Illusions Weddings is a photography team. Michelle graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelors Of Fine Art In Photography in 1999. While living in CA she worked for a Hollywood Photo studio for 4 yrs. Upon moving to Colorado she worked at a wedding and portrait studio. Angela is a self taught photographer. In her youth she dabbled in modeling. This taught her posing, angles and finding the light. She is a classically trained visual artist in many mediums. Through that she learned to understand human form. 15 years ago she opened a face and body painting business and added photography shortly after.

“We booked a tour with Cold Saturday Farm on a whim, but holy cow am I glad that we did! We met with Brittany on a pretty dreary day in the winter, and even then I could see the beauty in the venue. It truly is a blank canvas that you can really make your own. Plus, the venue checked all the boxes that were super important to us: onsite getting ready spaces for both us, free onsite parking, guest tables and chairs included, and access to the venue all day. For the price, it was a great value. Brittany did end up leaving Cold Saturday, and we do wish that had been proactively communicated to us, but her replacement, Meredith, was fantastic, especially because she started the week before our wedding (I'm pretty sure we were her first wedding at the venue). But she was incredibly helpful and friendly--we actually had guests come up to us and tell us how awesome she was! The only other thing I wish we had known ahead of time was that the getting ready room the guys used didn't have any furniture. It was still being worked on during our tours, so we didn't actually see the room until the day of. So the room may have furniture at some point. Overall, we loved Cold Saturday Farm. It is truly a hidden gem (none of our vendors have ever worked there before but all of them said they loved it), so I really love that it was a pretty unique and beautiful place to have our wedding.”

“Margo did makeup for my bridesmaids, my mother/mother-in-law, and hairmakeup for myself. I couldn’t have been happier with the results and be grateful to Margo and her team, especially since she had to work in a small space packed with very energetic and boisterous gals. She respectfully listens to all of our requests, and moved throughout the getting-ready timeline with a calm, collected, and stress-free aura. She was also able to squeeze in another bridesmaid who was amazed by Margos makeup talent. After we parted ways with Margo and headed to the venue, i became incredibly carsick. The following 3 hours, I spent it face down on the grass or lying on the bathroom floor. When it was go time, we were all dumbfounded that i did not require any retouching- hair and makeup stayed exactly the same to when Margo worked her magic on me. The hair stayed in place all night (i did lay on the ground every hour or so in between the reception lol) and so did my face (even after all the happy tears) I am so grateful and appreciative of Margo and her talent!!! I want to emphasize that these pictures are without any retouching, and AFTER IVE BEEN ROLLING AROUND ON THE GROUND.”

“Makeup lasted all night. Looked amazing. I could say so much about her. She was sweet, professional, she did a range of looks on my girls. She did all 6 of us in a couple hours. If you abide by the time slots she needs it will be easy for everyone. All my girls loved her as a person as well. Some of them slept with their makeup on and woke up with lipstick still in tact, lashes still on. She is on time. For my woman of color, she can match your skin tone exactly. My girls were mostly white but my MOH is Hispanic, and another is a very dark in complexion and both blended seamlessly. My makeup remained perfect, normally my eyes get annoyed with mascara and lashes but they didn't when she did it. I would also be friends with her IRL. THAT is how amazing she is.”

