When I'm not shooting weddings, I’m a total beach bum. This might sound like an oxymoron coming from a native Montrealer, but I adore the ocean (and very much dislike winter). I swim and surf whenever possible, and I get out to the Rockaways as often as I can. I do a ton of beach photography, including a series about couples at the beach, and I’ve been published a few times, including here and here. I found my passion for art while growing up surrounded by horses in a small town in Brazil. The shapes, textures, and colors of the horses always have been inspiring to me. I’ve always wanted to recreate them, but was never really able to. Honestly, my painting/drawing skills were and still are terrible, and that’s when photography came up in my life. I would create imaginary cameras out of my toys and would ‘photograph’ the horses and my neighbors. Photographing people became my passion and then evolved into my work in editorial and wedding photography.

I know it is the most incredible experience having everyone you love together in one place to celebrate you. Aside from the births of my babies, my wedding was the best day ever. But being a mom has made me appreciate photography the most — I know how fleeting time is and how important it is to have printed memories of those you love dearly. Here's my photography short story: 2017, after 13 years of teaching, I said goodbye to the classroom and pursued Olympic weightlifting photography- my company was Everyday Lifters. Shortly after, I launched my wedding business. The Long Version: Weightlifting has taken me to places like Turkmenistan, Germany, & across the country! The weightlifters started getting married, and along the way, I received training to advocate for diverse bodies as a photographer. During this time of transition, I started taking documenting courses through the International Center of Photography and work on documenting local stories.
