The NSCDA/PA owns its Headquarters House located at 1630 Latimer Street in Philadelphia. Built by and for the Dames under the leadership of Mrs. James Starr, Jr., the house has served as the Dames home since its completion in 1923. The building was designed by the Philadelphia Architectural firm Ritter and Shay. Marion Coffin, one of the first female landscape architects, was instrumental in desgining the garden which is a four seasons delight to all who use the house. Headquarters is the setting for Philadelphia Stated Meetings, the meetings of the Board of Managers and its Committees, and for the Society's Annual meeting. The archives of the Society, including lineage papers of our members, both living and deceased, are housed here as well. At the heart of the thriving early industrial community known as Rittenhouse Town, the first paper mill in America was built. William partnered with Philadelphia’s first printer, purchased a 20-acre plot of land along Paper Mill Run (a tributary of the Wissahickon Creek) and, with the help of his son Nicholas, built the first paper mill in British North America that otherwise could only be delivered from England. For the next 40 years, the Rittenhouse family were the only papermakers in America.

Arch Street Meeting House is a historic wedding venue located in Old City Philadelphia. The land on which Arch Street Meeting House stands was officially deeded to the Quakers in 1701 and used as a burial ground until 1872. The building was constructed in stages from 1803-1811 when need arose of a larger Meeting House in Philadelphia. The site is still an active place of worship in addition to being used as an educational museum space, and was designated a National Historic Landmark in 2011. It is frequently rented for conferences, weddings, dinners, and graduations. The building sits on just shy of 2 acres, and our grounds include both grassy & brick spaces and lots of mature trees. The entire site exudes an overall historic charm.

The German Society of Pennsylvania is a historic, three-story brick building with a classic Colonial touch, and is an elegant setting for a Philadelphia wedding. The property offers several venues for every stage of your celebration. The Joseph Horner Memorial Library offers a unique space, with two stories and galleried bookcases. The antique furniture and wood paneling will evoke Belle’s library. The Auditorium, with its distinctly Colonial architecture, is an elegant ceremony venue, but is also perfect for a reception, with plenty of space for dining and dancing. For your cocktail hour, celebrate with your guests in the Ratskeller, a cozy dining room with a tavern atmosphere, or on the spacious and shady Leidy Terrace.

With a capacity of 250, a beautifully restored stage for your band or DJ, and an expansive hardwood dance floor, our historic Ballroom is the perfect setting for your glamorous wedding reception. Make your grand entrance through white French doors and into a magnificent open space enhanced by gorgeous floor to ceiling windows with a view of our Great Lawn, striking white columns perfect for uplighting, and towering arched ceilings. The Ballroom at The Philadelphia Cricket Club is unlike any other venue in Philadelphia and the ideal backdrop for the best night – and best party – of your life.

Morris Arboretum gives you private access to 92 breathtaking acres situated in the historic Chestnut Hill section of Philadelphia. You have a choice of seven charming ceremony sites, a delightful open-air cocktail hour, and tented dinner + dancing under the glow of café string lights in the tent. Our picturesque gardens are exclusively yours when for the festivities from 6 to 11pm with a max capacity of 175 (some restrictions apply at the max guest count). You have 3 hours with a golf cart + driver to escort you throughout the lush grounds for wedding photographs. Morris Arboretum offers 6 caterers for you to choose from (this is contracted separately, not included in our rental fee).
