Built in 1894, this unique and elegant mansion in Devon, Pennsylvania, was home to several prominent Main Line families until it was renovated for public use in 2005. Generous rooms with multiple entryways provide easy traffic flow throughout the spacious wood-paneled interiors, verandas, and terraces. The venue can accommodate up to 135 guests and has ample convenient parking, just steps from the front entryway.

In the heart of Center City, this landmark mansion takes its name from Horace Trumbauer, esteemed architect of America's Gilded Age. His career was launched with the creation of Lynnewood Hall in Elkins Park, the Georgian Revival palace commissioned by streetcar tycoon Peter A. B. Widener in 1897. A native Philadelphian, Trumbauer is also associated with grandiose buildings in New York and Newport, the main library at Harvard University and much of the campus of Duke University. Today, Trumbauer is hailed as one of America's premier architects. In 1906, he embarked on Trumbauer Hall, a formal Colonial Revival building of brick, concrete, limestone and marble construction. What began as one of the most prestigious private city clubs in North America is now also Center City’s best address for high-end entertaining. At the heart of the thriving early industrial community known as Rittenhouse Town, the first paper mill in America was built. It all began when, in 1687, papermaker William Rittenhouse followed other Quaker and Mennonite families emigrating to the newly formed neighborhood of Germantown (founded in 1683). William partnered with Philadelphia’s first printer, purchased a 20-acre plot of land along Paper Mill Run (a tributary of the Wissahickon Creek) and, with the help of his son Nicholas, built the first paper mill in British North America that otherwise could only be delivered from England. For the next 40 years, the Rittenhouse family were the only papermakers in America.
