Sarah & her Sleeping Bee Designs crew were everything I could have ever asked for. I'm a very DIY person, so I thought "hmm, maybe I don't need a coordinator." Spoiler- yes you do, everyone does, don't do it yourself. I promise it's worth every penny. We first met Sarah at a wedding expo in Downtown Frederick, and immediately loved her personality. We emailed several months later, and were so relieved she was available on our date. The second you book her, she'll give you things to start thinking about. Like, things that never even crossed your mind, but duh! Organized doesn't even begin to explain SBD. Our wedding timeline was planned perfectly, down to the minute. Sarah was on top of rallying the other vendors, and even joined me for a couple calls with them, leading up to the wedding. All our vendors said the similar things- "Wow, she's on top of it." Or "Holy bananas, she's the most organized coordinator I've ever worked with." The day of the wedding, we felt so taken care of. You need a drink? Don't worry- Sarah or Christine already know, and it's probably on the way. We blinked and the decorations were all packed up and in our car. Vendor tips? Handed out. Card box? Very, very secure. Something not matching up with a different vendor contract you signed? Not on SBD's watch. As we were leaving the venue the night of our wedding, Sarah gave us the best piece of advice: "Eat your wedding cake for breakfast, open all your cards in the morning, and just take it all in." We did exactly that, and it's one of my favorite wedding moments. I don't think our wedding would have been half as successful as it was, if we hadn't hired Sleeping Bee Designs. It's been 8 months since we've been married and Sarah is still helping us with things- can you say newspaper feature? Looking back at our whole experience, I'd honestly pay double what we did.

Kay is absolutely incredible. She’s the sweetest person I’ve ever met and you can tell she just love to capture your memories in the most beautiful way she can. She’s not just some photographer telling you to say cheese and move it along, she’s going to be your friend by the end! We still communicate via social media and she’s just so relatable and kind. I can’t stress enough how huge her heart is and you can tell by the work she puts out. My wedding and engagement photos were stunning. We cannot say enough good things about Niko, Mary, Billy and the entire UMPH staff who made our wedding day extraordinary. The level of care and commitment this team took to ensuring our day was special was unparalleled. From the food to the beautiful cocktail space and grand ballroom it was everything we wanted it to be. Not to mention the 105 degree heatwave day in June, they kept our guests cool and calm in the midst of a bitterly hot day. From the minute we booked Niko took care in making sure we understood exactly what we were paying for with no hidden surprises. Mary took care of the bridal party morning off as the ladies were getting ready and Billy ensured the front of the house was smooth sailing during the reception. Many guests commented at how smooth the entire event went and it’s a testament to the great work of Niko and team (along with Sarah from Sleeping Bee who was one of UMPH’s preferred day of coordinators). I would highly recommend UMPH for your Frederick destination wedding.

I booked Margo as my wedding hair stylist and she was amazing!! Her professionalism and bubbly personality made my wedding morning stress-free, and she gave me the hair style of my dreams I first booked a hair trial with Margo about a year ahead of my wedding. From the start, she was communicative, and my trial session was a lot of fun. She answered a ton of my questions about timeline, hair styles, and more. She also sent me extra reference photos when I requested them to prepare for my bridesmaids. Margo is also incredibly fast. We had a 12pm finish time, and I had 5 bridesmaids plus myself that needed their hair done. She arrived at 7:30AM and completed everyone’s hair in a timely manner. My bridesmaids had hair ranging from very naturally curly and thick to extremely straight and hard to hold a curl. Every single one of the girls’ hair held up for the entire day over 12 hours, and everyone was delighted with their chosen styles! My hair was still looking fantastic after a lot of dancing (see the attached photo of me at top golf at the end of the night!) I highly recommend Margo for an entirely stress-free morning getting ready for your wedding, and if you want you and your bridesmaids looking beautiful for the entire day. Her and her team at The Whole Story are amazing!!!

I ordered my bouquets, corsages, and boutonnieres from Brook Hill Flowers, but got 2 DIY boxes of flowers from Wegman's in Frederick. However, my BFFs who helped me organize and decorate my wedding (at my home) were all thumbs the morning of and needed help putting all the vases together. When Jessica came to drop off the bouquets, corsages, and boutonnieres, she asked if there was anything she could help with and my MOH ran over and asked for her help. I was upstairs starting my beautification and when I came down the stairs towards my dad to walk down the aisle, I was blown away seeing how beautiful my home looked! Thank You, Jessica!!

