We found "Mark Joven Photography" through my fiancé who worked with him before during group trips with his friends. I really liked the photos he took we booked him for our engagement photos and he did NOT disappoint at ALL! He brought two assists with him and spent 2 days taking photos for us at multiple locations of our choosing! Mark was very professional and made each day go by seamlessly! We hung out like old friends and made a day of Magic Kingdom after taking our photos at our favorite places in the park! We got all our shots back within a week of taking them and they were all so beautiful I cried! They are some of the best pictures I’ve ever had! We decided to hire him for our wedding as a videographer and backup photographer should we need him! Also his prices are SUPER reasonable and affordable! If you’re looking to book him I wouldn’t hesitate! I’m pretty sure we’re gonna use him for future milestones! Mark is definitely a 10/10 and as a former photographer myself I am VERY picky when it comes to my photography so I can say I don’t say 10/10 unless i truly mean it!!

Even to the point I was able to walk down the aisle and the manger on site from simply fresh that day noticed my pocket of my wedding dress was sticking out so I was able to fix it before going down the aisle, so glad she told me because my pocket sticking out in all the photos of a once in a lifetime moment would have really not been great! They have incredible communication from before you book, after you book the tasting and just being flexible for meeting and walk through! The food was incredible (like seriously INCREDIBLE) and they ensured EVER single detail was exactly as I dreamed! I really am so happy I booked with simply fresh and would over and over 100 times again!!! If your unsure about to to book with for catering stop looking now and book simply fresh I’m the most sure you will not regret it! Wish we had some pictures of the food. All of the food was plated beautifully! Even our salad had eatable flowers! (I mean come on) and I really just could not have asked for anything more from simply fresh! For our cocktail hour we did crab cakes, stuffed mushrooms and bruschetta! For dinner we did a garden salad, a chicken option, a steak option and a veggie option they were all to die for! Like seriously people are still talking about how amazing the food was and our wedding was over a month ago.

Kelton from Marquee Artists is awesome - he killed it dj-ing for the clients, the dance floor was non-stop going nuts the whole time! His demeanor is super low-key and easy going, and he was very easy to work with, which means a lot in this field. Weddings have lots of moving parts and can be chaotic, but having vendors that are kind and willing to work as a team makes the day go a whole lot smoother. The couple had lots of requests for songs in completely different genres, but he managed to keep the party going with no awkward pauses and seamless transitions. I highly recommend hiring him if you want someone that's going to work well with everyone and make sure to light the dance floor on fire!

I cannot recommend Christy and her team enough. She was communicative, receptive and accommodating from the start. I wound up changing my look twice and she could not have been nicer about it. We had the most beautiful wedding here in September. The center was perfect for our ceremony and reception, where we had 90 guests. From first providing a tour of the venue to answering random questions in the months after, Katrina and Ashleigh were extremely helpful and we appreciated their flexibility. The venue provides chairs and tables, which was very helpful planning-wise. One note: There are a lot of stairs and there is no elevator, so this may not be the space for you if you need more accessibility. We received many compliments about the inherent beauty of the space, and we loved that it had separate spaces. On the first floor, we had a board game room, bar and photo booth room setup, as well as our guest book. On the second floor, we had another bar on the terrace, the food room for a dinner buffet and dessert afterward, and the main ceremony/reception ballroom. If we had to do it again, we'd do it at Josephine Butler in a heartbeat.

Growing up in rural Virginia my intro to photography came to me at 14 while breaking into abandoned houses with friends to take photos that can only be describe in retrospection as “experimental”. Fast forward a handful of years and I found myself going 'legit' and holding a BFA in photography, later finding yet more perspective and cutting my teeth shooting society events in NYC. Having now spent more years of my life taking photos than not, it’s safe to say that I’m all in.

