Conveniently reached by guests from all parts of North Georgia and the suburbs of Atlanta, The Wheeler House encompasses true southern charm with its meaningfully preserved, yet restored grounds and house. Built in 1906 by John. F. Wheeler, owner of the Wheeler Lumber Yard on Main Street in Ball Ground, the house was constructed with Heart Pine tongue and grove floors, walls, ceilings, and wrap-around porches. The Wheeler House is a historic gem that has been given new life by serving as a wedding venue and special event site.

    The Wheeler House and their recommended vendors were absolutely incredible for our wedding. We were drawn in by how beautiful the venue was and decided to move forward after having an informative tour and reviewing reasonable pricing. We were not looking forward to how stressful wedding planning can be, so we loved how inclusive The Wheeler House was and how easy they made the process. The package we purchased included the venue, catering (up to 125 people), DJ, cake, bartender, coordinator, tables & chairs, and more. They also had quarterly events to try various catering options and meet vendors, which was super helpful as we were making decisions. We were overjoyed to have Laiken as our coordinator, and we cannot express enough how wonderful she was - she truly made our planning and wedding day go smoothly! Every person we worked with during the process was easy to communicate with, helpful and kind. The care and attention to detail the coordinators and other staff members put into making the wedding successful is unmatched. We received endless compliments from our guests about our wedding venue, ceremony and reception - they thought it was beautiful and are still talking about how delicious the food was (we may need to beg for the macaroni and cheese recipe). One thing that made The Wheeler House extra special to us was that we felt like we could be absolutely authentic - they provided such a genuine and loving environment for us to get married, and that really made the experience top-notch. We highly recommend The Wheeler House!

    The Wheeler House made our wedding an absolute dream come true! From the moment we connected with Ashley, we knew we were in great hands. Planning a destination wedding from out of state, on top of being in an active-duty military relationship, can be overwhelming, but Ashley’s professionalism, warmth, and attention to detail made the entire process seamless. She took the time to walk us through the contract, patiently answering all of our questions and ensuring we fully understood every aspect of the planning process. She even was able to add a call-to-action clause in case my Husband was deployed. Her responsiveness and dedication gave us so much peace of mind. The all-inclusive package was a lifesaver! It was incredibly efficient, allowing us to focus on enjoying the experience rather than stressing over the details. Every vendor included was top-notch, and the coordination was flawless. On our wedding day, the staff went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect—not just for us but for our guests, many of whom had traveled long distances to celebrate with us. The Wheeler House itself is breathtaking, offering the perfect mix of Southern charm and elegance. Every detail was beautifully executed, and our day was more magical than we ever imagined. We cannot recommend The Wheeler House enough—if you’re considering it for your wedding, don’t hesitate!

    The Wheeler House was a beautiful venue, but the coordination and management of our wedding day was a complete disaster. Leading up to the wedding, the staff seemed detail-oriented, sweet, and helpful, but on the day of, they were completely spaced out, had no delegating skills, and caused a lot of unnecessary stress for me as the bride. Their poor time management skills meant we had to rush through important events like our first dance and speeches, and they even messed up our food by adding bacon to the green beans, despite us being Jewish and not ordering that. Overall, while the venue itself was absolutely stunning, the lack of organization and compassion from the staff made the experience not worth the high price tag we paid. I would not recommend this venue to other couples.

Given the inclement weather, we recognize that the decision to rehearse the day before or on the day of the event consumed valuable time that impacted your preparation schedule. Our team made every effort to ensure that your wedding day remained on track. We diligently developed a detailed timeline with you that was shared with all internal and external vendors; however, we understand that unforeseen circumstances can arise on the day of the event. Despite the delays related to dressing and photography, which coincided with the scheduled start of the ceremony, our staff worked diligently to facilitate smooth transitions. We allocated additional time during the reception to allow you and your guests to enjoy dancing and mingling as compensation for the lost time caused by the delay in first-look/getting ready photos. This extension required our team, the DJ, and the off-duty officer to remain onsite beyond their scheduled hours, which we happily comped the additional fees for. We also apologize for any dissatisfaction regarding your catering selections. We conduct multiple tastings annually for our couples, and I can assure you that the southern-style green beans recipe has remained unchanged, which includes pork. Our team proactively verified your menu selections with our catering management to ensure accuracy during the dinner service and arranged for the DJ to make an announcement to all guests at the request of the groom. Again, we apologize for any confusion regarding the catering selected. We always strive to surpass the expectations of our couples and regret to hear that you did not feel this way.
