We found "Mark Joven Photography" through my fiancé who worked with him before during group trips with his friends. I really liked the photos he took we booked him for our engagement photos and he did NOT disappoint at ALL! He brought two assists with him and spent 2 days taking photos for us at multiple locations of our choosing! Mark was very professional and made each day go by seamlessly! We hung out like old friends and made a day of Magic Kingdom after taking our photos at our favorite places in the park! We got all our shots back within a week of taking them and they were all so beautiful I cried! They are some of the best pictures I’ve ever had! We decided to hire him for our wedding as a videographer and backup photographer should we need him! Also his prices are SUPER reasonable and affordable! If you’re looking to book him I wouldn’t hesitate! I’m pretty sure we’re gonna use him for future milestones! Mark is definitely a 10/10 and as a former photographer myself I am VERY picky when it comes to my photography so I can say I don’t say 10/10 unless i truly mean it!!

As a last minute request, I asked for a vertical short instagram reel. He promptly put together a quick film for me to post that was perfect to add to my instagram. We are beyond thankful that we chose Chris as our videographer for our special day!

On the day of, she guided us through the best places and poses, made sure we got photos with everyone and helped us get our big family together for the most beautiful shots. I don't plan on getting married again but we know Tai and her team have become our family photographer now :)

Jaimie made us a delicious and beautiful wedding cake that everyone loved! She really brought our vision to life and we feel so lucky to have found Red Bandana Bakery! Highly recommended!

I’m basically speechless. This company is truly so amazing! They made all my wedding dreams come true and they are top notch with service ensuring my husband and I were taken care of! Always ensuring we have a drink in hand and snack or meal when and if needed! They took care of us in EVERY ASPECT! Even to the point I was able to walk down the aisle and the manger on site from simply fresh that day noticed my pocket of my wedding dress was sticking out so I was able to fix it before going down the aisle, so glad she told me because my pocket sticking out in all the photos of a once in a lifetime moment would have really not been great! They have incredible communication from before you book, after you book the tasting and just being flexible for meeting and walk through! The food was incredible (like seriously INCREDIBLE) and they ensured EVER single detail was exactly as I dreamed! I really am so happy I booked with simply fresh and would over and over 100 times again!!! If your unsure about to to book with for catering stop looking now and book simply fresh I’m the most sure you will not regret it! Wish we had some pictures of the food. All of the food was plated beautifully! Even our salad had eatable flowers! (I mean come on) and I really just could not have asked for anything more from simply fresh! For our cocktail hour we did crab cakes, stuffed mushrooms and bruschetta! For dinner we did a garden salad, a chicken option, a steak option and a veggie option they were all to die for! Like seriously people are still talking about how amazing the food was and our wedding was over a month ago.

Kelton from Marquee Artists was amazing! He was a communicative and active participant in the planning of the music and the announcements at my wedding on March 9. Kelton provided an extensive list of potential songs to play in a shared Google Document with columns for “play” and “do not play” which was great. Also, I was impressed that he attended the walk through of the Whittemore House a month prior to the wedding, asking pertinent questions of the Whittemore staff about the placement of various things and how best to provide the sound amplification that would be needed. He provided wireless mics which worked really well for the toasts. Kelton did a great job as the master of ceremony and his mix of the selected music was fun and fabulous. He had the crowd dancing, rocking to the music. Many of the older folks told me that they hadn’t danced in years but were having lots of fun doing so then. Having him on our wedding team instilled so much confidence in me, my daughter and new son-in-law, who is an amateur DJ. They were so taken by Kelton that, if possible, they would like to attend future events at which Kelton is the DJ!! I HIGHLY recommend him.

I cannot recommend Christy and her team enough. She was communicative, receptive and accommodating from the start. I wound up changing my look twice and she could not have been nicer about it. Her makeup style is nothing short of stunning. I felt every bit a princess on my wedding day and my wedding party kept saying they get like they were “getting celebrity treatment”. Her makeup was natural but enhanced what I wanted so I felt glamorous but didn’t look cakey and her pre- makeup moisturizing routine is 10/10. I’ll use her services again.

My wife and I were searching for a photographer who could capture our wedding as it really was, from the intimate moments to the wild dance floor, and Natasha's documentary-style fit our needs exactly! She listened carefully to what we wanted - minimal posed pictures, non-traditional "first look", lots of candids, etc - and she more than delivered. We had 130 guest count and Natasha covered basically every inch of our wedding day, no need or want for a second shooter. She was everywhere and so stealthy that we didn't realize she was so close to us the whole night until we got our pictures back. Our ceremony was outside and dinner/dancing were inside, and regardless of the lighting, the pictures turned out perfectly, she was even able to capture non-blurry pictures of guests jamming on a packed dance floor! She was a pleasure to work with, the instructions of her process were easy to follow from start to finish, and had a lot of examples to look through which gave us a good idea of what we were getting. We especially appreciated that she sent us a few pictures the morning after our wedding as a sneak peek, very nice touch. She's genuinely kind and calm which helped us remain present during our wedding day. Everyone who has seen our photos are amazed by the quality and we are too. We're thrilled we picked Natasha and highly recommend her!

