The Preston Barn holds 200+ guests and is constructed of reclaimed historic barns from the Hudson Valley. It also includes sliding barn doors, 40’x50’ Vermont stone patio, interior restrooms, AC/Heat, a catering kitchen and more! We are located 80 miles North of NYC and sit on 11 acres of land just outside the Hamlet of Dover Plains. We are close to country settings with rural surroundings and country charm. With neighboring local wineries and hiking trails, it is the ideal venue for any event. It is especially great for wedding couples looking to explore the area with their guests for an extraordinary weekend getaway. Stissing House is one of the oldest taverns in America, located at the crossroads of the village of Pine Plains in the heart of Dutchess County. It’s 90 minutes from New York City, and 30 minutes south of Hudson. It has hosted feasts for generations. Downstairs, intimate dining rooms and fireside lounges are ideal for parties of 8-10 people. Upstairs, the oldest Dutch Colonial ballroom in America is designed for long-table dinners and weddings of 25-150 people. Gather your friends and family for pitchers of shandy and wood fired eggs the day before or morning after your party. Chef/Proprietor Clare de Boer cooks food that is generous and has a sense of place. Ingredients come from surrounding farms and are prepared simply on the tavern’s mammoth hearth. The eggs are laid today, the butter is homemade, and the food is for feasting.
