  • Starts at $6,000

With over ten years of experience shooting weddings in and around New York City, Sandy brings her eye for storytelling to each event she shoots, searching for genuine emotion and candid moments that capture every couple in a timeless way. Published in Brides, New York Weddings and Brooklyn Bride, Sandy's work walks the line between fine art and documentary photography, allowing each day to unfold naturally and be remembered artfully for decades to come.

Awarded Best of Zola
Sandy Soohoo is a dream. She is extremely talented and creative, knowledgeable about the industry, realistic about the challenges, reliable and responsive- all while being a joyous energy and pleasure to be around. For those reasons, I couldn't have imagined a better photographer for our wedding - or person to be by my side throughout that entire day and evening. She works with a variety of mediums (lens, cameras, flash/no flash) to obtain a variety of styles for the photos, which all turned out unique and fully capturing different "perspectives" of the event - and most importantly, capturing the true essence of the joy and outward and inner beauty of the wedding. The photos turned out beautiful, have this journalistic yet ethereal feel- an artistic quality which I believe is a rare skill. I'm so thankful for having worked with Sandy!!

AnnAnn Puttithanasorn Photography

5.0

Brooklyn, NY
  • Editorial style
  • Starts at $3,500

I started my journey as a portrait & fashion photographer, working with modeling agencies and brands, primarily in New York City and Dallas. I would describe my style as authentic, editorial, and timeless. My love for photographing couples and their unique love stories stemmed from my love of photojournalism. Your story existed long before I stepped in and I want to honor that. I strive to capture each raw moment as it is — organically, as it unfolds. With a background in fashion and editorial work, I also incorporate romantic poses that truly make each couple shine. This guarantees beautiful imagery to look back on for years to come.

Awarded Best of Zola
I've worked with AnnAnn on several shoots and her work is phenomenal. She's very creative and has an eye for the right backgrounds, locations, poses and even the clothes/styling. If you're someone who is shy in front of the camera AnnAnn makes you feel extremely comfortable and can guide you on poses to make sure you look your best. AnnAnn is also organized, responsive, punctual and kind. Book her and you won't regret it!

Heather has been shooting weddings for the past decade and is an award-winning photographer. Her work has been published in fashion-forward magazines and exhibited at Scope, Miami, FL, Woman Made Gallery, Chicago, IL, New Apostle Gallery, New York, NY, and other galleries. Olker Wedding Photo was featured on Zola as a preferred vendor and the business has earned “The Best of Weddings” award and the “Couple’s Choice” award. She is an expert in her field and holds a Master of Fine Art in Photography from the School of Visual Arts.

Awarded Best of Zola
Where do I begin, Heather is an incredible talented photographer to work with! Goes above and beyond to do a great job! Through a recommendation of a professional wedding hair stylist, we were introduced to "Heather Olker Photography". From the start, Heather's approach and her overall personality was one that aligned completely with us. You will come across several vendors during the wedding planning process that have overpowering personalities.. Heather and her team are very well organized, responsive, sweet, helpful and communicated very well with us and with our coordinator at the venue. She helped us in creating the perfect timeline for our wedding day, made us feel completely comfortable through the process. Responded promptly to all our questions and concerns. She traveled from NY to Boston to photograph our engagement photo session, and wedding photos. Which we absolutely love!!! All things being equal, my husband and I are not the most photogenic people ;) The engagement photo session (which I encourage everyone to get one, if only as an opportunity to get to know your photographer before the big day) it allowed us an opportunity to see Heather as someone who completely goes with the flow with our collective vision. There is so much attention to detail you put into your wedding day and those memories are all now fleeting. But investing in someone like Heather and her professional team for your wedding day, capturing the pictures of not just you, but more importantly to us - our family and close friends - was the wisest investment that we could have made last summer. If you're wondering whether or not to book her as your photographer for your special day, don't hesitate. There is no one better! We Highly recommend her. Thank you once again Heather "Heather Olker Photography". Much appreciated, Claudia & Greg

Hiba Eddine

5.0

Brooklyn, NY
  • Editorial style
  • Starts at $8,000

Hi! I’m photographer with a strong passion for documenting love stories. I believe in allowing the natural flow and emotions ofthe day unfold on its own; capturing real unscripted moments thatcelebrate the beauty of each couple's unique love story. My ability toblend into the background, while still effortlessly capturing everyimportant moment, ensures a genuine and organic representation ofyour wedding day.I fell in love with the artistic charm of film photography that bringsa unique and nostalgic quality to your photos. And by combining that with digital imagery, I create a collection of photographs that are both captivating and timeless.

Awarded Best of Zola
Hiba removed any stress I had about photos as a nervous bride who did not feel confident or comfortable being in front of a camera all day. She spent time getting to know us and made sure we were able to capture amazing, memorable photos, without losing sight of the actual point of the day and party we were there to enjoy. Multiple times she seamlessly adapted our shot plan on-the-fly to let us have more time to be with guests or have a moment to ourselves when she sensed we needed it. ALSO she was a baby whisperer with our flower girl and turned frowns into smiles and I'm still not sure how she did that. Highly recommend Hiba!

