful outdoor ceremony site underneath romantic willow trees & four acres of manicured grounds and gardens. Hosting up to 190 guests, the Farmhouse offers numerous indoor spaces for your event including the bright and open main terrace hall, indoor lounge and bar, dressing suites and more. Outside, a large wrap around deck and patio overlook the gazebo bar & gardens. The Farmhouse is proud to be a women-owned business, still managed by the fourth generation of the Murray family. As a small family-run business, the Farmhouse provides a personal touch and flexibility in hosting your dream wedding.

Delaware's hidden gem.

Upon arriving at the Farmhouse, your guests will enter underneath a covered front porch, designed with ornate metal railings and overlooking our beautiful front walkway and gardens.

Indoor Bar & Guest Lounge

The Farmhouse has both an indoor bar and an outdoor gazebo bar.

The indoor bar features dark wood accents, gleaming crystal glassware displays, and a large bar top for guests to spread out across.

Adjacent to the indoor bar, the guest lounge provides additional room for guests to mingle and adds to the intimate feel of the Farmhouse.

Historic Mulberry Room

There is plenty of space to seat up to 190 guests, utilizing both the Main Hall and the Mulberry Room.

The Mulberry Room features an antique brick fireplace, gleaming hardwood floors, and space for additional guest tables (if needed). The space can also be utilized for indoor portraits or other uses.

The Patio & Gazebo Bar

Located on the lower level of the patio, the gazebo bar is accented by cafe lights and features a full bar setup.

Directly outside the main ballroom, french doors open up to a wrap-around deck and patio that overlooks our gardens and two gazebos. Guests can mingle and enjoy the deck and outdoor space during the entire reception. The deck and outdoor gazebo bar are partially covered, allowing use of the space during inclement weather.

The outdoor tables and chairs provide the perfect spot for cocktail hour or after-dinner conversation. Bistro lights, up-lighting, and candle-lit lanterns provide a lovely ambiance.

Dressing Suites

The Farmhouse offers two separate dressing areas for the wedding party to utilize when getting ready and during the reception.

Upstairs suites: situated on the second floor of The Farmhouse, the main dressing room boasts an antique silver floor mirror underneath a beautiful chandelier, as well as an updated private bathroom. The adjoining room features a table and chairs, as well as more room to spread out. Downstairs suite: furnished with a leather sofa, television and table & chairs, there is also an adjoining private bathroom

Main Terrace Hall

Dark wood chiavari chairs and round banquet tables add to its romantic yet modern rustic feel.

Expansive bay windows behind the sweetheart table provide a romantic backdrop for pictures of the wedding couple and countless views of the surrounding gardens. Airy french doors surrounding the dance floor open up to the large wrap-around deck with two pavilions and the outdoor gazebo bar.