Jessica is AMAZING, we hired her for our wedding and also did the engagement pictures with her. I am brazilian and since she is also I thought maybe my now husband would be a little uncomfortable taking the pictures but no way, not with Jessica, the way she makes everything seems so smooth and simple makes you think you are spending a good afternoon with a friend! Josephine Butler Parks Center (JPBC) is such a beautiful venue, we had our wedding there in November of 2024 and couldn’t have picked a better place. The entire process of venue selection can be daunting, and JBPC made it easy for us. We signed up for an initial walkthrough and fell in love with the history of the building, the unique layout, and the beautiful art and color schemes in each room. Steve guided us on our tour and answered all our questions, and we knew right away that this was where we wanted to hold our wedding. Taking several months to plan our wedding, we coordinated with JPBC staff to do two additional tours where they answered even more questions and allowed us to see what different lighting configurations looked like and make measurements to finalize our configuration for the big day. For the reception, we decided to seat our guests in the main ballroom, have the dance floor on the second floor foyer, place the bar out on the balcony, and serve the buffet and cake in the south gallery. Seating was a little tight in the main ballroom, as we had our 140 guests sit at fifteen round tables that were 5 feet in diameter, with a sweetheart table by the larger fireplace. But we made it work and it was a fantastic day for us overall!

The venue fee is $22,275 for under 599 guests, and $22,800 for 600-1000 guests, and that includes the building rental and support costs, as well as off-site scanning of your vendor vehicles, security for your load in/out and one set of front doors for guest entrance. When hosting at the Mellon, you will need to work with one of our approved vendors to supply all of your event needs (catering, rentals, décor, valet, ect.).

We had our son’s Wedding Reception in Andrew Mellon Auditorium in September, 2019. When we wanted to look at the venue, we contacted Jaime Ward of Event Emissary, who manages the venue, and she was so professional and helpful. She kindly agreed to be the event coordinator for our son’s Wedding Reception. We couldn’t have asked for a better venue! Having looked at a few hotel ballrooms, when we first looked at the Andrew Mellon Auditorium, we were awestruck! Even the pretty photos we had seen didn’t prepare us to visualize how magnificent it is! This venue is just magical. Not only are the inside of the venue, the exquisite foyers, and the great hall, also, the surroundings - a photographers’ dream. During the months leading up to the Reception, we were in contact with Jaime. She always answered our e-mails promptly and patiently answered our countless questions about logistics and such. Jaime’s supreme organizational skills took the stress out of everything! 0ur 450 plus guests were raving as to what a beautiful setting Andrew Mellon is. They were also all praise for the event itself – how thoughtfully organized and coordinated. Jaime was just brilliant at handling every aspect of the event, took care of every detail. Our son and daughter-in-law loved every second of their special event. It was so gratifying to see it all come together so beautifully on the day of the Reception. Our heartfelt and sincere thanks to Jaime for helping to make the wedding reception – the one to remember for our lifetime! Our advice to any bride and groom considering this venue – just do it and you will love it! Jaime and staff will go over and above to make sure your dream day will be a memorable one!

