Art is something that I fell in love with at a young age and has always carried me through life- it lead me to photography. Hi! I'm Meghan. I've had a love for photography since my parents bought me my first camera for Christmas in 2001. I took pictures of anyone and anything that sat still for more than .03 seconds. The more pictures I took, the more I loved it. It became a passion of mine, but it wasn't until later that I had the dream of starting my own business. In the meantime, I teach middle school - 7th grade Language Arts to be exact. Yes, it's exactly as crazy as you're imagining, likely even more so. Teaching has taught me two things: patience and how to laugh at myself.

Laura received her training through assisting some of NYC’s top fashion, editorial and art photographers. Laura has a conviction. That is: that wedding photography be about exceptional imagery, period. She is inspired by documentary photographs with multiple layers of interest, and in both candid and composed images that are sincere and lasting representations of people and of a time.

I found my passion for art while growing up surrounded by horses in a small town in Brazil. The shapes, textures, and colors of the horses always have been inspiring to me. I’ve always wanted to recreate them, but was never really able to. Honestly, my painting/drawing skills were and still are terrible, and that’s when photography came up in my life. I would create imaginary cameras out of my toys and would ‘photograph’ the horses and my neighbors. Photographing people became my passion and then evolved into my work in editorial and wedding photography.

I started in photography much as everyone else did. What was once a hobby in 2002 quickly became a passion. I started out with a 35mm film set up and would hang out in the city capturing candid moments of people going about their day to day lives. For me, it was like stepping outside the world around me and documenting it like looking through a window into a world I was no longer part of. In 2008, when I myself got married, I realized that a wedding day is one of the most emotional moments for a couple. Not only for them but for the families involved as well! It was Oct. 31st, 2008 when I shot my first wedding. I haven't looked back since.

My passion for photography started at a very young age. Polaroid,Kodak, disposable cameras anything I could get my hands on for as long as I can remember. After working for several years in photojournalism and editing I decided to make the switch to a full time wedding photographer in 2010. I haven’t looked back since. I love the rush and excitement of the wedding day. The ability to meet new people and travel new places. Every weekend I get to experience different families, friends, foods and cultures. It’s not a job it’s a gift. My gift in return to you is images I pour my heart and soul into.

I’m half Indian and half Chinese and multilingual (I speak Bahasa, Cantonese, Mandarin and Japanese).
