We found "Mark Joven Photography" through my fiancé who worked with him before during group trips with his friends. I really liked the photos he took we booked him for our engagement photos and he did NOT disappoint at ALL! He brought two assists with him and spent 2 days taking photos for us at multiple locations of our choosing! Mark was very professional and made each day go by seamlessly! We hung out like old friends and made a day of Magic Kingdom after taking our photos at our favorite places in the park! We got all our shots back within a week of taking them and they were all so beautiful I cried! They are some of the best pictures I’ve ever had! We decided to hire him for our wedding as a videographer and backup photographer should we need him! Also his prices are SUPER reasonable and affordable! If you’re looking to book him I wouldn’t hesitate! I’m pretty sure we’re gonna use him for future milestones! Mark is definitely a 10/10 and as a former photographer myself I am VERY picky when it comes to my photography so I can say I don’t say 10/10 unless i truly mean it!!

We got mini pies and treats from Pie Gourmet for our wedding reception and the pie bar set-up using their pies were such a hit! Dorah, the owner, was so accommodating to all our needs and dietary restrictions. We ordered a few nut-free and dairy-free free options and I heard they did offer gluten free pies as well. Her team went above and beyond and even answered all our questions past store hours which was quite heartwarming because it showed how much they cared. We'll definitely be ordering again for our next event!

We had some minor requested adjustments and made it perfect - I feel that is particularly telling to Chris' care and attention to quality. Our wedding cake was absolutely beautiful and delicious - Jaimie did an amazing job bringing our vision to life with different layers and flavors just as we had discussed. Always ensuring we have a drink in hand and snack or meal when and if needed! They took care of us in EVERY ASPECT! Even to the point I was able to walk down the aisle and the manger on site from simply fresh that day noticed my pocket of my wedding dress was sticking out so I was able to fix it before going down the aisle, so glad she told me because my pocket sticking out in all the photos of a once in a lifetime moment would have really not been great! They have incredible communication from before you book, after you book the tasting and just being flexible for meeting and walk through! The food was incredible (like seriously INCREDIBLE) and they ensured EVER single detail was exactly as I dreamed! I really am so happy I booked with simply fresh and would over and over 100 times again!!! If your unsure about to to book with for catering stop looking now and book simply fresh I’m the most sure you will not regret it! Wish we had some pictures of the food. All of the food was plated beautifully! Even our salad had eatable flowers! (I mean come on) and I really just could not have asked for anything more from simply fresh! For our cocktail hour we did crab cakes, stuffed mushrooms and bruschetta! For dinner we did a garden salad, a chicken option, a steak option and a veggie option they were all to die for! Like seriously people are still talking about how amazing the food was and our wedding was over a month ago.

Kelton from Marquee Artists is awesome - he killed it dj-ing for the clients, the dance floor was non-stop going nuts the whole time! His demeanor is super low-key and easy going, and he was very easy to work with, which means a lot in this field. Weddings have lots of moving parts and can be chaotic, but having vendors that are kind and willing to work as a team makes the day go a whole lot smoother. The couple had lots of requests for songs in completely different genres, but he managed to keep the party going with no awkward pauses and seamless transitions. I highly recommend hiring him if you want someone that's going to work well with everyone and make sure to light the dance floor on fire!

My wife and I were searching for a photographer who could capture our wedding as it really was, from the intimate moments to the wild dance floor, and Natasha's documentary-style fit our needs exactly! She listened carefully to what we wanted - minimal posed pictures, non-traditional "first look", lots of candids, etc - and she more than delivered. We had 130 guest count and Natasha covered basically every inch of our wedding day, no need or want for a second shooter. She was everywhere and so stealthy that we didn't realize she was so close to us the whole night until we got our pictures back. Our ceremony was outside and dinner/dancing were inside, and regardless of the lighting, the pictures turned out perfectly, she was even able to capture non-blurry pictures of guests jamming on a packed dance floor! She was a pleasure to work with, the instructions of her process were easy to follow from start to finish, and had a lot of examples to look through which gave us a good idea of what we were getting. We especially appreciated that she sent us a few pictures the morning after our wedding as a sneak peek, very nice touch. She's genuinely kind and calm which helped us remain present during our wedding day. Everyone who has seen our photos are amazed by the quality and we are too. We're thrilled we picked Natasha and highly recommend her!

We had a great experience with Josephine Butler Parks Center as our venue. The space is beautiful and the price is hard to beat in the area. We were getting compliments on the venue all night at the wedding! The only thing we did not love is that it is not completely accessible, as there is no elevator. We were told there is plans for an elevator, but not sure when that will be.