My friend’s pictures were beautiful, so I reached out to Nicole and Jose. They helped us with every step of the process, even with picking out outfits before the shoot. They’re kind and professional and just so easy to work with. I am not used to being in front of the camera, whereas my fiance is a natural in front of the camera. I told them that up front and they made sure to make me feel comfortable while just letting my fiance be himself, and the pictures came out so great! Warm and Beautiful Photos by an Incredible Photographer UPDATE (6/2/21): Olga continues to be incredible and everything we could have ever dreamed of in a wedding photographer. She also took care of finding us a second photographer (Marcus), a videographer (Glenn), and a live stream assistant (Matt) - all of whom were wonderful, professional, kind, and talented. We were able to do first look/couple photos around the Library of Congress and Supreme Court with Olga, Marcus, and Glenn and all three made it a fun and easy-going experience that resulted in truly stunning photos. After the wedding (and the "engagement shoot") Olga sent us a "sneak peak" of the photos within just a few days! We are so grateful we found her and could not recommend her and her team enough!!! ORIGINAL (7/12/20): Olga is AMAZING. We hired her for our wedding several months after we got engaged and were not intending to do an engagement shoot (my fiance does not love pictures haha). But after COVID forced us to postpone our wedding by 11 months, we decided that an engagement-style photo shoot on our would-be wedding date would be a great way to make a sweet memory on a tough date. There are so many positive things I could say about this place that it’s hard for me to know where to start, so I’ll break it up into categories. VALUE: At this point, I’ve researched just about every wedding venue that exists in northern Virginia, so I can say that The Tower Club is one of a kind in offering an upscale wedding experience for a much lower price point than several of their competitors. You can save additional money by having your ceremony offsite, which is what we did. LOCATION: The Tower Club is located right by major highways and a metro station, and allows you to book a generously discounted room block with the Tysons Corner Marriott hotel, which is within walking distance of the venue. All these factors make this the perfect choice if you have lots of guests traveling from out of town. As for the venue itself, it’s absolutely stunning. Between the glass ceiling, huge windows, and wraparound balcony, you get tons of natural light, as well as a panoramic view of northern Virginia and DC. We even took our wedding photos here after our original location fell through, and they turned out gorgeously. FOOD: Again, the value of what you get for the price is excellent. All food is freshly prepared in The Tower Club’s onsite kitchen, and you cannot go wrong with any of their menu selections. The food here is so delicious that we had a very hard time deciding what to serve, and our guests raved about their meals. They are also very diligent about accommodating dietary restrictions and food allergies, which was especially important for me and my family. STAFF: Everyone I have interacted with through The Tower Club has demonstrated above and beyond customer service. Lindsay Rhoades worked with me every step of the way, from the very first tour to the final walkthrough. She is unfailingly friendly, knowledgeable, and easy to contact with questions and concerns, which alleviated so much stress on my end. She worked tirelessly to ensure that every single detail of my wedding was nothing less than perfect. Desirae, the manager in charge of my reception the day of, also did an excellent job ensuring that everything ran smoothly and attending to my husband’s and I’s every anticipated need. If you’re currently planning a smaller-sized wedding in the DC area, The Tower Club is, without a doubt, a must-see venue.

However, I knew the deciding factor would be whether I felt confident that the artist could make every member of my bridal party that was diverse (in terms of race, disability, and LGBTQ) bridal party look and feel beautiful. Carla's portfolio showed me that she really lives her values of inclusion and I booked her with full confidence after our phone consultation the day after my inquiry. She gave me different options for the schedule for either just her or her and a team. I ended up going with the option of her and her team to not start so early and have a more efficient schedule. I was right to place my trust in her and the team she works with! I did a trial a couple weeks before my wedding, which I cannot recommend highly enough. It was definitely one of the most fun experiences of the entire wedding planning process! Carla spent a few hours with me trying different looks based on my inspiration photos and the vibe of my dress. I left so excited and knowing I had options I liked based on how I was feeling and the weather. On my wedding day she and her team were fantastic and executed flawlessly and made everyone comfortable on what was a hectic morning. My mother hadn't worn makeup since her wedding almost 40 years ago. My sister and maid of honor is also autistic with intellectual disabilities and had never worn makeup but wanted to be included (and look like a princess!) Carla and her team (special shoutout to makeup artist Mong!) were so patient and understanding and put them both at ease, which I appreciated so much. My other bridesmaids had a wonderful experience with makeup artist Nas as well. In terms of myself, I can say without question I've never felt more beautiful and glamorous but still myself than I did on my wedding day. Carla came with us to the church and fixed my veil that blew off during my first look and touched up everyone before we walked down the aisle. The look stayed the whole day and my hair held through the dip in our first dance into the after party. Going with Carla for hair and makeup was easily one of the best decisions I made in wedding planning and I cannot recommend her highly enough!

