I recently had the pleasure of coordinating a wedding at Lake Fungs Barn in Prince George, VA, and I must say, it was an unforgettable experience! The venue perfectly combines rustic elegance with natural beauty, creating a dream-like setting for couples who want a barn-style wedding with a stunning lakeside view. The moment you drive up to the property, you are greeted by beautiful views of the serence lake, which sets the stage for a romantic celebration. The barn itself is a masterpiece - charming yet modern, with high ceilings, plenty of windows and space for both the ceremony and the reception, The outdoor ceremony area, right by the lake, made for a picturesque backdrop that looked incredible in photos. The staf at Lake Fungs Barn were professional and attentive, ensuring every detail of the wedding ran smoothly. She seriously made that happen! I'm the planner of the family and I don't remember ever being able to just go to an event and enjoy it. I truly got to enjoy the best day of my life and I have Kaleigh to thank for that! If you’re looking for a venue to host a smaller wedding under 100 people, then this is the PERFECT venue for you! We even jumped into the pool at the end of our bubble exit! It was a magical night!

Amazing. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a great space, great food, and great service! The food was absolutely amazing from the sandwiches we had for getting ready to the dinner. We decided to go with the casual food experience and 10/10 recommend that! They had plenty of options to choose from and we were able to incorporate some of our favorite food. There’s absolutely nothing negative that I could say about this venue. Evan and his team did a fantastic job and I can’t thank them enough.

From the first time I reached out to Jill through the day of our wedding on September 2, 2018 our experience working with Harding's exceeded all of our expectations. My husband and I looked at many venues in Manhattan, Brooklyn and Westchester and Harding's was the clear stand out. It's a beautiful space with lots of character that can stand on its own or be enhanced, located in a wonderful neighborhood, and is reasonably priced for the excellent level of service and high quality of food they offer. However, what impressed us most was how Ken, Jill and their staff always approached us with humanity, never pressured us, and were always transparent. Their communication was top notch and Jill was always prompt to respond to any questions or requests we had over the 10 months of planning. They accommodated how frequently we stopped by to look at the space (sometimes with other vendors) and made a dessert for me that was not on their standard menu. They felt like partners through the whole process and we were so grateful to host our 75 person cocktail-style wedding/reception with them! In addition to the planning process going seamlessly, I have to shout out Ken for his professionalism and quick thinking when there was an electrical issue on the day of our wedding. A power outage on their block a few days before had effected their freight elevator, which is how wedding parties usually enter Harding's prior to the ceremony and/or reception so they aren't seen by their guests. That day the elevator felt like an oven in the summer heat. It was not an option to wait there for 30 minutes, sweat dripping off of us, until the procession started. Ken jumped into action when he saw how uncomfortable the situation was for me (I was already nervous!) and arranged for the wedding party to relax in a private, air conditioned space nearby until it was time for the ceremony to begin. Total relief and crisis averted! Ken was also a wonderful Day of Coordinator and made sure that the deliveries came off perfectly. The service our guests enjoyed on the day was top notch and the food and drinks were excellent. Seriously, the food is spectacular and we got many compliments from our guests on how good it was! Tommy was wonderful from start to finish, and the server that was taking care of my husband and me that night was so sweet. She checked up on us (and never in an intrusive way) to make sure we had food, water, drinks, etc and could enjoy the evening to the fullest. It was a beautiful day with so much joy in large part to Harding's and their exceptional staff!

We found this gem on a Google search. When Jana met us at the door for our first view we could feel the vintage atmosphere so cozy and welcoming. From the bridal suite to the dining area to the front porch we knew this place would be perfect for our small intimate wedding. 5 stars and beautiful memories.

Had such an amazing wedding weekend at Walnut Hill. Essie and Mike were great hosts - Super communicative and accommodating. The venue itself is absolutely beautiful - We got so many compliments from our guests. From the charming and comfortable farmhouse, to the picture-perfect ceremony grove with it's stunning tree canopy, we couldn't have imagined a more beautiful setting to say our I-do's. The barn was excellent for after dinner dancing the night away. I wouldn't have changed a single thing.