Blythe Thomas

5.0

Brooklyn, NY
  • Editorial style
  • Starts at $1,500

Hi! I'm Blythe. I've worked primarily as a music video director and photographer for over 10 years. Along the way, I've taken photos of couples and loved ones during some of their most special moments - proposals, weddings, engagements, elopements, births. I truly find it to be such an honor and joy getting to capture timeless images with wonderful people.

Blythe is a genius and a dream to work with! She is so helpful and intuitive; she gave us exactly what we wanted (and helped show us what that is without us really even knowing!). Our pictures are full of personality, showcasing the love and joy between us and our guests better than we could have imagined. Blythe's presence was warm, and she navigated the space gracefully and efficiently, making sure to chat with our (lovable and often nosy) family and friends when they wanted to know more about our amazingly cool photographer. I cannot say enough good things about Blythe's work and presence, and will be recommending her to everyone I know for years to come. Thank you Blythe!!!!

Forged in the North

5.0

Brooklyn, NY
  • Editorial style

We are Forged in the North, a collective of photographers & cinematographers based out of Brooklyn, NY. All our work is a result of places we’ve been and couples we’ve fallen in love with. We may ask you to hike a dirt trail or climb into an abandoned building, because we aren’t satisfied until we know something can’t be done any better. But more than anything, we want to tell a story. And you are the story. So come find that perfect light with us and we’ll capture you just as you are.

Awarded Best of Zola
Ryan and Heidi are GEMS! We are so thankful we hired them for our wedding. I was actually sad when I had to say bye to them at the end of the night! They made the whole experience personal and fun. We just received a preview of our photos and we could not be happier with the results. All our friends and family were talking about how incredible our photographers were all day. We had 18 people in our wedding party, which is a lot of people to manage for group pictures. There was never a point where photos felt difficult or forced. It was like they were a part of our wedding party crew just enjoying the day with us. My husband and I are not extremely comfortable getting pictures taken, so we were a little nervous to have photographers following us around all day. The whole day felt natural and all of the photos captured real moments rather than posed or staged moments. They were genuine, accommodating, thoughtful, creative, and warm - basically every quality you could want in someone who is with you by your side throughout your entire wedding day. HIRE THEM NOW.

Chaz Cruz Photographers

5.0

Brooklyn, NY
  • Editorial style

Chaz Cruz specializes in editorial portraiture and weddings. His style and humor brings out unique characteristics in his subjects which turn the photograph into something unique. Always looking at new ways to use found and created light, he enjoys producing new photographs that otherwise would not be encountered.

Awarded Best of Zola
Chaz is more than just a photographer--he helped my husband with his pocket square, he was attentive and grabbed my purse whenever I needed, he was calm when giving updates on delays, he was a visionary, a comfort, and a professional. His energy is warm, uplifting, and enthusiastic. His work is detail orientated and full of spirit. From our first interview with him to the days following the wedding, he was communicative and caring. I'll never forget the moment of seeing Chaz take photographs of the windy trees during our rehearsal dinner (right before it started pouring rain-the most epic adventure!!) and thinking, "I'm so glad Chaz is here." From the unexpected to the beautiful, I knew he would capture the authenticity of every moment and gosh did he deliver. His work speaks for itself in its aliveness but to experience first hand what it's like to be in front of his lens is truly something special. I felt completely at ease and I know our family and friends did too. What we've seen so far has moved us to tears--he captured our love. The Sunday after our wedding, our friend said to us, "you don't need your wedding photographer to be someone you want to be friends with, but it's pretty cool when it happens." It absolutely is.

Liesl NYC

4.7

Brooklyn, NY
  • Editorial style
  • Starts at $2,500

Hi! I’m Liesl, founder of Liesl nyc. I started my career at an old time photo tourist trap in South Dakota and came to the big city to be a fashion photographer (with a few stops along the way.) Though I found a love for portraits and weddings and made that my focus, I’ve kept the editorial aesthetic. Though I’ve lived in Brooklyn for 15 years I’ve kept the South Dakota demeanor. A calm and comfortable presence helps a lot when you’re not used to being followed around by a photographer. Getting great pictures shouldn’t be intimidating. It’ll be way more fun than you think

We had a wonderful experience working with Alexis from Photo Pink. Alexis was professional and the perfect mix of go with the flow while making sure she got the best shots! My only complaint would be that it did take a long time to get the photos and we had to follow up with Liesl a few times about when to expect them. She always responded to those messages promptly though and tried to keep us updated about when we would get our gallery. It was well worth the wait because the photos are exactly what we wanted! Would definitely recommend Photo Pink@

I truly have nothing but the highest praise and appreciate for One Night Cereus! Quyn 100% surpassed our greatest expectations for our engagement and wedding photos! At first we felt nervous behind the camera, but immediately upon meeting Quyn, she made us feel completely at ease and comfortable. At times we forgot she was even there when she was taking the photos. She captured all the moments we had hoped for and so many more special moments! Her down to earth and friendly personality made the whole environment on a stressful day very calm and relaxed. The photos were unbelievable and we can’t stop looking at them, even now, 7 months after our wedding! We are forever grateful!