When I was planning my wedding, choosing the makeup artist was one of the things I was most nervous about. On a daily basis the only makeup I wear is a little mascara so I was scared of looking too done up and not myself. My hair stylist suggested to me that I give Sarah a call and I’m so glad he did! When she came to my house for my trial she asked me all about how I wanted to look and feel on my wedding day and I felt totally understood. The first trial I did with another artist was horrible and I left feeling like a contestant on RuPaul so it was so nice to have someone that understood what I wanted and could totally deliver. She was so friendly and had a great calm energy about her that made me feel comfortable. On my wedding day she did my makeup, my mother and my mother in laws, who were both terrified of looking to over the top as well but of course it turned out perfect. Sarah also covered up a small tattoo on my back that I don’t love and didn’t want to be the main focus of the day. All her products must be top notch because nothing ever faded, I never needed to reapply anything, not even after walking two miles in the September sun and dancing all night. I took a picture of myself when I got home that night and I looked exactly the same as I did that morning when Sarah left my house. I couldn’t have been happier with the work she did and am so happy I found her!

We hired Lal Moya to do the florals for our daughter’s wedding. We needed florals for a ceremony, cocktail hour, and full sit-down dinner reception, and we needed it in 4 weeks, AND our daughter was set on a jewel-toned color palette…in spring… Lal Moya came through! The team created gorgeous arrangements that were exactly what the bride wanted. They adjusted the number of arrangements, boutonnièrs, etc as our needs evolved. Their professionalism through the entire process was stellar. The price was quite good. I highly recommend choosing them for your florals. You won’t be disappointed!

Jon was highly recommended by our wedding planner (Lissa Marie Weddings and Events), and we immediately hired him after our initial meeting. It really says something when other vendors only have great things to say! He did such a wonderful job on our wedding day and really kepted everything flowing smoothly with no hiccups. Our ceremony sounds was absolutely perfect and the microphones were sooo easy to use and captured all the sound perfectly. Jon was great at making announcements, (even though it wasn't planned) like when he had to tell people to go to cocktail hour. We also had a photobooth package with him and the attendant did such a great job running the booth. It was definitely the most popular event and our families still raves about the pictures they took! From the moment we met Jon, he was just so easy to talk to and knew exactly what we wanted for the day when we shared our vision. Jon is so professional, supportive, and positive, and I can't imagine having someone else on our special day. He is definitely worth the money and I would hire him again without a doubt for any event!

Recently hosted my May 2022 wedding at The Hummingbird Chateau and it was amazing! The farmhouse is gorgeous with full kitchen, additional sitting rooms, vanities for makeup/hair (an absolute game changer for day of getting ready) and bedrooms. Morning of wedding went seamlessly with all the amenities. The owners are the nicest human beings and really have an amazing eye for detail which can be seen throughout the whole venue. The option for their barnwood reception tables and wood chairs, as well as arbor was so convenient and was one less hassle for wedding planning. Truly an amazing venue and so grateful I could be one of the first brides to enjoy!

Their bar trailer itself was SO beautifully decorated and exactly what we wanted. You will not regret working with them if it was anything like our experience!! If we have another event in the VA area, we would definitely going to call them again.

My team of DJs and I truly appreciate it. A little background on who I am and what sets Frederick DJs apart from the rest. Starting as a DJ as a kid, yes, a kid of only 14! I took a huge interest in the entertainment industry. It started a little before then, but that’s when I got into DJing. I fell in love with playing music for others while working at a roller-skating rink. (Wisconsin Sk8 University) I later moved on from the roller rink where I became a DJ assistant for a solo DJ who specialized in weddings. Let’s just day that gave me a whole new love for the job.

