We had our wedding ceremony and reception at Nantahala Weddings and were so happy we chose them as our venue. Jody and Jess, the venue owners, provided excellent communication throughout the planning process - they responded quickly to all of our questions and requests for information. The mountain backdrop could not have been more perfect for our wedding vision. The outdoor ceremony space was intimate yet spacious, with beautiful landscaping and mountain views that made for incredible photos. For the value, we felt Nantahala Weddings was very reasonably priced compared to other venues we toured, we got the full weekend with no set end time! We highly recommend them for any couple looking for a stunning mountain venue with responsive, friendly owners.

When my husband and I started looking for our wedding venue, we had pretty high expectations. We are full-time wedding photographers and most of the venues we have been to are pretty cookie cutter and not at all what we wanted for our own wedding. You’ve got your barns, ballrooms, and industrial chic venues and then you’ve got something completely different like New Holland. New Holland has character, charm, and a one-off nature that was exactly what we were looking for. We knew that when we decided to have our wedding after being married already for ten years, it had to be at New Holland. Sophie and Reagan made the experience booking and hosting our wedding effortless. Our entire wedding celebration was unconventional, and because of that, it required a whole lot of coordination with activities and food for our guests that typical weddings don’t necessitate. Sophie and Reagan handled everything the day of the wedding perfectly. It was like one big choreographed dance. I know that without them, our wedding would have been a huge, disorganized embarrassment, and we are so grateful they helped make our day run smoothly so that we could enjoy it. If you’re the kind of bride who is looking for something bespoke and can’t find it at any of the venues you’ve visited so far, I know you’ll find it at New Holland.

Our wedding at The Carmichael House, May 4, 2024, was absolutely beautiful. The owner/coordinator Paige was incredible!! Her hospitality made me and my wedding party feel so welcome, she was so accommodating while also allowing us all the space and time we needed to enjoy ourselves. There was also a space for my husband and his friends to enjoy themselves as well and he said they truly enjoyed themselves. While searching for a venue, what set Paige apart from other venues I visited was that she was so personable, and I didn't feel like I was just another business transaction. We talked back and forth for a year during the planning process, and she always responded in a timely manner, especially the last few weeks of planning, I was bothering her late into the night, but she was responding immediately. She kept the wedding on track and on time. I would highly recommend The Carmichael House as a top-notch wedding venue if you're in the market for a wedding venue you definitely won't be disappointed.

I would recommend Wheeler House time and time again to brides-to-be! Their team is warm, knowledgeable, and took the time to respond thoroughly to my (many) emails :). The venue itself is gorgeous. We used the barn for our ceremony and reception to escape the summer heat, and it was both beautiful and comfortable for our guests! The morning of our wedding came with a huge thunderstorm, but by early afternoon, the staff had cleaned up the yard of all the twigs, leaves, and branches that had been blown around, and it was like nothing had ever happened! We were able to take photos as normal, free of flooding and debris! Kelle was our day-of coordinator, and she was WONDERFUL! She is kind and calm, yet efficient, and her expertise helped me to be at ease on our wedding day. Getting ready inside the house was also a pleasure! There was more than enough space for myself and my 4 bridesmaids to get ready in the same room together. Despite it being an older home and getting married in the summer, it was very comfortable! Overall, The Wheeler House helped me to have my dream wedding day, and I could not recommend them more!

I can't say enough how beautiful this venue is. Lela's Place is a spacious, the landscaping is fabulous and always evolving, and the venue host, Lela, is a DELIGHT to work with. She is so sweet and thoughtful. We booked our wedding of about 85 people more than a year in advanced and she communicated regularly to ensure we got exactly what wanted on the day of. We also chose Lela to be our day of coordinator and she did a fabulous job, and that was one of the best decisions we made during the wedding planning process. She coordinated with the vendors, set up the tables, and ensured the day went smoothly. We did not have to worry about a thing on the day of the wedding and no issues arose. All my guests told me how sweet and helpful Lela was and how beautiful her venue was. Definitely check her out, she's wonderful!

My husband and I got married at White Laurel Estate on May 13, 2023! WLE truly made our wedding dreams come true. This was the first place we toured when starting our search and immediately after visiting, we knew it was the one. Jay Rogers was so welcoming and accommodating throughout the entire wedding planning process. There are not many venue owners that are as helpful and willing to answer questions in such a timely response in the way that Jay did. The grounds are stunning and make for the most beautiful photos - with the rolling hills, black & white accents, and both indoor/outdoor options. We rented both of the cottages for the night of the wedding and are so glad that we did - they were beautifully decorated and spacious to accommodate our wedding party following the wedding. Jay, his wife, son, and daughter-in-law were there to set up, ensure we had everything the way that we wanted it, and to shuttle us around on the golf cart for our photos in the fields during cocktail hour and we truly appreciated that! We are so sad it is over but would not change a single thing, thanks to White Laurel Estate. I highly recommend this venue to any and every couple on their search for THE one!

The staff was super helpful in preparing for our day and offered a ton of decor for us to use. I’m very happy we chose Gardens in the Gorge!

A beautiful garden, rocking chairs, and porch swings on the generous wrap-around veranda add to your journey back in time.

