About this venue

The original 1800s bank barn sits on a once 20 acre horse farm. The weathered wood beams tell of its history, and its worn wood adorns the space in a beautifully neutral palette. The century-old barn is rooted to overlook a sea of golden fields in Carroll County, Maryland. The barn, orchard, bridal suite, and groom's quarters provide an effortless setting for weddings and events. The venue's exposed structure and lofty ceilings establish an airy ambiance, while its expansive doors allow for soft, natural light and a seamless transition to the paver terrace and large deck. Facing into beautiful, tree lined sunsets, and pond views, Montagu Meadows is the perfect spot to celebrate any extraordinary event. Named after Montagu Hankin, a WW II veteran.

The Barn has an open floor plan and includes two bar areas as well as an elevated level that leads to an expansive deck. Our barn features romantic lighting that include crystal chandeliers. The Barn also boasts a 2,000+ square foot patio space with overhead terrace lighting. Farmhouse Tables with gold Chiavari Chairs are included along with several vintage settees and chairs.

    Montagu meadows is an absolutely underrated hidden gem. They have picturesque scenery for all types of wedding themes; big beautiful rustic barn, a pond, garden, fields, and to die for chestnut trees. Not to mention the most beautiful bridal suite and fun groomsman area! Christina and her husband are so welcoming and helpful! Book your wedding here, you won’t regret it!!

    Our wedding was everything we dreamed of and more thanks to Montagu Meadows. This was the only venue we looked at, we fell in love as soon as we toured the property. Christina is amazing and so helpful with the entire process. When we booked with her she sent us a multiple page file filled with vendor recommendations. This made the planning process incredibly easy. This venue is unique in the fact that there is only one wedding held there per weekend. We got to set up and rehearse Friday, have the wedding Saturday and then come back to clean up Sunday. There is no feeling of being rushed and it allows you to really celebrate and enjoy the entire weekend. She even let us have our engagement pictures taken there. It poured the day of our wedding yet the inside of the barn held just as beautiful of a ceremony then outside would have. Our day was perfect and we owe it to Montagu Meadows and their coordinator Lauren. I could go on all day but please consider them when shopping for venues. Thank you Montagu Meadows!!!!

    As a vendor in the wedding industry who frequently works with various venues, I am always pleased when I come across a venue I haven't visited before and find the staff to be professional and welcoming. As a DJ & Photo Booth company, we often encounter unpredictable situations when entering new venues, such as encountering rude staff, being tucked away in inconvenient corners, facing difficulties with power accessibility, or encountering challenges during the loading and unloading process. However, my experience at Montagu Meadows surpassed all expectations by ensuring I had everything I needed to deliver my best performance for the bride, groom, and their guests. Montagu Meadows truly goes above and beyond to cater to their clients' needs. They are incredibly accommodating, willing to assist with any requirements you may have. I was particularly impressed when I witnessed them rearranging a portion of their barn at the last minute to accommodate the caterer. This level of dedication and flexibility is commendable and goes beyond what is typically expected. Not only does Montagu Meadows prioritize their clients, but they also ensure the satisfaction of their vendors and staff. Their commitment to service before self is evident and should be a compelling reason for anyone considering hosting an event or working at this venue to feel excited.
