Q: What do you wear?

We like to dress to impress! Generally we are in a suit and tie, but we can definitely make sure we fit in to the design and style of the event. From black-tie to beach-chic, we make sure to coordinate with you about this (and every) detail for the party.

Q: Do you take music requests?

Yes! First and foremost, our set-list for the night is completely customized from the newlywed's preferences. We will have extensive discussions about the music choices for the night and we provide a music app where you will be able to hand select the songs you want (and don't) want to hear. From this, we will be able to incorporate any on-the-fly requests from guests.

Q: Do you provide music for wedding ceremonies or cocktail receptions?

Definitely! We can definitely provide additional music and sound equipment for ceremonies and cocktail hours. For the ceremony, we will also be able to provide a microphone for the wedding officiant and anyone else who might be speaking during the ceremony. Music will be playing while guests are arriving to the ceremony starting 30 minutes before it starts.

Q: Are you fully insured?

Yes we are fully insured and can provide a liability certificate for any venue.

Q: How early do you come to set up?

We are generally there at least 2-3 hours before any guests arrive. This allows us to be completely set-up in each area we will be playing music (ceremony space, cocktails, dinner/dance room), sound check all of our equipment, get changed, and be ready to rock!

Q: Do you provide other services, such as lighting or photo booths?

We do! We have lots of lighting and photobooth options. We also have a wide range of live musicians for the ceremony and cocktail hour and even some that can play along WITH the DJ during the dinner/dance reception.

Formed by DJ Matty Stuart in 2005, MD Music and Entertainment is a boutique DJ company with a focus on wedding entertainment. We spend a LOT of time getting to know our clients to ensure that each music set is as personalized as possible. We never want to play the same set over and over. We LOVE music and we got into this business to play amazing music for amazing people. We also believe that Love is Love and have proudly DJed many weddings and events for the LGBTQIA community for over 15 years.

This day is about you, and the music should be a reflection of your tastes, and not the DJ. No cheesy, overplayed songs (unless YOU requested it. Sorry Aunt Kathy....). DJs who don’t scream on the mic. We don’t look like we just rolled out of bed. It’s a special day, we dress to impress! Customized music sets that are curated through extensive collaboration between the DJ and client. Full time veteran DJs who know how to mix in and out of songs with amazing skill. Awesome guys who you’ll love working with!

We couldn’t have asked for a better wedding entertainment experience than the one Matty provided. From the moment we first connected with him, we loved his upbeat energy, positivity, and professionalism, making him an easy choice among other vendors. He filled our wedding with fun, excitement, and unforgettable moments. MDMusic was a one-stop shop for all our entertainment needs: providing musicians and microphones for our ceremony and cocktail hour, while also bringing in uplights and DJ lights that set the perfect mood for our reception. Matty’s DJ skills were on point! He expertly handled our vision for the music, ensuring every moment was perfectly timed. He even went so far as to create a custom song mashup for a bride/MOB dance! What really stood out was how Matty went above and beyond to make sure all of our guests in our multicultural wedding were included and entertained. He particularly helped our Muslim guests, who were initially hesitant to dance. We came to him with a big ask, and he more than delivered. From an air hockey table that brought joy to the younger guests, to a dance floor saxophonist and electric violinist that absolutely wowed everyone—MDMusic had something entertaining for everyone. Thanks to their efforts, even those who were initially unsure about dancing felt welcomed and joined in. Matty gave us a true gift, creating memories that will last a lifetime! (P.S. the blurry pics are evidence of a GOOD time on the dance floor!)

Incredible top notch experience working with Matty. He was extremely professional, easy to work with, and most of all we really valued his expertise regarding what songs to play and even reception logistics. He had the party bumping all night and made it such a special wedding for us. He is also an incredibly nice, calm individual who brought great vibes when we interacted with him throughout what was a stressful day. We cannot recommend him enough.

DJ Matty was absolutely amazing! Working with DJ Matty was so seamless. He was super responsive throughout the whole wedding planning process and did everything in his power to make sure we had a perfect night. Everyone we spoke to couldn't stop talking about how great the playlist was and how much fun they had on the dance floor! Every time they thought about leaving the dance floor, Matty would put on another hit and they couldn’t resist dancing more. My husband and I didn’t leave the dancefloor the whole night! We're so grateful to DJ Matty for bringing our vision to life and couldn’t recommend him more as a wedding DJ!

From our first meeting I know Matty would be the perfect fit. He is super kind and incredibly professional. He led us through the wedding process with ease and smiles. He listened to our requests and added his own magic which I knew he would do. The dance floor was packed!! Matty was perfect in his execution- never stealing the spotlight from the bride and groom and he didn’t sing and shout over the music which we appreciated! (That has a time and place but not for this wedding). He pulled together instrumentals for the ceremony and managed the artists and added musicians at the reception and it really brought out the celebratory vibe of the night. We were all smiles and many and he was too! Amazing job! Hire him asap or you will miss out:)