Since our first steps inside Mill 1, I personally fell in love & immediately knew that this would be our place. The rustic, industrial charm speaks for itself! Fast forward through planning, everything was made pretty easy, questions were always answered promptly, & communication was always clear. It was made known from day one that, if I wanted it - I would have it! And believe me Adrianna and Will made sure that was the case through it all. Day of setting up, I didn't even have to lift a finger & everything looked more perfect than I could have ever imagined. Mill 4 ceremony space, decorated equally as beautiful & a ceremony made so seamless thanks to Adrianna & wills guidance! And reception - I couldn't have asked for a better party! Food by Seth Mias was delicious! Drinks by bar staff were absolutely PERFECT. Adrianna and Will were always a step away to help with whatever we needed, even down to being a bouncer for unwelcome guests! I am grateful we chose mill 1 and will continue to choose mill 1 for any upcoming events we might host! It was such a pleasure planning, working & partying with them! Thank you again Adrianna & Will!

Where to even begin with our review of the Evergreen and the amazing team that truly made our wedding dreams come true. My husband and I knew we wanted a true to Portland rainy day romantic wedding. The Evergreen brought to life every detail of our vision and was honestly everything we imagined and then some. From the incredible balcony and staircase, to the hardwood floors and the exposed brick, and the perfect Portland bar “Loyal Legion” for cocktail hour, the space is perfection and offered endless possibilities. The hard thing about endless possibilities is bringing them to life- and YVONNE helped us every step of the way. Outside of answering every email so quickly- Yvonne never offered anything less than thorough answers, amazing support to our vision, and endless incredible ideas and options- she really made planning our wedding FUN. I’ve noticed in the wedding industry when you share your vision it becomes set in stone and your team goes to execute it and that is that. Yvonne was patient through every hypothetical question and possible change- and truly made us feel like the space and the day was our oyster and she was willing to help us make it whatever our hearts desired. Our wedding couldn’t have gone any more perfect and we truly owe this to the evergreen- and Yvonne who guided the day perfectly. I am a planner through and through- and Yvonne couldn’t have been more of a saving grace and sounding light on our wedding day. She had every detail and minute planned to a tee- and kept our very rowdy group on schedule (no easy task). Ever After Farms Citrus was the perfect venue for our wedding day. The communication from the staff was amazing - attentive, descriptive, and kept me feeling calm and prepared, especially when we were figuring out backup plans for potential rain. The modern barn has a beautiful spacious layout with indoor and outdoor areas that created the perfect backdrop. I loved working with the decorator who helped with all the little details - she had long black hair and such a sweet demeanor. Another standout was Desiree who helped ensure everything ran smoothly. At one point when I forgot my bouquet, someone raced to grab it so I didn't walk down the aisle empty handed! It's clear this team truly cares. Between the gorgeous venue and thoughtful staff, Ever After Farms Citrus really contributed to making our wedding day special.

I could not have envisioned a more perfect place for our wedding reception than Stonebridge. This is a stunning venue! We had our reception at Stonebridge on Friday, 5/31/24. Kim helped us coordinate everything from the beginning and made everything so easy. Stonebridge is great because it includes catering, lots of decor, and ceremony too, though we had our ceremony elsewhere. Having catering through the venue made it that much easier because we didn't have to look for another vendor for this. The outdoor cocktail hour space was beautiful and perfect. Having the outdoor tiki bar in addition to the indoor bar helped move the line along. We had buffet style dinner, and we got so many compliments on our food. The garlic mashed potatoes and bronzed salmon with capers were the clear winners, but everything was so good. The event managers of the day, Sarah and Hannah, were amazing. They checked in on my husband and I frequently to make sure we always had what we needed, and brought us so much peace of mind! If anything went wrong, I don't know about it, because they along with Kim ensured that everything was taken care of. All decorations supplied by Stonebridge were set up and taken down for us at no extra cost, but we also opted to pay a little extra to have Stonebridge's staff clean up the decorations that we brought, which eased a lot of the burden on our families. This was 100% worth every penny. Everything got cleaned up that night and they took great care of our things so nothing was damaged. They also assisted in setting up our donut table shown in one of the attached photos! Pictures don't do this beautiful place justice but hopefully you can get an idea :)