When all of our wedding plans fell through because of COVID-19, we opted for a socially-distant micro wedding at a park. We somehow made it happen with just over 48hrs to plan! We knew we wanted a photographer to help us capture our special day, even if it didn't have all the bells and whistles, and were so lucky to have found Cassidy on such short notice. He was such a pleasure to work with. He was incredibly flexible (we changed our venue the night before the wedding) and very communicative. To top it off, our photos turned out so beautiful and made our adhoc wedding seem a bit more romantic and put together. He captured laughter and love! We loved his work and will recommend him to friends.

We had our son’s Wedding Reception in Andrew Mellon Auditorium in September, 2019. When we wanted to look at the venue, we contacted Jaime Ward of Event Emissary, who manages the venue, and she was so professional and helpful. She kindly agreed to be the event coordinator for our son’s Wedding Reception. We couldn’t have asked for a better venue! Having looked at a few hotel ballrooms, when we first looked at the Andrew Mellon Auditorium, we were awestruck! Even the pretty photos we had seen didn’t prepare us to visualize how magnificent it is! This venue is just magical. Not only are the inside of the venue, the exquisite foyers, and the great hall, also, the surroundings - a photographers’ dream. During the months leading up to the Reception, we were in contact with Jaime. She always answered our e-mails promptly and patiently answered our countless questions about logistics and such. Jaime’s supreme organizational skills took the stress out of everything! 0ur 450 plus guests were raving as to what a beautiful setting Andrew Mellon is. They were also all praise for the event itself – how thoughtfully organized and coordinated. Jaime was just brilliant at handling every aspect of the event, took care of every detail. Our son and daughter-in-law loved every second of their special event. It was so gratifying to see it all come together so beautifully on the day of the Reception. Our heartfelt and sincere thanks to Jaime for helping to make the wedding reception – the one to remember for our lifetime! Our advice to any bride and groom considering this venue – just do it and you will love it! Jaime and staff will go over and above to make sure your dream day will be a memorable one!

We decided on the Tower Club to hold our 40th wedding anniversary party at and it exceeded our expectations! The venue was very impressive with amazing views on all sides of the Washington DC metro area. Our guests enjoyed being able to spend the cocktail hour either inside or on the outdoor wrap-around terrace on the 17th floor. The drinks were varied (including cocktails like mojitos) and the food was perfectly done and delicious. The space allowed our guests to transition easily between the dining room to the vestibule which contained the bar and dance floor. The evening went off without a hitch and our guests stayed till closing as they were having such a good time. Of particular note was our event executive, Ms. Lindsay Rhoades. She was very welcoming and easy to talk with, listening carefully to our vision of the event and making appropriate suggestions. It was her wonderful personality that initially impressed us. During the process leading up to the event, Lindsay was always on top of the preparations, was able to answer all our questions and make requested adjustments to our plans for the event. We are very glad we chose the Tower Club for our event and would put them first on our list for any future events or parties.

I was born and raised in a quiet seaside town on the South Shore of Long Island. I grew up in a place where good, strong love grows with parents who have been together since they were 16 years old. They taught me that true love grows in the face of hardship and, as strong believers in their faith, that love is, indeed, patient and kind. And so as soon as I realized that wedding photography didn’t have to be posed and mechanical; that I could shoot weddings from a more organic and authentic lens; that I could document a story, not direct one, I was hooked!