“I cannot sing Emma’s praises enough!!! We hired Emma as a month-of coordinator and are fully convinced she is the sole reason our wedding went off without a hitch! We had over 200 people and our ceremony was at a different location from our reception—no small undertaking—and from the moment we started working together, we knew our wedding was in good hands. Emma is extremely organized and has the perfect demeanor for this type of work. When I was actively pulling my hair out with stress (and a venue that was less than forthcoming about a conflict with our event space), Emma stepped up and made sure everything went smoothly, all while remaining calm, cool and collected. Emma was SO easy to work with and is a pleasure to be around. She also has a great inventory of items to bolster your décor—we ended up renting a card box and table numbers from her that she printed and designed with our names on it! She helped us hone our vision and refine our timeline, all while making sure everything was finalized to our liking! “I am writing this review wayyyy too late (a little over 2 years after my wedding) and it has been eating me away inside because I need to give Mason(aka Anchor Pictures) all the praise they deserve. As a wedding planner myself, I had worked with Mason and Savannah previously and found them to be so sweet and easy to work with as well as extremely professional. I knew that when I got married they would be at the top of my list for videography and I was so glad they were available! My husband still talks about how absolutely sweet and helpful Mason was on the day of our wedding, assisting him in getting his bow tie on when no one else knew how. He worked perfectly with our photographer team and even when we ran slightly behind schedule due to hair and makeup, he was on it with getting all the shots needed quickly so we could get back on track. The videos themselves I could watch on repeat constantly, every day, for the rest of my life. I still cry watching the full video and cannot stop smiling when I watch the teaser and full 8 minute cut. The drone shots, the details, all cut together seamlessly with our music and clips of the ceremony and speeches. Mason’s work is beautiful, the camerawork and shots are breathtaking and made my humble backyard wedding look like a high budget royal wedding video. I love it sooooo much and am forever grateful that we will one day be able to watch this video with our children as well as show other family members who were not able to make it that day. “We couldn't be happier with our wedding at Yorkie Acres, it was everything we had dreamed of for our special day. Here are our top five favorite things about our experience: 1) The owners Jason and Alea were absolutely amazing to work with and it felt more like we were making a new set of friends rather than working with a business. 2) The highland cattle! Not only did they provide a beautiful addition to photos, our guests loved interacting with them. The number of times at the wedding, and since, that attendees have remarked about the cattle are too many to count. 3) The location can't be beat. It is only 20 minutes from the resort area around Deep Creek Lake, 10 minutes from a major highway, and 30 minutes from Morgantown, WV. It's location allowed us to have the intimate experience we sought, while still having easy access to lodging, recreation, and vendors for the wedding. 4) The yurt and tiny container house. They are both perfectly set-up for a couple to have everything they need for a comfortable stay. My husband and I stayed in the yurt on our wedding night and were not disappointed. And a bonus of the tiny container house is it has a composting toilet and sink. This may not seem that exciting, but as a bride in a large wedding gown not having to use the porta potty cannot be over stated. :) 5) The photos. Because of the natural beauty of the area, farm animals, historic barn, and flower gardens every single photo that was taken had an amazing backdrop. From the professional photos to the ones snapped by a cell phone we have yet to find one that isn't perfect. If you are looking for a place to have a rustic farm wedding, don't look any further Yorkie Acres is the venue for you.”

“Bowling Brook Mansion is incredible! This is a truly special venue. We offer our strongest possible recommendation, and our earnest thanks, to Debbie and her staff for making our wedding day more beautiful than we had ever imagined. The venue itself is gorgeous. The mansion is colorful and picturesque; the indoors are classy but not cluttered; the grounds are sprawling and luscious. We held our ceremony in a gorgeous, decorated, wooded grove, and took photos throughout the surrounding farmlands. We were very happy with the amount of space our guests had available to roam and mingle inside and outside the mansion. The ballroom was spacious, and with a cool summer evening, we were able to open an outdoor patio/tent area for guests to socialize. Also, when the evening wound down, we went to the roofdeck with close family and friends for a late afterparty under the stars—a gorgeous night in the countryside! Debbie and her staff are amazing. We can’t say enough about Debbie herself. She treated us like a member of her family, not just another customer. She was also easy to reach and easy to talk to throughout the planning process. She worked to understand our needs and sincerely respected our vision for our wedding, making several accommodations for our plans—such as permitting us to select off-list vendors, working with our family’s arrival time needs, and allowing us to stay in the honeymoon suite before the wedding. On our wedding day, she stayed on top of managing the vendors so that we could focus on enjoying ourselves. We owe a special thanks to Debbie’s staff for helping out in the aftermath of a hurricane. During the week before our wedding, the remnants of a tropical storm swept through Maryland. We were very worried that we would have to commit to an indoor ceremony, but the storm cleared late on Friday night, and Saturday was temperate and picturesque. Debbie and her staff arrived early Saturday morning and worked very hard to get the mansion and the grounds ready. Their hard work made our wedding day everything we wanted it to be.