We recently had Robert DJ our June wedding. Pros were that he was on time and friendly. He handled little hiccups smoothly and w/o complaint. Prices are reasonable and he offers a lot of services, like ceremony recordings and fun add-ons. He really can be a one-stop shop for a lot of wedding entertainment. While I think he is a good all-purpose DJ, I'm not sure that he was the right fit for us in the end. Specifically our two biggest concerns were that 1) he didn't consistently use the language we had asked him to use to address guests and 2) communication leading up to the wedding was less organized than I would have preferred. In our case, we really prioritized communicating with vendors about our desire for an affirming, somewhat non-traditional wedding. From the onset when we hired vendors, we asked about comfort and experience working with a diverse range of guests and requested that vendors be attentive to using inclusive language, especially as it relates to including LGBTQ folks. In the case of DJ services, we requested he not use gendered language like "ladies and gentlemen" due to the gender diversity of our guests. We also had an integrated wedding party so we weren't using some of the traditional wedding party language. I get that this is a specific and maybe unusual request, so we wanted to be really sure our vendors were okay with it, and Robert was super friendly and agreeable when we talked about it. I think Robert's intentions were really good here -- he expressed a lot of desire to make sure he got this right and willingness to be careful. Maybe those requests were made too long ago though, because when we got to the day of, we had a lot of issues here. Our coordinator had to talk to him about using less gendered language, which did not seem to result in much improvement (there was definitely effort...at one point he said "ladies and....guests....esteemed guests" but then he went right back to "ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls"), and it was really frustrating for both us and her. He also told us we'd have a ceremony recording the day after. There was really no rush, but that was what he told us would happen. Instead, we got the recording a week later than he had originally stated, and we were not told it would be delayed until I asked twice. I think it's also worth noting that the ceremony recording did not include the music for procession and recession. (This is on us, we should have confirmed that would be included, but it was disappointing) Communication tended to be a little last-minute and unscheduled -- e.g., spontaneous phone calls rather than putting something on the calendar. Followups were sometimes required. He also texted me (bride) the morning of asking if he could bring an assistant and requesting we add a meal for that additional person. Not a big deal, but I do wish he would have communicated in advance/not while we were all trying to get ready. Otherwise, I thought/heard feedback that some of the music transitions were a bit awkward, but not to an extent that was too disruptive. None of these are big issues, but the multitude of small communication inconveniences and frustrations did add up to where I would not feel comfortable recommending Frederick DJs to a friend. Robert is nice, but I'm not sure he was the right call for our needs. He might be a better fit for someone else, particularly if you are looking to include a number of add-ons and want to use one, reasonably-priced company

In addition, our covered deck, which overlooks both the 1st tee and 18th green, is sure to be a favorite with our guests. Maryland National Golf Club can host ceremonies, as well. Our venue offers both indoor and outdoor spaces, where friends and family can come together and enjoy a beautiful atmosphere while celebrating your love.

I cannot say enough positive things about our experience with Alyssa, their wedding coordinator, and all of the staff at Maryland National Golf Club. Alyssa is very professional, detail oriented, and super easy to work with. She gave us exactly what we asked for and everything we didn't know we needed. She made perfect recommendations based on who we are as a couple, and filled in the gaps with details we had forgotten about. The staff as well was extremely friendly and easy to work with. After our wedding, our families, guests, photographer, and DJ could not say enough good things about Alyssa and the staff here! Maryland National Golf Club itself provided a beautiful, intimate setting for our wedding. We had a little over 90 guests and a wedding party of 4 bridesmaids and 4 groomsmen. We used the outdoor ceremony space and rented white chairs from the venue. They were set up exactly the way we asked, and it turned out beautiful. We also rented their white arbor for the ceremony itself and asked for it to be set up in front of the beautiful greenery and plants on the right side. We provided decorations for the chairs and the arbor, and Alyssa and her staff set everything up perfectly. We also used the inside, upstairs space for our reception. We decided to have our sweet-heart table in front of big windows, and the tables for our guests set up around the rented dance floor in the center of the room. Appetizers and food were served in the space to the right of of their fireplace. Again, it was intimate and perfect! We provided decor for the tables as well and rented their candle vases and Alyssa made everything so beautiful. Everything flowed well, and guests were easily able to move around and find everything. We also used their catering services, and everything was phenomenal! Another aspect of our wedding that our guests could not say enough about. Again, I cannot say enough about how wonderful this venue was. The day of our wedding, I did not feel stressed or worried about any details coming together because I knew everything was prepared and being taken care of by Alyssa and their capable staff. They gave a dream day that my husband and I will treasure forever.

Our wedding here was so much fun and unique, which was the perfect fit for my husband and I. While there are so specific rules of the venue that are in place because of the uniqueness of the venue that can make it a little tough to work around, the team with Fetewell was so easy to communicate with in order to iron out those details and come up with solutions. 10/10!

We cannot say enough great things about Katie! We booked her for both engagement pictures as well as our wedding. We took our engagement photos at the beach when it was still pretty cold out. I wish I could give them more than 5 stars! SR Studio was amazing! They not only worked with me so well, but they did amazing work on my bridal party! Plus my hair and makeup lasted the whole freaking day! I will still use them for events and other needs! If you are looking for a good hair and makeup team for a good cost then SR Studio is where you need to go!