Having a good photographer was one of my priorities for my wedding. I knew the day was going to be a whirlwind and I wanted to be able to look back and at least have one photo where my eyes weren’t closed or something. Lauren absolutely delivered — I don’t think we’ve ever looked as good in pictures and I know I probably won’t again!! Lauren also recommended Elizabeth for our day-of coordinator and I don’t know what we would have done without her — I definitely would have lost my mind, of that I’m sure. First, I can’t overstate the importance of finding a photographer with whom you have a good rapport — Lauren has this charisma where you instantly feel at ease and like you’ve known her your whole life. It frankly made me less nervous and I think that translates really well in the photos. She’s also a master of making you look the best in posed photos - giving little positioning directions that you look elegant without looking stiff. Every time I look at the pictures I’ll notice another candid moment that Lauren managed to capture or simply marvel at how she somehow can translate emotion in a still picture — I find myself smiling and definitely not crying (jk definitely crying) because you can FEEL what we were feeling in these photos. Second, get you a planner who is superhuman. Elizabeth took over six weeks (!) before the wedding and it was like a literal weight was lifted from my shoulders. At our first meeting she went through her checklist (and mine bc of course I had my own) and said “I’ll take care of it” to literally everything... and then...did?? I was fully prepared to have to follow up with vendors and micromanage but I basically didn’t have to do anything. It was magical. Elizabeth and her team did so much work and went above and beyond in literally every way to ensure we had a perfect day. Anyway, if you’re struggling with choosing a photographer because there are 72525 million to choose from, and you like the style of Lauren’s photos, go for it ASAP. Lauren is incredible and I feel so lucky that we were able to work with her. And if you need a day-of coordinator (or a full blown wedding planner!) pick Elizabeth - she has the eye for design and the capability to pull it off and pull it off well!

Asa is an absolutely amazing photographer to work with. My husband and I booked him for our wedding back in 2017, and we loved our photos so much that I invited him to be a preferred partner at a new event venue I helped open in 2019. He does wonderful work with lighting in particular. As a bride, he made us feel very natural, and we had a lot of fun with our photo session. When I was looking for a hair and makeup artist, I wanted someone who I felt confident could help me decide the look for my wedding and come up with options for my naturally curly hair. However, I knew the deciding factor would be whether I felt confident that the artist could make every member of my bridal party that was diverse (in terms of race, disability, and LGBTQ) bridal party look and feel beautiful. Carla's portfolio showed me that she really lives her values of inclusion and I booked her with full confidence after our phone consultation the day after my inquiry. She gave me different options for the schedule for either just her or her and a team. I ended up going with the option of her and her team to not start so early and have a more efficient schedule. I was right to place my trust in her and the team she works with! I did a trial a couple weeks before my wedding, which I cannot recommend highly enough. It was definitely one of the most fun experiences of the entire wedding planning process! Carla spent a few hours with me trying different looks based on my inspiration photos and the vibe of my dress. I left so excited and knowing I had options I liked based on how I was feeling and the weather. On my wedding day she and her team were fantastic and executed flawlessly and made everyone comfortable on what was a hectic morning. My mother hadn't worn makeup since her wedding almost 40 years ago. My sister and maid of honor is also autistic with intellectual disabilities and had never worn makeup but wanted to be included (and look like a princess!) Carla and her team (special shoutout to makeup artist Mong!) were so patient and understanding and put them both at ease, which I appreciated so much. My other bridesmaids had a wonderful experience with makeup artist Nas as well. In terms of myself, I can say without question I've never felt more beautiful and glamorous but still myself than I did on my wedding day. Carla came with us to the church and fixed my veil that blew off during my first look and touched up everyone before we walked down the aisle. The look stayed the whole day and my hair held through the dip in our first dance into the after party. Going with Carla for hair and makeup was easily one of the best decisions I made in wedding planning and I cannot recommend her highly enough!

