Shutter & Sound

5.0

  • Fine art style
  • Starts at $2,600
  • Serves Brooklyn, NY

Hi! Courtney here (that's me on the left!). Shutter and Sound is the brainchild of renowned wedding videographer Ryan Geldermann. Ryan began his wedding videography career in 2010 in Los Angeles and quickly became recognized as one of the top videographers in the U.S.. After relocating to DC and still receiving countless inquiries from all corners of the country, Ryan decided to recruit and train a few talented friends so he could continue offering the quality wedding videography he’s known for in SoCal and eventually over 10 cities. Shutter and Sound is a very small group of filmmakers dedicated to turning your big day into a work of art.

I recently used Shutter & Sound for my wedding and they were fantastic! The team was super friendly and really skilled at capturing all the important moments without being intrusive. They worked seamlessly with our other vendors which made everything go smoothly. When we got our photos and videos back, we were blown away by the quality and how they managed to capture the feel of our special day perfectly. Highly recommend them to anyone looking for top-notch wedding photography and videography!

Steven Rosen Photography

5.0

Brooklyn, NY
  • Fine art style
  • Starts at $2,200

I have been a photographer for the last 20 years, shooting weddings, elopements and portraits. I'm proud to have shot more than 150 same-sex weddings, which is probably more than, well, just about anyone. That said, I’ve worked with as many straight couples as LGBTQ ones. I don't discriminate. There are many other photographers whose work inspire me, but my primary inspiration comes from painters. Rembrandt, Vermeer, Sargent, to name a few.

Awarded Best of Zola
Steven photographed our wedding and prepared photos and an album for us. His work throughout was excellent, from input on a schedule for photos during the event, to posing the family and guests, suggesting positive changes to some steps of the ceremony, capturing great moments, keeping the day on track, and working with us on the album. His layout and editing for the album were terrific, very professional, attentive to themes and telling the story through images, and with a great eye for combinations. We recommend Steven without hesitation for your special days!

Kayla Tiffany Photography

5.0

Brooklyn, NY
  • Fine art style

Hi, I'm Kayla! I'm so glad you're here! I was asked to talk about why I'm passionate about my work. Well for one, I love meeting new couples. It brings me a lot of joy creating images for couples who want to preserve timeless memories. It's not just about the images but really connecting with my couples to make sure to make sure they have an effortless experience with me.

I’m the owner of Koat Floral. I’ve been working with numerous photographers since I started my job as a florist and I can say that Kayla was the best photographer I’ve ever worked with. I won’t describe how amazing her work is, because you’ll notice it within a second right after you visit her website or Instagram page. I adore her clean, classic and elegant style. Her photography never fails to capture the brightest/happiest moment of the couple. If I get married one day, Kayla will be the first vendor I will book(only If her availability allows it). Besides her amazing work, I want to mention how amazing of a person she is. Kayla is such a bright and friendly person. She makes the whole mood very easy and comfortable. Mostly, couples are not comfortable when they pose in front of others and cameras. But, with Kayla, it was totally different. The whole photoshoot seemed so much fun. I can hear the couple’s laughter and jokes throughout the whole shooting. When you see Kayla’s photos, you can see the couples’ genuine smiles. Those are hard to fake. The other one is her punctuality. Kayla is never late! Always come onsite earlier and even she sent the sneak peek photos so much earlier than it was scheduled(can you believe it?)! Normally, it takes a long time for the other photographers to send the photos and often it could be even delayed. But Kayla, she was the only photographer who sent the photos so much earlier. She said she couldn't wait to see the photos; that’s why she edited the photos without sleeping. I was genuinely touched by her work ethic and her passion towards her work. I’m so lucky to know Kayla because I've learned a lot from and been inspired by her and it’s always good to be surrounded by nice people. I hope many of you could have the same experience as I’ve done with Kayla. I LOVE YOU, KAYLA!!!

PhotoDH

5.0

Brooklyn, NY
  • Fine art style
  • Starts at $5,500

This isn’t about me loving coffee or early morning bike rides along the water, but it’s about capturing your special day and making you feel comfortable in front of the camera. I’ve always said that life is too short to not have it documented. It’s this philosophy that has propelled me into the world of photography. I am a fellow New Yorker who loves preserving timeless memories through photography. My photographic style is photojournalistic in the sense that all my photos build onto the next, creating a narrative story. I am here to provide you a rich and memorable experience, one that you cannot get anywhere else in the world.

I've had the pleasure of working with Jaymo of PhotoDH on multiple occasions. As a a peer and fellow wedding vendor, I've watched him and the PhotoDH team deliver an experience that truly delivers beyond any client expectations. Refined, intentional and detail-oriented are three adjectives that I would use to define the work that they do. He has been so kind to share galleries of past clients that we've shared. As a florist, photographs of details in the wedding are so integral in defining the over all creative direction, vision and distinctive story a client tells. He captures them all in multiple light settings, multiple angles and perspectives. After viewing his galleries, I realized nothing is overlooked which truly characterizes how much effort he and his team give to a clients wedding day. I cannot full heartedly recommend him enough.

