We include a ton of props - so please visit us - we look so forward to meeting you We set up the ceremony chairs for our couples as well as the tables and chairs for the reception area before you arrive for your wedding day to reduce stress. Any decor items you need are set up by us such as shepherd hooks, easels, signs and much more. We also include lawn games and we have a firepit for use just to add extra ambience. Best part we are across the road from the nearest hotel so guests can walk to our venue AND up to 16 guests can sleep over at Greenock for the whole weekend - so many more happy memories. We can include a planner to manage your wedding on your wedding day too!

The Carolyn Baldwin Lake Pavilion is named after our dear loved one, Carolyn Varner Baldwin, who unexpectedly passed away in 2008 due to an allergic reaction. She was the matriarch of our family and a beautiful, one-in-a-billion type of person with a generous and loving spirit. She was a talented gardener, a devoted fisherwoman who could out-fish the best of 'em (we're talking "sun-up-til-sundown" kind of fishing), was creative and artsy, and never knew a stranger. We felt it only fitting to name this lovely place in her memory. We are a family-operated business. Joanna is the General Manager and works with each client to accommodate varying event needs. She handles a wide range of aspects of the business, from answering questions about what will make your event run smoothly to giving you layout suggestions. We began serving Charlottesville with French and Virginia-inspired cooking at our restaurant, l’etoile, in 1993. Our catering business grew out of that experience, and out of our desire to take part in the celebrations, the rituals, and the ceremonies of people throughout the Central Virginia community. Catering allows us to reach, care for, and serve a larger audience, and to customize consistently excellent culinary experiences for our clients. We have a history of procuring the finest, freshest ingredients for the meals we create and serve, and access to those ingredients through relationships we’ve cultivated for more than 20 years.

Our waterfront reception space offers a picturesque setting for events, featuring a covered raised slate and brick terrace as an elegant outdoor ballroom. The space is equipped with chandeliers, ambient lighting, and heated/air-conditioned indoor dining area with fireplace.
