I am Carolina Schierholz, the owner and Chef of Sweet Carolina Cakes Studio. I create trendy wedding cakes for couples in Fredericksburg, Northern Virginia, and Maryland. I have 16 years of professional expertise and a background in art and design. All my cakes are custom designed, so you can experience the legitimate luxury of having precisely what you want. I will work closely with you to bring your ideas to life. From the first consultation to the delivery on your wedding day, I personally manage every detail.

The core value of my business is quality versus quantity. I would instead make two extraordinary and exquisite cakes than five average ones! For the customer, this means an exceptional quality that only an artisanal business can deliver besides a delectable menu that is constantly being refined.

    I met Carolina at a wedding expo in 2021 and collected her information. Soon after I contacted her to arrange a time to do a cake tasting for our wedding. She provided samples of our choosing plus other samples to try. All of the samples were tasty and it was a difficult decision to narrow down the choices, but we did it! We ended up choosing two flavors for our wedding cake. I picked the Italian Cream, and my husband chose Banana Nut. I created and added the Wedding Cake Topper, and added wooden flowers to the cake. One of the things that Carolina offers is a small one year anniversary cake freshly baked instead of saving the top tier of the wedding cake to eat later. As we enjoyed our anniversary cake, we instantly took a took a trip back to our wedding day. Fast forward to 2024, and I contacted Carolina again to create some magic for our baby shower cake with one layer as Banana Nut and the second layer as Tres Leches. I asked her to create a jungle themed cake and provided a picture as an example. She came through once again and it was enjoyable to eat. For both the Wedding and Baby Shower, Carolina created our cakes like the pictures and it was quite tasty for both occasions. She is also a great communicator and I did not feel lost during the process at all. We will continue to use her in events to come.

Carolina's communication was effective, timely, and clear every step of the way. Her keen eye for detail resulted in a gorgeous wedding cake that perfectly captured the visuals we shared. The cake itself was a work of art - three beautifully decorated layers of strawberry lemonade cake that was a true hit with our guests. Everyone is still raving about how delicious it was! Beyond the exceptional cake, Carolina's services were extremely reasonably priced. We truly felt we received perfection and incredible attention to detail at a very cost effective price.     Carolina did an amazing job on our wedding cake. Everyone absolutely loved how the cake looked and tasted. She was easy to work and communicate with. She was super sweet and welcoming when we meet with her at her home studio.