Jenica Elena Studio

5.0

Brooklyn, NY
  • Fine art style
  • Starts at $3,500

Hi, my name is Jenica! I'm a wedding photographer and filmmaker based in New York City. Equipped with a BFA degree in photography and documentary production, a few cameras, and an old station wagon, I drove cross country from Utah to New York City in 2010. I went back to school for my MFA in photography at Hartford Art School and graduated in 2020.

My husband and I often say that booking Jenica was the best decision we made for our wedding. She did our engagement photos, photography for our small Covid church wedding, and both photo and video for our delayed large wedding celebration. Each time we received work from her, I thought she couldn’t possibly top herself—but she always did!! Our photos from each event are somehow curated, bespoke, perfect, and bright—while also looking real and representative of us. I was so worried to have wedding photos that looked cheesy or that didn’t feel like me, like so many of my friends had. But somehow Jenica managed to capture the essence of our relationship and personalities to a tee, while also making it look like journalistic art! I am in love with all my photos and always will be; I know they will continue to look classic for years to come. Not to mention—Jenica and any team she brings along are always a delight to work with. When we parted ways after our third time working together, I truly felt we had built a friendship. She was a comforting presence to me on every big stressful day she photographed—I felt I could look to her for leveling and support. Through many adjusted timelines and events, she was always flexible and kind in a sea of pandemic wedding planning chaos. I could not recommend Jenica more highly to anyone who is considering—I continue to recommend her to all my friends and hope to continue to work with her for years to come!

Hilo & Ginger

5.0

Brooklyn, NY
  • Fine art style
  • Starts at $6,000

Hilo & Ginger was founded by me in 2013. Born in Austria and raised around the world, the traveling gene has been soever present. I am based in New York City, shooting weddings & editorials worldwide.

Luca, at Hilo & Ginger, was an absolute gem to work with! You will not find a more versatile, go-with-the-flow, able to adapt to anything photographer. She is professional, hard-working and personable which really puts you at ease while you are posing and standing for tons of pictures throughout the day. Sometimes we didn't even know she was there capturing the greatest candid shot. Seriously, we cannot recommend her enough. The last thing you want on your wedding day is to feel stressed and Luca makes sure to alleviate any potential stress, while staying on top of her A game with every shot!! Luca never missed a single moment- not one. She captured moments that we didn't even know had existed, until we were looking over our photos together. She perfectly captured all the joy of our day in laughing candids, funny photos and still took some of the most gorgeous and breathtaking shots I've ever seen. Did I mention she did the entire shoot in the rain in freezing cold weather? Not once did she complain and the photos she took came out stunning. She was ready to work on the fly in any environment. Like I said, a no-stress wedding photographer is absolutely a MUST when it comes to weddings ladies, trust me! When my husband, James, and I got married in NYC, we were very worried that we would not be able to find a quality photographer in Manhattan that would fit our limited budget, but Luca exceeded our expectations in giving us a great deal that fit right within our budget and she gave us GORGEOUS photos. Not to mention she sent us some of the edited photos the same day...THE SAME DAY. I'm telling you, working with Luca was unlike any other experience I've had, witnessed at other weddings, or heard of from my friends. 10/10 would recommend. You would be foolish not to consider hiring Hilo & Ginger to make your wedding dreams come true.

I’m Edgar, an HTX-raised native with Salvadorian roots. I am the owner, creative director, and lead photographer at Anchor Studios Photography. I'm a wedding and elopement photographer based out of Pittsburgh, PA! However, the stories I capture don't start and end there. I love to travel to capture stories all around the world.

Edgar is the best! He was fun to be around and up for anything. He traveled hours to meet us and even went on a pretty buggy/muddy hike to capture the most incredible photos. We are both so awkward in front of a camera and he immediately made us comfortable - such an important skillset! We can't wait to see him again next June for our wedding, and have so much faith that he will hit it out of the park again!

Hey, I'm Mary! It's nice to meet you. Summing up who I am in an "about me" is always difficult. What you must know: (1) I'm a nerd. If you want to talk video games, LOTR or Doctor Who, we HAVE to sit down for a bourbon or a coffee. (2) Yes, I will be out on that dance floor with you snapping away while joining in on the fun. And (3), while I'm a photographer first, supporting you during the planning process feels crucial to me - from building a timeline to having your back any way I can.

Mary was with us through our proposal, engagement, and wedding journey. She captured all of our special moments so perfectly. She is professional and always communicated with us to deliver us her best work!! We couldn’t have asked for a better person to capture our most perfect memories.

Hi! My name is Madison, but you can call me Maddi. Raised in Maryland, I've lived in Colorado, South Dakota, and Germany. I now live in Philly with my husband and our two dogs. After so many moves, Philly really is the place that feels like home. I've always had a love for photography and I feel privileged to bring my passion to life. I want my photos to capture the genuine feeling of the moment and to reflect you and your story.