Growing up in rural Virginia my intro to photography came to me at 14 while breaking into abandoned houses with friends to take photos that can only be describe in retrospection as “experimental”. Fast forward a handful of years and I found myself going 'legit' and holding a BFA in photography, later finding yet more perspective and cutting my teeth shooting society events in NYC. Having now spent more years of my life taking photos than not, it’s safe to say that I’m all in.

When all of our wedding plans fell through because of COVID-19, we opted for a socially-distant micro wedding at a park. We somehow made it happen with just over 48hrs to plan! We knew we wanted a photographer to help us capture our special day, even if it didn't have all the bells and whistles, and were so lucky to have found Cassidy on such short notice. He was such a pleasure to work with. He was incredibly flexible (we changed our venue the night before the wedding) and very communicative. To top it off, our photos turned out so beautiful and made our adhoc wedding seem a bit more romantic and put together. He captured laughter and love! We loved his work and will recommend him to friends.

With its stunning columns and classic styling, over 10,000 square feet of indoor space, and a gorgeous balcony with impressive views of the city, the Andrew Mellon Auditorium is a premier location for conferences, galas and receptions. The venue fee is $22,275 for under 599 guests, and $22,800 for 600-1000 guests, and that includes the building rental and support costs, as well as off-site scanning of your vendor vehicles, security for your load in/out and one set of front doors for guest entrance. When hosting at the Mellon, you will need to work with one of our approved vendors to supply all of your event needs (catering, rentals, décor, valet, ect.).

Warm and Beautiful Photos by an Incredible Photographer UPDATE (6/2/21): Olga continues to be incredible and everything we could have ever dreamed of in a wedding photographer. She also took care of finding us a second photographer (Marcus), a videographer (Glenn), and a live stream assistant (Matt) - all of whom were wonderful, professional, kind, and talented. We were able to do first look/couple photos around the Library of Congress and Supreme Court with Olga, Marcus, and Glenn and all three made it a fun and easy-going experience that resulted in truly stunning photos. After the wedding (and the "engagement shoot") Olga sent us a "sneak peak" of the photos within just a few days! We are so grateful we found her and could not recommend her and her team enough!!! ORIGINAL (7/12/20): Olga is AMAZING. We hired her for our wedding several months after we got engaged and were not intending to do an engagement shoot (my fiance does not love pictures haha). But after COVID forced us to postpone our wedding by 11 months, we decided that an engagement-style photo shoot on our would-be wedding date would be a great way to make a sweet memory on a tough date. Olga was sweet, supportive, and flexible as we figured out details for a new date and added the extra photo session. She is down to earth and made both of us feel immediately at ease during the session. She was as excited as we were to get gorgeous photos at the Lincoln and then silly ones at GW (where we both graduated from). I have always believed that engagement/wedding photos should radiate warmth and happiness and Olga has blown us away with her ability to capture our love in photos in a way that can't help but make you smile.

We decided on the Tower Club to hold our 40th wedding anniversary party at and it exceeded our expectations! The venue was very impressive with amazing views on all sides of the Washington DC metro area. Our guests enjoyed being able to spend the cocktail hour either inside or on the outdoor wrap-around terrace on the 17th floor. The drinks were varied (including cocktails like mojitos) and the food was perfectly done and delicious. The space allowed our guests to transition easily between the dining room to the vestibule which contained the bar and dance floor. The evening went off without a hitch and our guests stayed till closing as they were having such a good time. Of particular note was our event executive, Ms. Lindsay Rhoades. She was very welcoming and easy to talk with, listening carefully to our vision of the event and making appropriate suggestions. It was her wonderful personality that initially impressed us. During the process leading up to the event, Lindsay was always on top of the preparations, was able to answer all our questions and make requested adjustments to our plans for the event. We are very glad we chose the Tower Club for our event and would put them first on our list for any future events or parties.

I highly recommend Artistry by Marquita! My wedding makeup, created by Marquita, was absolutely beautiful but didn't turn me into someone unrecognizable. During the trial run, the hair stylist, Mona, took my vague description of "Game of Thrones but maybe a bit Jane Austen?" and gave me a gorgeous braided updo. On the wedding day, Marquita and Mona arrived on time and finished hair and makeup for me and the ladies in our wedding party (who also looked fabulous) with time to spare. They were kind, responsive, and collaborative throughout. It was great to work with both of them and I recommend them wholeheartedly.