I cannot say enough good things about this venue. The place is absolutely stunning. It is a beautiful venue space surrounded by mountain views with the perfect backdrop of grandfather mountain as you say “I do”. Inside the lighting and ceilings were a sight in itself. From day one the staff has been amazing. The Venue Manager, Pam, was easily accessible and prepared to answer any question that I had. She was ready to accommodate whatever I needed and even made the time to let me view my table layout in person because I needed the visual to see if our game-plan could work. The venue coordinator, Gracie, is an absolute doll and just as sweet to work with. I wish I could get married all the time, just so I can visit them at the venue!

We did not use The Knott to find this venue but we had such an amazing experience we had to share. The venue itself, the first thing you see is a modern foodhall / full bar with a large variety of restaurants. If youre staying at the hotel connected, it was such a great place to hangout with your bridal parties before everything starts. Moving along to the even areas, the ceremony room gives off a modern barn yard style venue and it's such a pleasant contrast from what you initially see when first walking in which really adds to the "wow" factor when entering the room. The cocktail hour area is amazing as well and after we gifted some of our items, they will now have Cornhole and a beer cart available! The area itself is wide open with great seating areas as well. The reception is another instance where the contrast is such a difference from the food hall downstairs, it once again adds so much to that jsw drop reaction. We were approached multiple times complementing how "cool" this venue was and it was definitely a true compliment. Now the venue wouldn't be anywhere with out the staff and I can not say enough great things about them. The entire time was courteous, professional and really give they sense that they want to make sure you have your special day as one to remember. Specifically wanted to shout out our amazing coordinator - Brianna, banquet captain - Lee j and Dj - Rhy's. These three went above and beyond for us and it seemed like that was just their normal demeanor. Brianna made sure we had nothing to worry about and made every part of the planning process a breeze. Lee J was also always checking in appropriately often to ensure we were never left wanting, thirsty or hungry. Rhy's was also great to work with, we had a very specific request with music which ended up having my wife and I take part in a lightsaber fight to two different versions of starwars music - Duel of the Fates, and he handled it masterfully. All in all, 10/10 can not recommend enough.

The initial Livingston, New Jersey-based residence was built in the late 1800s by famed architect Stanford White, who was responsible for designing the Tiffany building on Fifth Avenue, the original Madison Square Garden complex among other landmark structures. We were introduced to Union Mills during the Frederick Wedding Expo, and we loved the look of the place. The look of the venue speaks for itself, the exposed brick and the killer chandeliers really encapsulated the vibe we wanted. Our vendors also appreciated the more practical set-up of the space for ease of use (lighting, access to power, entrances, etc.), showing the expertise with which the venue was designed. The space is also totally handicap accessible, from parking to ramps within the venue itself, which was necessary for some of our guests. We were planning the wedding on a short time frame, and Niko and Mary were incredibly flexible with our needs. Their background in hospitality showed, we always felt that our big day was just as important to them. They had connections to vendors in the area and helped us narrow down who would be best for our needs. We were worried about the menu and bar package given our group had some pretty varied dietary restrictions, but their options were totally customizable all in-house, our guests had plenty of great choices. All of the staff were friendly and professional, the day ran smoothly from setting up the ceremony, serving drinks, flipping the room for the reception, and serving dinner. We highly recommend Union Mills as an event space and are appreciative to Niko and Mary for helping us!

The Red Lion Inn is first class. We booked our wedding about 8 months out for just shy of 200 people. We were immediately assigned Krystel to work with who managed everything!! After I sourced our vendors, Krystel took on communication with them of when they were arriving, what they needed, etc. Krsytel was there to answer any questions we have and make our day special to us. We upgraded the tables as I did not want linens on the tables and Krystel worked to ensure the flow the room remained amazing. We had a 9 piece band that was perfectly situated and taken care of. The day of Tufick was THE MAN. He kept everything moving smoothly, we couldn’t have been worried or concerned about a thing. The food was incredible, the after party was a blast and we have memories for a life time

Communication on coordination was a bit spotty at times, but the maître d', Sergio, was a god send and stepped in to ensure things flowed smoothly. The food was phenomenal, as well! So many of our guests shared it was the best wedding food they’d ever had. We did have both our bridal attendants provided by the venue disappear on us shortly after we arrived, which was inconvenient since we would have paid for our own attendants if we knew that would be the case. While parts of the indoor space is dated, it worked out beautifully with some creative decor. When weighing everything in, the Woodwinds was a spectacular venue!

