The NSCDA/PA owns its Headquarters House located at 1630 Latimer Street in Philadelphia. Built by and for the Dames under the leadership of Mrs. James Starr, Jr., the house has served as the Dames home since its completion in 1923. The building was designed by the Philadelphia Architectural firm Ritter and Shay. Marion Coffin, one of the first female landscape architects, was instrumental in desgining the garden which is a four seasons delight to all who use the house. Headquarters is the setting for Philadelphia Stated Meetings, the meetings of the Board of Managers and its Committees, and for the Society's Annual meeting. His career was launched with the creation of Lynnewood Hall in Elkins Park, the Georgian Revival palace commissioned by streetcar tycoon Peter A. B. Widener in 1897. A native Philadelphian, Trumbauer is also associated with grandiose buildings in New York and Newport, the main library at Harvard University and much of the campus of Duke University. Today, Trumbauer is hailed as one of America's premier architects. In 1906, he embarked on Trumbauer Hall, a formal Colonial Revival building of brick, concrete, limestone and marble construction. What began as one of the most prestigious private city clubs in North America is now also Center City’s best address for high-end entertaining. Arch Street Meeting House is a historic wedding venue located in Old City Philadelphia. The land on which Arch Street Meeting House stands was officially deeded to the Quakers in 1701 and used as a burial ground until 1872. The building was constructed in stages from 1803-1811 when need arose of a larger Meeting House in Philadelphia. The site is still an active place of worship in addition to being used as an educational museum space, and was designated a National Historic Landmark in 2011. At the heart of the thriving early industrial community known as Rittenhouse Town, the first paper mill in America was built. It all began when, in 1687, papermaker William Rittenhouse followed other Quaker and Mennonite families emigrating to the newly formed neighborhood of Germantown (founded in 1683). William partnered with Philadelphia’s first printer, purchased a 20-acre plot of land along Paper Mill Run (a tributary of the Wissahickon Creek) and, with the help of his son Nicholas, built the first paper mill in British North America that otherwise could only be delivered from England. For the next 40 years, the Rittenhouse family were the only papermakers in America.

There are 3 components to the rental of Appleford: you have the use of the inside of the estate, use of the tented terrace, and access to the gardens. Greenbank is a beautiful setting for your DIY event, with historic charm and a natural outdoor setting by the Red Clay Creek. You’ll want to plan hours before and after your event for setup/decorating and cleanup. You can choose to rent in smaller blocks of time using our Standard Package or take advantage of our Wedding Package: it provides access to the site across two days to allow for stress-free setup, deliveries, rehearsals, photographs, and event preparations, plus cleaning services and other special accommodations.

The Anthony Wayne House, also known as Waynesborough, is maintained by The Philadelphia Society for the Preservation of Landmarks, a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation of unique historic sites and the creation of related educational and cultural programming. When you rent the Anthony Wayne House for your special event, a portion of proceeds goes towards maintaining the historic house and its collections, preserving the building and its surrounding properties for the education and enjoyment of the public.