Where do I start ? First this review is long overdue! I couldn’t give a more glowing review for the Veranda’s staff and Lori Burnett, the coordinator/planner for our wedding. To say Lori is an excellent wedding coordinator/planner is really doing her an injustice. Lori was on point with every single aspect of our wedding. We were coming from out of state , which makes planning a wedding difficult to say the least. We had a few issues with our original caterer and had to switch it up virtually last minute and Lori was with us the entire time ensuring us everything would be perfect. She worked closely with all of our vendors to ensure the day was seamless! She had endless ideas that gave us the ability to have the look and feel that we were looking for on our special day. We went in hoping for the best but knowing , it’s virtually impossible to have everything go perfect on your wedding day. Thanks to Lori, the incredible staff and the vendors our day was absolutely perfect. Lori asked for a sort of report card of our day wondering what they could have done different or better and so on. Even this far out from that day I can not think of a single thing. Everything from our breakfast, made by the wonderful Ms Lavern to the last dance of the night ,was exactly how we wanted it down to the smallest details ! Lori really busted her butt the whole weekend and I’m sure in the weeks and days leading up to the wedding. The Veranda was decorated beautifully, Lori was in super early getting everything ready the day of, coordinating the staff and vendors like an elite maestro preforming a flawless rendition of Mozart! The owners, Margaret and Chris, have a beautiful story and unique professional background. Margaret has thought of absolutely everything to deliver a magical experience. There is so much charm on every foot of the property- if you're looking for a destination wedding that allows you to stay ON SITE, this is IT! Each place to stay (The Wren, The Kingfisher, The Peregrine) have the most thoughtful touches & elevated views. The design of each space is detailed, classy, & has tons of personality. Margaret allows her guests to "personalize" their wedding experience so that each wedding or event planned is truly one of a kind. The space itself is beautiful and so so unique, I can say I have never been to a wedding venue that comes close. We also loved of course that the space was a family owned business and that it was so close to downtown Chattanooga

We are SO lucky we found this venue for our wedding! It's been a long time planning - but Alexis was super communicative and responsive for every question in our 20 months of planning. She made all the decisions a breeze and was so detail oriented during our walk through to ensure our vision was received. Our guests were amazed by the venue's beauty and all night we received compliments and "HOW did you find this place?! it's BREATHTAKING"! We just responded with "we know ;)" I will also have to say - having the getting ready suites on site made the whole day even that much more of a breeze. We provided our own food & drink but the Bride's Suite Bathtub is something out of a luxury castle's home. AMAZING photo opportunities! The Groom's suite with pool table, TV, video games & darts was perfect for my partner and his group. Even though there was a wedding there the night before ours - Alexis had everything under control in terms of a rehearsal the morning of our wedding. We all arrived about an hour ahead of official venue access, ran through our rehearsal, and put cars in place to unload when we got to our access time. Her team was top notch - and had all our decor items set up perfectly. I also LOVED that we didn't have to tear down or clean up anything other than what we brought in. I can not put into words how much I recommend this venue for your perfect mountaintop wedding or event. It vastly exceeded our expectations and I hope they keep expanding their venture here in Whittier, NC!!

I adore Hawkesdene! As a local wedding photographer, I have the honor of visiting Hawkesdene multiple times each year. Every time I go, I am blown away by the service and kindness of the staff. They think of everything, and are willing to help at any second! Truly, they are gems! Beyond that, the place is stunning!! The grounds are beautifully manicured with trees, shrubs, flowers, and more. It's extremely picturesque both around the main house area as well as at the top of the mountain. I could honestly photograph a single couple at Hawkesdene for 3 days and still not visit all of the spots I would like to capture photographs! The cabins and rooms are lovely and have everything one would need. They are also beautiful inside and make for a perfect getting ready areas. Plus, I LOVE how all of the cabins are a very short walk from the center of it all- the wedding ceremony sites and reception area! The food, oh the food. It is downright amazing! Our outdoor terrace can give you the perfect setting for a winter, spring, summer, or fall wedding. This space truly allows us to serve as an outdoor wedding venue in which you can hold your reception, seating, and bar both inside and outside.

I can't say enough good things about the Carlyle House! It was perfect for our 150-person May wedding. They were, without a doubt, my favorite vendor to work with. The year leading up to the wedding, Gerise answered every single email and question I had promptly. You'll find during the wedding planning process that that kind of prompt communication is incredibly rare. They're incredibly experienced, so if you have any sort of off-the-wall idea, they've done a wedding like that before and can send you a layout and ideas around that. Weddings are expensive, and while we still spent more than we hoped originally, it's so great they don't try to price gouge you every step of the way like some places. Day of, we were treated very luxuriously, there were plates made up for the groom and I from the buffet line and cocktail hour by their staff, and our families felt well taken care of as well. We were able to be pretty minimal on the decor, too, as the venue is so beautiful, and there are beautiful photo opportunities everywhere. A lot of chairs, tables, and linens are included which will also save you money. The weather was touch and go day of our wedding, and apparently they kept moving the ceremony back and forth outdoors to indoors back to outdoors unbeknownst to me as the rain kept stopping and starting, which was incredibly nice of them, and we were ultimately able to get married outdoors! The paved terrace is wonderful for outdoor ceremonies since it dries quickly. They also allowed us to come a little early for photos without charge, because the rain was going to ruin our plans for photos at the park. We LOVED the fried chicken, and the shrimp and grits martini station in particular, and the charcuterie and hummus spreads were gorgeous during cocktail hour. Our bartenders followed our instructions perfectly for our signature cocktails and garnished them beautifully. If your friends are degenerates like mine, be sure to ask the bartenders not to allow shots--unlike a lot of other event venues, they'll allow it and it probably put a few of our guests over the edge by the end of the night! The stories were hilarious though so many thanks to the Carlyle House for helping us throw the beautiful ceremony and the raging reception I dreamed of!
