The Brooklyn Beats is the inaugural event/wedding band founded by music industry veteran, Jon Shiffman. Jon is best known for his live work as a drummer for Grammy winner Jack Antonoff in the bands Steel Train and Bleachers. He has toured all over the world and his drumming can be heard on various National TV Commercials, and is featured in the 2024 release of Paramount Pictures’ Mean Girls movie. Named after a 1932 jazz standard, Street of Dreams Jazz Band from New York City is a vintage jazz and swing group with a lush, romantic sound. Cole Porter, George Gershwin, Duke Ellington, Irving Berlin, and Hoagy Carmichael are a few of their favorite composers. Listeners will be transported back to the era when swing was king in NYC.

Inspired by neo-soul greats like D’Angelo and Erykah Badu, Fake Tapes is all about the pleasure principle. Lead singer Kyla’s voice zig-zags assuredly above mischievous harmonic twists and sharp, understated grooves as she spins oblique stories of heartbreak and hope in New York City. WHILE COMPLETING HIS FORMAL TRAINING IN CLASSICAL COMPOSITION AND CELLO AT THE CLEVELAND INSTITUTE OF MUSIC AND THE FLORIDA STATE UNIVERSITY, GLENN TOOK UP DANCING THE LINDY HOP AS A HOBBY. THROUGH THE LINDY HIS LOVE OF EARLY JAZZ GREW, BUT HE LAMENTED THAT THERE WERE SO FEW MUSICAL GROUPS THAT SPECIALIZED AUTHENTIC PERFORMANCE OF HIS FAVORITE KIND OF MUSIC.