Words cannot define the worth and joy it was to have Kawania and her team be a part of my wedding day. I, being their guest or in their bridal party felt the disorganization that their planners or self-planning brought. This was not the case with Kawania. We had glowing comments about our wedding day for even a year after and how it was not just a ceremony but a day of entertainment. She is an excellent communicator. We had regular meetings throughout the year, about once a week. I have seen my friends have wedding planners who do not get back to them for several days after they have a question about their wedding. Kawania brought my vendors to me instead of me having to look for vendors on my own and when one did not work she always had another one that could take the place. She set up meetings with me and my vendors one-on-one and reviewed all of our vendor contracts to make sure that we were getting a fair contract and that expectations for the vendor and for us were both reasonable and what we were looking for. Being a very busy working professional I appreciated that Kawania went above and beyond to make sure that I stayed on the schedule and was extremely patient when there were moments when I could not. I value how she brought my vision to life and had such great attention to small details that my day was exceptional. I have seen my guests feature elements of my wedding at their subsequent events and it speaks to how she was able to set the bar high for what a classy and unique event should be. Far beyond a wedding planner, she has become someone that I keep in contact with after the wedding. She even checked in on me when there was a major catastrophic event that took place in the area where I lived months after the wedding. There were even moments when I became uncertain or stressed and focused on the wrong thing when it came to my wedding. Kawania, quite like a mother figure helped me realize what my focus should be and to ignore all other distractions so that when I walked down the aisle, I was in full confidence of how the day was going to be and did not feel a single ounce of stress on my wedding day. I could not be more thrilled to work with Kawania again. Although I do not see myself getting remarried I would certainly work with her for any big event I needed in the future. She has such a positive energy and global about her and brings a light to every interaction even difficult ones that makes her pleasant, respectable, dependable, and all around the absolute reason why my big day went off such success. I cannot state how tirelessly she and her team worked so when I did meet them in person but felt like I was meeting friends who knew exactly what I wanted. Create You Events was the reason why our dream wedding became a reality!! My husband and I consider ourselves to be good planners, and like other couples, we thought we could make do without a wedding planner. We were only looking for a day-of coordinator when we reached out to Create You Events. We interviewed Vicky and realized the value she could provide us throughout the planning process. We quickly changed our stance and hired her as both our day-of coordinator and wedding planner. This was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. The amount of time and mental energy saved was beyond worth it. Vicky and her team's guidance kept us on schedule and organized during our nine-month timeline. Vicky was able to handle all obstacles in stride. No challenge was ever too big for her, and that calmed many of our nerves. What sets Vicky and her team apart is their ability to complement the areas that my husband and I lacked. We were transparent with those aspects which we weren't as prepared for and our budget constraints, and they would always found solutions or presented us with alternatives that met our needs. There were countless times when Vicky would save the day by bringing up things that we wouldn't even consider! She was great with vendor management and helped identify vendors that fit our criteria. In addition to Create You Events' planning and coordination service, we also opted for their decor services. What was the most dreaded part of planning for us was no longer a challenge. Trust me when I say they made all of our worries go away when it came to decor and signage. We were able to provide our vision and they delivered on every little detail. The arrangements and signage fit the elegance of our theme and venue perfectly. It was a huge benefit having a team that already understood our vision and was attentive to every request. Where do I begin for the day-of coordination? Vicky and her team were the calming force to our chaotic day. We wanted to maximize our day, so we planned our timeline down to the minute. From their planning, they set up our day so that we didn't have to make any major decisions. All we had to do was follow the timeline they put together for us. This allowed us to enjoy our day and appreciate the little moments we would have otherwise missed. Even when things that were out of our control went array, Vicky and her team didn't even flinch from the pressure and were quick to find a resolution, having no impact on our day. Simply put, we couldn't have had a perfect day without the involvement from Create You Events. The planning, decor, and coordination was stress free for us and allowed us to allocate our time to other areas that required more of our individual attention. Vicky and her team were incredibly easy to work with and we felt comfortable enough to share all of our circumstances with her. OMG! I absolutely love Katy. From the initial appointment to determine what our vision was for the wedding and reception decor, I felt very at ease with Katy. Katy took great care to try and learn what my vision was for the wedding and how to use her expertise to create what I wanted. I liked that - and this enabled us to truly create a custom one of a kind look for our big day. Katy was kind, accommodating and responsive to emails, texts and phone calls. I would bounce things off of Katy and without hesitation, she would first clarify what my vision was, and then add her input based on her expert eye for detail, color coordination, etc. On the day of my wedding, I broke down into tears at the beautiful, dreamy atmosphere that Katy and her team had created for my spouse and I. It was literally everything thing I had dreamed of; it had the glitz, glamour, bling, sparkle, romance and more than I wanted. Katy even added touches here and there that she felt were needed to add more beauty to the venue. She exercised her creative rights. My guests could not and have not stopped talking about the beauty of it all. Additionally, a few days before the wedding, I was not pleased with a mock up of my bouquet (provided by another vendor) - and Katy to the rescue! Within about 3-4 business days, Katy and her staff PERSONALLY delivered the most beautiful, sparkling bouquet that I have ever seen (along with a jr. bouquet and corsages). She made it her business to make me happy. I am truly sad that I won't be talking to Katy as much any more since the wedding is now over. Katy delivered on ALLLLLLL levels and I can't say enough about her. Thank you soo much Katy. You will forever be a better part of our memories. If you have the pleasure to work with Katy, you will not be disappointed, I promise you. I really felt that Katy put her heart into this....and the results show it. ​
