I am brazilian and since she is also I thought maybe my now husband would be a little uncomfortable taking the pictures but no way, not with Jessica, the way she makes everything seems so smooth and simple makes you think you are spending a good afternoon with a friend! And her work is definitely THE BEST! On my wedding day she managed to speak both languages with my family and my guests and took so much amazing pictures that now is hard to choose! Everyone loved her job and she sent the pictures so fast that I was really impressed! From now one my dates for events with pictures will depend on her agenda. Kelton from Marquee Artists was amazing! He was a communicative and active participant in the planning of the music and the announcements at my wedding on March 9. Kelton provided an extensive list of potential songs to play in a shared Google Document with columns for “play” and “do not play” which was great. Also, I was impressed that he attended the walk through of the Whittemore House a month prior to the wedding, asking pertinent questions of the Whittemore staff about the placement of various things and how best to provide the sound amplification that would be needed. He provided wireless mics which worked really well for the toasts. Kelton did a great job as the master of ceremony and his mix of the selected music was fun and fabulous. He had the crowd dancing, rocking to the music. Many of the older folks told me that they hadn’t danced in years but were having lots of fun doing so then. Having him on our wedding team instilled so much confidence in me, my daughter and new son-in-law, who is an amateur DJ. They were so taken by Kelton that, if possible, they would like to attend future events at which Kelton is the DJ!! I HIGHLY recommend him.

There are so many positive things I could say about this place that it’s hard for me to know where to start, so I’ll break it up into categories. VALUE: At this point, I’ve researched just about every wedding venue that exists in northern Virginia, so I can say that The Tower Club is one of a kind in offering an upscale wedding experience for a much lower price point than several of their competitors. You can save additional money by having your ceremony offsite, which is what we did. LOCATION: The Tower Club is located right by major highways and a metro station, and allows you to book a generously discounted room block with the Tysons Corner Marriott hotel, which is within walking distance of the venue. All these factors make this the perfect choice if you have lots of guests traveling from out of town. As for the venue itself, it’s absolutely stunning. Between the glass ceiling, huge windows, and wraparound balcony, you get tons of natural light, as well as a panoramic view of northern Virginia and DC. We even took our wedding photos here after our original location fell through, and they turned out gorgeously. FOOD: Again, the value of what you get for the price is excellent. All food is freshly prepared in The Tower Club’s onsite kitchen, and you cannot go wrong with any of their menu selections. The food here is so delicious that we had a very hard time deciding what to serve, and our guests raved about their meals. They are also very diligent about accommodating dietary restrictions and food allergies, which was especially important for me and my family. STAFF: Everyone I have interacted with through The Tower Club has demonstrated above and beyond customer service. Lindsay Rhoades worked with me every step of the way, from the very first tour to the final walkthrough. She is unfailingly friendly, knowledgeable, and easy to contact with questions and concerns, which alleviated so much stress on my end. She worked tirelessly to ensure that every single detail of my wedding was nothing less than perfect. Desirae, the manager in charge of my reception the day of, also did an excellent job ensuring that everything ran smoothly and attending to my husband’s and I’s every anticipated need. If you’re currently planning a smaller-sized wedding in the DC area, The Tower Club is, without a doubt, a must-see venue.

Wonderful service, a wonderful person, and beautiful florals! Mountain Mama Florals was such a pleasure to work with! Savannah was always quick to respond and was so helpful in guiding me through the floral process, since I was unsure about what I wanted. She sent me recommendations and inspiration photos and always gave me multiple styles to choose from, like when we were choosing vases. She was also super nice and flexible when I wanted to add things to our centerpieces and used photos to make sure we were on the same page with what we were getting. She even was able to add an extra centerpiece day off when I forgot to tell her that I had added a table..whoops! We were so lucky to have found someone who matched our budget and made us the most beautiful floral arrangements! I was so happy with my bouquet and our guests loved them too. So many people wanted to take some of the beautiful flowers home with them! I have already recommended Mountain Mama Florals to a friend who is getting married in the spring and I hope to be able use them for other events in the future.

