About this venue

The Mayes Event Center at Deerwoode Reserve will be open Spring 2024. It is currently being renovated and will have a climate-controlled banquet hall, catering kitchen, bridal suite, restrooms, and a covered open-air pavilion. Deerwoode Reserve is 175 acre nature preserve with cabin accommodations and on-site amenities. Explore the Bamboo Forest, walk over 5 miles of trails, kayak or canoe around the lake, and there's plenty of fishing options, or just relax on a hammock. The Coyote Lodge is a 4,000 cabin with a huge great room with soaring 2 story stone wood-burning fireplace. This space is great for a small ceremony up to 40 guests. The Coyote Lodge has 4 master suites with private bathrooms, and can sleep up to 18 people. Cabin accommodations include 11 cabins, ranging from studio units to 1, 2, 3, and 4 bedroom cabins. They can added to venue rental. Partial and whole property rentals are available. Perfect for those planning a destination wedding.

The Coyote Lodge

Historic property with serene views & rustic charm in the mountains of North Carolina.

The Coyote Lodge features a massive great room with huge stone fireplace. Perfect for rustic and casual events with less than 75 guests. The two-story balcony inside offers additional seating or standing space and it's open to below. Two bedrooms off the main room downstairs and two bedrooms upstairs, provides sleeping for up to 18 people. Large front porch with swings and rocking chairs with long-range views. Private fire pit and outdoor picnic area.

The Mayes Event Center

The most memorable mountain destination wedding venue in North Carolina.

The venue features a 4,000 sf banquet hall (climate-controlled), bridal suite, catering kitchen, restrooms, and a 2,000 sf open-air covered pavilion. The indoor space has 4 large glass garage doors that can be opened for additional outdoor space. It also has a removable stage and can be arranged for a band or DJ and dancing. There's plenty of parking close to venue.