Awarded Best of Zola
We are absolutely thrilled with our experience with Madison! From the moment we met, she was incredibly friendly and easy to talk to. She made the whole process feel so natural and enjoyable, which was so important on such a big day. Not only was she professional, but she went above and beyond in ways we didn’t expect. For example, when I was struggling to pin something to my dress, she immediately jumped in to help—something totally outside her job description, but she did it with a smile and made sure everything was perfect. It was those little thoughtful gestures that truly set her apart. And of course, the photos are nothing short of stunning! We absolutely love her style and the way she uses color. She made sure to capture every important moment, and we now have beautiful memories to cherish forever. We couldn't have asked for a better photographer and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for not just a photographer, but someone who genuinely cares about making your day perfect.

Lindsay and Nathan are an incredible team. From booking them two years ago, doing our engagement session, and now having gotten sneak peaks back from our wedding that was just 2 days ago, I’m completely blown away by how incredible they have been! Lindsay is a complete pro. Group photos flew by because she was so great at directing and wrangling everyone. I had multiple people comment on how she was EVERYWHERE non-stop at our wedding, doing an amazing job the whole time! I just know she got every picture I wanted and more, and with how gorgeous our sneak peaks turned out I know I’ll absolutely love them! She and Nathan were so on top of everything, and made us feel completely comfortable in front of the camera. Not only that, she truly went above and beyond helping to safety pin a rip in my dress. The day was a whirlwind but Lindsay and Nathan made it so easy! I would hire them a million times over!

Hi there! I’m Emma CotéEwers, your East Coast & Destination Wedding and Lifestyle Photographer! My work is a seamless blend of traditional heirloom portraiture, lively artistic shots, and a little photojournalism if the day calls for it. With a true-to-color, film-inspired approach, I strive to craft visuals that capture love, laughter, and those beautifully authentic moments that weave together the story of your wedding! I feel like these should include fun facts? Patsy Cline’s Walkin’ After Midnight is my favorite song and I am currently on my 8th nostalgic binge of Gilmore Girls (which might just be fueling my banter lately).

I cannot say enough good things about Emma - she is always flexible, knowledgeable, and shows up with the best energy to every event! When I wasn’t sure where I wanted to take bridals, she was happy to make suggestions based on the vibe I was going for - and I very much appreciated one less thing on my plate! Hey! I'm Jess, the owner of the company that's named after me - shocking, right? I'm from the suburbs of Philly but now live up in the mountains of Northeast PA in Montrose, right on the border of Central NY. I'm married to a woodworker (who HAD to be the inspiration behind Ron Swanson because they're the same human), we live on 25 acres with three huge dogs (2 Golden Retrievers and one Great Pyrenees) and three ducks - and I'm constantly begging for more animals. I'm outgoing, sarcastic & humorous, and I love organization/cleaning, sushi, reading, The Office, and traveling everywhere I can.

Jenny Flora Photography

Before I ever held a camera, as a kid I was obsessed with organizing and reorganizing printed family snapshots in albums. This infatuation with captured moments, led to picking out my first film camera, a 35mm Pentax, film developing and darkroom printing in high school, and then my BFA in Photography Degree. From there, I worked in varied sectors of photography, but my true passion lay in documentary work that could bring about awareness of challenging global situations. I have published and exhibited journalistic series internationally, notably at Oxford University and Aperture Foundation.

Jenny is an absolute gem! We are so happy we found her to photograph our modern beach wedding at The Wave in Long Branch, NJ. Jenny has an amazing eye and took advantage of all the beautiful aspects of the venue allowing for a great variety of photos. And a good mix of candid and posed shots. It was so apparent that takes such pride in her work and loves the art, making us feel so comfortable and calm the entire time. Both my husband and I are camera shy but Jenny gave us clear direction and took into consideration everything we were and weren’t looking for. Jenny and Camilla were also extremely flexible and supportive the entire day. We can’t thank them enough for their enthusiasm and dedication. It’s so apparent in their work. Thank you, Chris & Danielle

Storytelling by Tony & Olya

5.0

  • Fine art style
  • Starts at $4,200
  • Serves Brooklyn, NY

We’ve stood in your shoes, and we know how important it is to capture a story full of meaning and heart. Our goal is to narrate the day as we see it, embracing every emotion and sentiment that unfolds. With over a decade of experience, we’ve told countless stories—sometimes we can predict the moments, and other times they surprise us. But we’re always excited to discover and capture the next amazing story.

Awarded Best of Zola
Olya and Tony are on a completely different level. It’s truly art when you watch someone love what they do. They are professionals and skilled craftsmen. For example, we originally planned to have our first look at a nearby park, but they suggested that we book a private area instead. Both my fiancé and I were skeptical and unsure if we should, since it required us to spend a little more. All I can say is that I’m glad we did. You can’t control the weather, and on the day of our wedding, it rained. Thanks to their advice, we have some of the best photos I’ve ever seen. During our first look, Tony directed me on where to stand, while Olya guided the bride. She fixed her dress when needed and noticed minor details most people would overlook. And don’t get me started on the actual wedding—Tony, like a magician, was able to capture key moments and genuine reactions. During out wedding both Tony and Olya directed us on how to stand, where we should place our hands and which way we should look. They communicated with us and coached us through each photo. Before the wedding they helped us plan a timeline and were quick to respond if we needed to make changes. The two of them are a blast to have around and the results are something else. I couldn’t be happier with how things turned out.