When I was looking for a hair and makeup artist, I wanted someone who I felt confident could help me decide the look for my wedding and come up with options for my naturally curly hair. However, I knew the deciding factor would be whether I felt confident that the artist could make every member of my bridal party that was diverse (in terms of race, disability, and LGBTQ) bridal party look and feel beautiful. Carla's portfolio showed me that she really lives her values of inclusion and I booked her with full confidence after our phone consultation the day after my inquiry. She gave me different options for the schedule for either just her or her and a team. I ended up going with the option of her and her team to not start so early and have a more efficient schedule. I was right to place my trust in her and the team she works with! I did a trial a couple weeks before my wedding, which I cannot recommend highly enough. It was definitely one of the most fun experiences of the entire wedding planning process! Carla spent a few hours with me trying different looks based on my inspiration photos and the vibe of my dress. I left so excited and knowing I had options I liked based on how I was feeling and the weather. On my wedding day she and her team were fantastic and executed flawlessly and made everyone comfortable on what was a hectic morning. My mother hadn't worn makeup since her wedding almost 40 years ago. My sister and maid of honor is also autistic with intellectual disabilities and had never worn makeup but wanted to be included (and look like a princess!) Carla and her team (special shoutout to makeup artist Mong!) were so patient and understanding and put them both at ease, which I appreciated so much. My other bridesmaids had a wonderful experience with makeup artist Nas as well. In terms of myself, I can say without question I've never felt more beautiful and glamorous but still myself than I did on my wedding day. Carla came with us to the church and fixed my veil that blew off during my first look and touched up everyone before we walked down the aisle. The look stayed the whole day and my hair held through the dip in our first dance into the after party. Going with Carla for hair and makeup was easily one of the best decisions I made in wedding planning and I cannot recommend her highly enough!

Asa is an absolutely amazing photographer to work with. My husband and I booked him for our wedding back in 2017, and we loved our photos so much that I invited him to be a preferred partner at a new event venue I helped open in 2019. He does wonderful work with lighting in particular. As a bride, he made us feel very natural, and we had a lot of fun with our photo session. Words cannot define the worth and joy it was to have Kawania and her team be a part of my wedding day. She was a constant advocate for our needs and budget throughout the process, being realistic at every turn. What I know now is that what you get with Kawania is experience and know-how of the industry. She has planned several weddings and events before and knows how to troubleshoot mishaps that may happen on the wedding day in real time. She understands that the day of the event is a special moment for everyone involved and she knows not to bring stress to the wedding party and to allow them to live in the moment. At subsequent weddings, I have felt that my friends needed this approach with their planners on their wedding day/weekend. I, being their guest or in their bridal party felt the disorganization that their planners or self-planning brought. This was not the case with Kawania. We had glowing comments about our wedding day for even a year after and how it was not just a ceremony but a day of entertainment. She is an excellent communicator. We had regular meetings throughout the year, about once a week. I have seen my friends have wedding planners who do not get back to them for several days after they have a question about their wedding. Kawania brought my vendors to me instead of me having to look for vendors on my own and when one did not work she always had another one that could take the place. She set up meetings with me and my vendors one-on-one and reviewed all of our vendor contracts to make sure that we were getting a fair contract and that expectations for the vendor and for us were both reasonable and what we were looking for. Being a very busy working professional I appreciated that Kawania went above and beyond to make sure that I stayed on the schedule and was extremely patient when there were moments when I could not. I value how she brought my vision to life and had such great attention to small details that my day was exceptional. I have seen my guests feature elements of my wedding at their subsequent events and it speaks to how she was able to set the bar high for what a classy and unique event should be. Far beyond a wedding planner, she has become someone that I keep in contact with after the wedding. She even checked in on me when there was a major catastrophic event that took place in the area where I lived months after the wedding. There were even moments when I became uncertain or stressed and focused on the wrong thing when it came to my wedding. Kawania, quite like a mother figure helped me realize what my focus should be and to ignore all other distractions so that when I walked down the aisle, I was in full confidence of how the day was going to be and did not feel a single ounce of stress on my wedding day. I could not be more thrilled to work with Kawania again. Although I do not see myself getting remarried I would certainly work with her for any big event I needed in the future. She has such a positive energy and global about her and brings a light to every interaction even difficult ones that makes her pleasant, respectable, dependable, and all around the absolute reason why my big day went off such success. I cannot state how tirelessly she and her team worked so when I did meet them in person but felt like I was meeting friends who knew exactly what I wanted.