Kristy was the wedding vendor I didn’t know I needed, until I met her! My husband and I hired Kristy as our day of coordinator for our wedding last weekend and she was nothing short of amazing! Once our wedding was about 4 months out and we really started to get into the weeds of planning our big day, we realized that we needed a day of coordinator as we were doing a lot of DIY touches for the wedding and needed someone there to make sure our vision could actually come to life. Upon meeting Kristy, she immediately gave us a ton of ideas as to where to thrift on a tight budget and had so much information and helpful tips to offer. She also took over the vendor communication 3 months out which was a huge lift in the final planning stage! She was very effective in her coordination with all of our vendors and point of contacts so that on the day of the wedding we were really just enjoying the day both carefree and stress-free. Kristy offers a ton of helpful documents to review after your first session with her and she creates a custom timeline for you with the day scheduled to the minute. She was so organized and really kept us on track! Kristy also did an amazing job with the breakdown of the event especially since we brought in a lot of the decor in ourselves. She was flexible in making sure that all of our items got into one of our family member’s cars so it could be picked up whenever we had time the next day. This was a huge help so that guests at the wedding weren’t carrying flowers, vases, and signs home for us and instead headed directly to the after party. She even texted my parents the morning after with the details of where all of our items were stored and shared some great photos (and a reel with us) from the day! :) Kristy was also an advocate for us as clients, which went a really long way. We were having issues communicating well with one of our vendors, but Kristy stepped in and found a way to get a hold of the vendor and ensure our ask could be met. Without that push, our day would have looked a lot different than the vision we had hoped for- she really made our day come to life. After going through the wedding process, I truly think everyone needs a day of coordinator so if you have a slight inclination that someone is needed, think no further and contact Kristy! While weddings can get expensive as we all know, the best use of our money on our wedding day was spent on Kristy. Looking back on our day, we can’t thank her enough!!

Katy did an absolutely incredible job with our wedding florals. We provided her a few inspiration pictures of the look that we were going for and she took it from there and designed the arrangements to perfection. Katy was very flexible and easy to work with, even when we made some super last minute changes (to include the boutonnieres, which we had completely forgotten about until days before the wedding). On the wedding day, Katy stuck around hours after setting up the arrangements to make sure everything was perfect when our vendors flipped the room from the ceremony to reception. We wanted a photographer that has a great eye for candid shots and heard about these two from a friend who had their engagement and wedding shot by them. My friend’s pictures were beautiful, so I reached out to Nicole and Jose. They helped us with every step of the process, even with picking out outfits before the shoot. They’re kind and professional and just so easy to work with. I am not used to being in front of the camera, whereas my fiance is a natural in front of the camera. I told them that up front and they made sure to make me feel comfortable while just letting my fiance be himself, and the pictures came out so great! They are highly responsive as far as communication goes and prices are extremely reasonable for such high quality work. Highly highly recommend!

I love how exciting and creative wedding photography can be while also giving me the opportunity to create something that is so meaningful to others. I got started with photography back in Michigan as a kid with my mom's old Minolta SLR. It wasn't until years later at art school in Kansas City that I realized how fulfilling and exciting wedding photography could be. It has been my focus ever since.

As a DJ I work with many different photographers, yet there are a only a few who stick out as being great at what they do, Asa is one of them! He's super attentive to the details and also pays attention to the big picture which is very helpful at an event as dynamic as a wedding. You know someone is experienced when they show up early, relaxed and with a smile on their face, all signs of a true professional. As for his photos, well they are simply awesome!

I’m Carla Pressley and I do hair and makeup! I’m a mixed African American/Korean chick born the year of the DOG in July which makes me a fiercely loyal sentimental Cancer. I also talk to most dogs and have been the proud mother to two Jindo dogs. I laugh EXACTLY like my two brothers, TRY eating vegan most of the time, LOVE yoga, and tear up EVERY time dads see’s the bride for the first time.