She scouted locations with us around our venue to make sure every shot had the perfect background and kept our entire bridal party smiling and laughing throughout the pre-wedding photos. She captured so many beautiful moments and did a fabulous job making everyone look their best. I've had so many friends and family members chose to work with Yumi after meeting her at our wedding! ECHOES & WILD HEARTS

5.0

Brooklyn, NY
  • Editorial style
  • Starts at $4,200

Oh hey, Liron here. I've been shooting weddings for over 12 years now and have traveled all around the globe to document couples on their big day. I am driven by the sense of nostalgia and my mission is to create honest images that will echo through time.

Echoes and Wild Hearts work speaks for itself. If you love the vibe of their portfolio (which we did), you will not be disappointed. Go for it! We found EAWH through Wedding Artists Co on Instagram, initially looking for videographer as we were already very close to booking another photographer. However, once we got on the phone with Liron, we went all in on EAWH to streamline planning and keep things looking consistent. We wanted a very non-wedding, wedding photographer/videographer who would capture the feeling of our day. I feel awkward in front of the camera and cringed at the idea of pose-y photos, Liron and his second shooter captured everything better than we could have imagined and put us totally at ease. We got married in the Catskills and it was 100 degrees and full humidity on our day and somehow everyone looks lovely in the photos when in reality we were melting... Liron is truly a photo wizard. He also shot our welcome party the night before and our afterparty- all fantastic! From the initial phone calls and emailing about logistics during planning, to seamlessly blending in with us on site and making us feel totally comfortable and like our best selves, to photo/video delivery post event, it was a total pleasure working with EAWH at every step! Perhaps even more importantly, I truly feel the work EAWH delivered to us are some of the best wedding photos and video I've ever seen. We love Liron!

Brooke and Sam were such a joy to work with. This was the first time we have hired a photographer for a special event and we are so glad we did. During our search, one thing that stood out to us was how couples in their photos looked so natural, happy, and were all smiles! They are super fun, easy going, and accommodating especially after having to reschedule. From the start, Brooke made us feel comfortable and was even willing to help us take our engagement photos with some alpacas! On our wedding day, Brooke and Sam kept us calm, on schedule, and really captured the fun all the guests were having, especially in the bounce house :) and on the dance floor! We really loved that they were up for anything and also seemed to enjoy themselves as well. All the photos were amazing and came right on schedule. We are so grateful to have found Brooke and Sam and hope to work with them again in the future. Thanks! -S+S

Hey there, I'm Emma! I am an outgoing and free-spirited photographer living in Manhattan (but born & raised in the Midwest! My heart longs for creating art and telling remarkable stories. I love a good trip to the farmers market, a wine night with my friends, and spending time with my loved ones.

Awarded Best of Zola
I considered myself pretty laid-back when it came to most aspects of wedding planning, but I was certain about wanting high-quality, true-to-color, beautiful photographs that would stand the test of time and capture the unique details of our day. After extensive research, I discovered Emma's work on Instagram. From our first meeting, my husband and I knew she was the perfect fit. Not only was her work stunning, but Emma was also easy to talk to and genuinely fun. I loved that we did an engagement session first and would recommend this to everyone if possible. It was a fantastic opportunity for us to get to know Emma better and feel comfortable being photographed. Emma also made it a point to meet with us again in person before the wedding to go over planning details. The effort she put into spending time with us before the wedding truly paid off because it felt like she really understood us. We received the photos quickly after the wedding, and they are beautiful and timeless. Some shots turned out so cool that I feel like we could be in a magazine. Emma kept us on schedule throughout the day and managed our family with grace. I am so grateful that being photographed on the day was an enjoyable experience—none of it felt stuffy or burdensome; it was like hanging out with a great friend. Emma, we are eternally grateful to you! Additionally, I think it's worth mentioning, given the current discussions about wedding photography on social media, that Emma provided several full galleries upfront with different types of lighting once I expressed interest in working with her. There was no ambiguity about her style, and I really appreciated her encouragement to do the engagement session as a way to get to know each other better. She is a true professional through and through!

Emily was great! She was very communicative right from the start, and made sure we were on the same page about any specific shots we wanted right away. We got our sneak peaks extremely promptly (Monday after the wedding) which was so appreciated. Emily is experienced at weddings, which was super evident in how she worked with the coordinator and DJ to make sure she got every shot, and how she was barely noticeable with her camera but got the most amazing pictures! I still can't believe she captured these timeless moments that were so important to us (first look reaction, vow readings, candid moments with friends).

About wedding photographers in Brooklyn, NY

How much does a wedding photographer typically cost in Brooklyn, NY?

A Brooklyn, NY wedding photographer ranges from $400 to $20,000 and averages at $3,000.