Words cannot define the worth and joy it was to have Kawania and her team be a part of my wedding day. She was a constant advocate for our needs and budget throughout the process, being realistic at every turn. What I know now is that what you get with Kawania is experience and know-how of the industry. She has planned several weddings and events before and knows how to troubleshoot mishaps that may happen on the wedding day in real time. She understands that the day of the event is a special moment for everyone involved and she knows not to bring stress to the wedding party and to allow them to live in the moment. At subsequent weddings, I have felt that my friends needed this approach with their planners on their wedding day/weekend. I, being their guest or in their bridal party felt the disorganization that their planners or self-planning brought. This was not the case with Kawania. We had glowing comments about our wedding day for even a year after and how it was not just a ceremony but a day of entertainment. She is an excellent communicator. We had regular meetings throughout the year, about once a week. I have seen my friends have wedding planners who do not get back to them for several days after they have a question about their wedding. Kawania brought my vendors to me instead of me having to look for vendors on my own and when one did not work she always had another one that could take the place. She set up meetings with me and my vendors one-on-one and reviewed all of our vendor contracts to make sure that we were getting a fair contract and that expectations for the vendor and for us were both reasonable and what we were looking for. Being a very busy working professional I appreciated that Kawania went above and beyond to make sure that I stayed on the schedule and was extremely patient when there were moments when I could not. I value how she brought my vision to life and had such great attention to small details that my day was exceptional. I have seen my guests feature elements of my wedding at their subsequent events and it speaks to how she was able to set the bar high for what a classy and unique event should be. Far beyond a wedding planner, she has become someone that I keep in contact with after the wedding. She even checked in on me when there was a major catastrophic event that took place in the area where I lived months after the wedding. There were even moments when I became uncertain or stressed and focused on the wrong thing when it came to my wedding. Kawania, quite like a mother figure helped me realize what my focus should be and to ignore all other distractions so that when I walked down the aisle, I was in full confidence of how the day was going to be and did not feel a single ounce of stress on my wedding day. I could not be more thrilled to work with Kawania again. Although I do not see myself getting remarried I would certainly work with her for any big event I needed in the future. She has such a positive energy and global about her and brings a light to every interaction even difficult ones that makes her pleasant, respectable, dependable, and all around the absolute reason why my big day went off such success. I cannot state how tirelessly she and her team worked so when I did meet them in person but felt like I was meeting friends who knew exactly what I wanted. When it came time to plan our own wedding, we weren’t completely sold on the idea of a wedding planner, but our friends told us how we should consider it because of their experience with Create You Events. For them, Vicky and her team were able to assist with a lot of the burden of wedding planning and coordination and said their help was definitely worth the added cost. We remembered the positive first impression we had when we saw them in action at our friend's wedding and decided to have an introductory call. Vicky and her team were very flexible on the services and packages to meet our specific needs. We ultimately decided to have them help us with planning, design/decorations, and day of coordination. For planning, Vicky and the team showed their expertise in the wedding industry. For us, we weren’t as familiar with all the terminology and customs for weddings and Vicky was able to guide us through everything from the best way to talk to vendors and what to look for when touring our venue. She helped keep us on schedule in terms of what work needed to be done throughout the months leading up to the wedding date, and was great at motivating us throughout the process. She and her team stayed up late through the night to do planning calls with us, and were always available and responsive for any questions we had. The team members were so patient and understanding, and great sounding boards for every detailed decision, no matter how small. When my wife had minor decision fatigue melt-downs over whether or not to pay extra for chargers and colorful linens, or which exact flowers to include in the bouquets, Vicky and her team were there to talk through our thought process and help us get to a decision we felt comfortable with. We also had the Create You Events team help us with designing our wedding invites, menus, programs, and signage, which all came out beautifully. They really understood what we were looking for in terms of colors and styles and were able to just take some sample Pinterest pictures to be able to make amazing designs for us. As for the wedding day itself, we ran into many logistical issues with our venue and the (lack of) venue staff. Vicky and her team really stepped up to fill in multiple roles last minute, and make sure everything went smoothly for us. There were so many issues that we didn't even know about, and the Create You team handled them seamlessly. Looking back, we’re so glad we decided to spend the money to have the Create You Events team help us for our wedding. If you’re thinking about having a team help you out for an event, we highly recommend hiring Vicky and her team. Their support and guidance during our wedding planning process and during the wedding day itself were really indispensable.

Katy did an absolutely incredible job with our wedding florals. We provided her a few inspiration pictures of the look that we were going for and she took it from there and designed the arrangements to perfection. Katy was very flexible and easy to work with, even when we made some super last minute changes (to include the boutonnieres, which we had completely forgotten about until days before the wedding). On the wedding day, Katy stuck around hours after setting up the arrangements to make sure everything was perfect when our vendors flipped the room from the ceremony to reception.