When I was looking for a hair and makeup artist, I wanted someone who I felt confident could help me decide the look for my wedding and come up with options for my naturally curly hair. However, I knew the deciding factor would be whether I felt confident that the artist could make every member of my bridal party that was diverse (in terms of race, disability, and LGBTQ) bridal party look and feel beautiful. Carla's portfolio showed me that she really lives her values of inclusion and I booked her with full confidence after our phone consultation the day after my inquiry. She gave me different options for the schedule for either just her or her and a team. I ended up going with the option of her and her team to not start so early and have a more efficient schedule. I was right to place my trust in her and the team she works with! I did a trial a couple weeks before my wedding, which I cannot recommend highly enough. It was definitely one of the most fun experiences of the entire wedding planning process! Carla spent a few hours with me trying different looks based on my inspiration photos and the vibe of my dress. I left so excited and knowing I had options I liked based on how I was feeling and the weather. On my wedding day she and her team were fantastic and executed flawlessly and made everyone comfortable on what was a hectic morning. My mother hadn't worn makeup since her wedding almost 40 years ago. My sister and maid of honor is also autistic with intellectual disabilities and had never worn makeup but wanted to be included (and look like a princess!) Carla and her team (special shoutout to makeup artist Mong!) were so patient and understanding and put them both at ease, which I appreciated so much. My other bridesmaids had a wonderful experience with makeup artist Nas as well. In terms of myself, I can say without question I've never felt more beautiful and glamorous but still myself than I did on my wedding day. Carla came with us to the church and fixed my veil that blew off during my first look and touched up everyone before we walked down the aisle. The look stayed the whole day and my hair held through the dip in our first dance into the after party. Going with Carla for hair and makeup was easily one of the best decisions I made in wedding planning and I cannot recommend her highly enough!

Words cannot define the worth and joy it was to have Kawania and her team be a part of my wedding day. She was a constant advocate for our needs and budget throughout the process, being realistic at every turn. What I know now is that what you get with Kawania is experience and know-how of the industry. She has planned several weddings and events before and knows how to troubleshoot mishaps that may happen on the wedding day in real time. She understands that the day of the event is a special moment for everyone involved and she knows not to bring stress to the wedding party and to allow them to live in the moment. At subsequent weddings, I have felt that my friends needed this approach with their planners on their wedding day/weekend. I, being their guest or in their bridal party felt the disorganization that their planners or self-planning brought. This was not the case with Kawania. We had glowing comments about our wedding day for even a year after and how it was not just a ceremony but a day of entertainment. She is an excellent communicator. We had regular meetings throughout the year, about once a week. I have seen my friends have wedding planners who do not get back to them for several days after they have a question about their wedding. Kawania brought my vendors to me instead of me having to look for vendors on my own and when one did not work she always had another one that could take the place. She set up meetings with me and my vendors one-on-one and reviewed all of our vendor contracts to make sure that we were getting a fair contract and that expectations for the vendor and for us were both reasonable and what we were looking for. Being a very busy working professional I appreciated that Kawania went above and beyond to make sure that I stayed on the schedule and was extremely patient when there were moments when I could not. I value how she brought my vision to life and had such great attention to small details that my day was exceptional. I have seen my guests feature elements of my wedding at their subsequent events and it speaks to how she was able to set the bar high for what a classy and unique event should be. Far beyond a wedding planner, she has become someone that I keep in contact with after the wedding. She even checked in on me when there was a major catastrophic event that took place in the area where I lived months after the wedding. There were even moments when I became uncertain or stressed and focused on the wrong thing when it came to my wedding. Kawania, quite like a mother figure helped me realize what my focus should be and to ignore all other distractions so that when I walked down the aisle, I was in full confidence of how the day was going to be and did not feel a single ounce of stress on my wedding day. I could not be more thrilled to work with Kawania again. Although I do not see myself getting remarried I would certainly work with her for any big event I needed in the future. She has such a positive energy and global about her and brings a light to every interaction even difficult ones that makes her pleasant, respectable, dependable, and all around the absolute reason why my big day went off such success. I cannot state how tirelessly she and her team worked so when I did meet them in person but felt like I was meeting friends who knew exactly what I wanted. You will not regret working with Kawania and Howerton Wooten events!

