How many guests can the venue accommodate inside?

Depending on the chosen setup, we can accommodate up to 200 guests comfortably.

Question 2

How many staff members are included with the reservation of the venue, and what do they do?

Accepted Answer

We provide a venue coordinator and 2 staff members to uphold the venue responsibilities for venue related setup and breakdown for up to 50 guests. If you have more than 50 guests, or if your catering/service plans require additional staffing, be prepared for a $200 fee for each additional staff member. When our inclusive packages are arranged, we provide all necessary kitchen and floor staffing.

Describe your parking and restrooms:

Our parking area is conveniently located in front of the reception hall and is within easy walking distance of the venue and all wedding sites. Inside the facility, we have a total of 7 private stalls and 8 vanities. One restroom is wheelchair friendly and has a baby changing station.

Question 4

How long can my wedding and reception last?

Within the 12-hour reservation, we offer a 5-hour event time frame, with 4 hours of alcohol service allotted within that time.

How does planning/communication work?

After the contract is in place, we will send out a design questionnaire where you can provide us with your requests for setup. Beyond this, you are welcome to schedule two 30-minute phone/virtual consultations plus one planning visit to finalize your setup at least 1 month before your big day! When possible, planning appointments are best scheduled on available Tuesdays-Thursdays in January, February, March and July to guarantee our undivided attention.

Where do we get ready?

Most couples choose to do hair and makeup at the Millhouse Lodge and reserve the bridal suite as a clean and peaceful environment for the bride to get dressed. When the girls leave the Millhouse Lodge (about 3 hours before the wedding) and head to the venue is when the guys usually return to the Millhouse Lodge to get dressed. This way, they can both get dressed on-site, but avoid seeing each other.

Can the clients provide their own alcohol?

Yes! We actually require that you bring in your own alcohol. We will organize, chill, and can provide the setup items needed upon request. *Keep in mind that when liquor is served, shots are not allowed. Shuttle services must be provided to ensure the safety of your guests.

Do you have liability Insurance?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We do, also, require that you obtain a $1M event insurance policy for your wedding. Certain activities at the venue do require a particular insurance policy.

Is the client required to get any permits?

Accepted Answer

A Limited Special Occasions Permit is needed if fortified wine and/or spirituous liquors are brought onto the premises.

Do you require clients to use a specific list of vendors?

Accepted Answer

Our clients are allowed to bring in professional and insured vendors of their choosing. However, we do recommend that our clients review our list of preferred vendors, who are already familiar with our venue and staff, which helps make the day run smoothly. If you choose to bring in an outside vendor, no problem! Just be prepared for a $100 vendor fee for each non-preferred vendor used

Is a Wedding Coordinator Required?

Yes! A professional day of coordinator will need to serve as a point of contact for rehearsal and the day of the wedding to help ensure that the ceremony rehearsal, day-of set up and execution of all services go off without a hitch. Be sure to ask about our in-house coordination services!

Are Pets Allowed?

Yes! We love when fur babies belonging to the couple are a part of the ceremony and photography! We simply request that animals are leashed, looked after at all times, and are cleaned up after. However, only service animals are able to be inside the venue for the reception.

Question 13

Do you host more than one wedding per day?

Accepted Answer

We only host one event per day, ensuring that you have privacy and our utmost attention! The only circumstance in which we hold more than one wedding at a time is when we hold elopements, which are scheduled around the arrival/departure of other existing elopements.

Question 14

How much is the downpayment to reserve my date?

Accepted Answer

A $1,000 nonrefundable downpayment is required to reserve your date and will hold your date for 1 month to allow time to gather the information needed to start your contract. Once a contract is in place, the remaining balance is broken into a customized payment plan.

Question 15

When does the final guest count and plans need to be provided?

Accepted Answer

Although we love to receive projected numbers and updates along the way, the final plans for setup need to be provided 1 month before your reservation, and your final guest count is required at least 10 days before your reservation begins. Once the final guest count is provided, we will send over any updated invoices. Be sure to include your reception vendors in the count- they will need to eat, too!

Do you offer military discounts?

We are happy to provide the use of any indoor table centerpieces at no cost for active duty and retired veterans. Just bring the necessary candles or batteries.