Create You Events was the reason why our dream wedding became a reality!! My husband and I consider ourselves to be good planners, and like other couples, we thought we could make do without a wedding planner. We were only looking for a day-of coordinator when we reached out to Create You Events. We interviewed Vicky and realized the value she could provide us throughout the planning process. We quickly changed our stance and hired her as both our day-of coordinator and wedding planner. This was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. The amount of time and mental energy saved was beyond worth it. Vicky and her team's guidance kept us on schedule and organized during our nine-month timeline. Vicky was able to handle all obstacles in stride. No challenge was ever too big for her, and that calmed many of our nerves. What sets Vicky and her team apart is their ability to complement the areas that my husband and I lacked. We were transparent with those aspects which we weren't as prepared for and our budget constraints, and they would always found solutions or presented us with alternatives that met our needs. There were countless times when Vicky would save the day by bringing up things that we wouldn't even consider! She was great with vendor management and helped identify vendors that fit our criteria. In addition to Create You Events' planning and coordination service, we also opted for their decor services. What was the most dreaded part of planning for us was no longer a challenge. Trust me when I say they made all of our worries go away when it came to decor and signage. We were able to provide our vision and they delivered on every little detail. The arrangements and signage fit the elegance of our theme and venue perfectly. It was a huge benefit having a team that already understood our vision and was attentive to every request. Where do I begin for the day-of coordination? Vicky and her team were the calming force to our chaotic day. We wanted to maximize our day, so we planned our timeline down to the minute. From their planning, they set up our day so that we didn't have to make any major decisions. All we had to do was follow the timeline they put together for us. This allowed us to enjoy our day and appreciate the little moments we would have otherwise missed. Even when things that were out of our control went array, Vicky and her team didn't even flinch from the pressure and were quick to find a resolution, having no impact on our day. Simply put, we couldn't have had a perfect day without the involvement from Create You Events. The planning, decor, and coordination was stress free for us and allowed us to allocate our time to other areas that required more of our individual attention. Vicky and her team were incredibly easy to work with and we felt comfortable enough to share all of our circumstances with her. We will always give the highest recommendation to Create You Events to our friends and family for their wedding and/or any major event. We are still left in awe by how they were able to listen to our vision and run with it. We definitely won't miss wedding planning, but will miss our planning calls with Vicky. Just knowing we had the certainty and guidance from her made us feel like everything would be alright. Vicky, can we still have calls with you to help us plan the rest of our life? Owner/operator Jaimie Mertz went to culinary school in 2011 with the plan to become a pastry chef, and a year later doctors put her autistic brother Jack on a gluten-free casein-free diet to try to help with some behavioral issues.

Jaimie made us a delicious and beautiful wedding cake that everyone loved! She really brought our vision to life and we feel so lucky to have found Red Bandana Bakery! Highly recommended!

Hi! I'm Andrew, nice to meet you. I originally studied Photography at Salisbury University before moving on to teach Ballroom dancing for 7 years. Andrew is a professional. From beginning to end we felt confident in his ability to run the show. He became part of our "vendor" team a couple weeks from our wedding but he made us feel as if he was hired way back. No added stress with him (can I get an AMEN?!). He made space for us before and after the wedding for a few couples-questions and I think that was our favorite part of the whole thing. We have sweet, loving, cozy, and real footage of all the jitters before and all the joy and happiness after the wedding. WE WILL BE FOREVER THANKFUL TO THIS MAN. WE LOVE YOU ANDREW

So professional, easy to work with and make you feel completely comfortable in front of the camera (for our interview-style branding video). During the styled shoot, we barely knew they were there. They capture shots in a way that's discrete, which is definitely what you want on your wedding day so your guests don't get distracted from watching you during the ceremony! The final product for both of our projects together was amazing. A talented team that anyone would be lucky to work with.