We had the most flawless, amazing, magical event with Live Wire. From the day we first inquired to our follow-up emails, the staff at Live Wire was amazing. We hosted a sorority graduation event for 40 families with 200 people gathered for both dining and live music. Even though Live Wire does not provide food, they do allow catering and were super helpful, coordinating with Saucehouse to make dinner fabulous. The space itself is cool, roomy and has both inside and outside areas that worked perfectly for our dining needs and live music. The staff was amazing. They made sure the band and tech were all covered and made the transition from dinner to dancing seamless. Erin and Erika were our contacts and they simply performed without fail. From our first inquiry to our final email, they were amazing. There were no hidden fees or surprise charges, and they have a digital platform for easy payment and communication. I can not say enough about this event space and the Live Wire staff. Thank you for making this night memorable. What a way to send these graduates off!

I photographed my first wedding at the Jerome last winter. It was such a unique space! I'd love to return!! The exposed brick and black accents were great inside the venue. I also thought the big windows at the front of the building gave good opportunities to get some indoor, natural light photos in the cold winter. The wedding party used an airbnb in town that was perfect for getting ready. I love when small businesses work together like that for a couple!

We held my daughters wedding at Pinstripes 10/21/2023. She was looking for something different & this fit the bill. The outdoor space is awesome. Unfortunately we couldn't use it due to Cleveland weather, but we had the ceremony in the banquet room & then during cocktail hour Pinstripes moved everything back to a banquet room easily. The food was very good & the staff very attentive. Our sales manager Lucy did a fabulous job as we were planning the wedding answering all my daughters questions & the day of the wedding she oversaw everything to make the day perfect. So many of our guests said this was the most fun they had at a wedding. Great Venue!

The Machine Shop was the only venue my wife and I looked at for our wedding. We have performed as string quartet musicians at a plethora of venues in the Twin Cities and beyond, and this was the first and only venue where as a vendor I looked at it and thought: "I could get married here." The biggest draws were: amazing indoor location, unique space, easy to find parking, close to home, and option for both ceremony and reception to be in the same space. Communication with the venue staff was quick, fast, and easy to understand our options. The select caterers and onsite only liquor selections were excellent and had a wide variety of tastes and options. We went with Brasa and 2 hosted signature cocktails during cocktail hour - the food and drink were such a hit and people could not stop saying how great Brasa was and the cocktails! We had so much fun on our wedding night and everything came together so well. We worked with Lauren from Machine Shop and she was amazing, we got to meet with her for a wine tasting with our families and she answered all of our many questions as well as helped us figure out our drink preferences. So many of our friends and family commented on how this was one of the most fun wedding venues they had been to and we couldn't agree more!

Paradise Cove offered a breathtaking backdrop for our wedding day, with panoramic views that were truly unforgettable. The food and drinks were exceptional, and their inclusive package made the planning process much easier. They were able to find top-notch vendors that perfectly complemented our vision. However, there were a few areas where we felt the experience could have been improved. We encountered some pushback on certain elements of our wedding, which was unexpected. Additionally, we wish we had been advised to limit our personal decorations in the beginning of the planning process as we had to then adjust our vision at the last second. While we appreciated the efficiency of having multiple weddings per day, it did feel like our wedding was just one of many. We longed for a more personalized experience that would have allowed us to truly make the day our own. Overall, Paradise Cove provided a beautiful setting for our wedding, but there were some aspects of the experience that left us wanting more. If you're considering this venue, be prepared to be flexible and communicate your vision clearly from the beginning.

Beautiful space and the staff is phenomenal! Our venue manager, Victoria M., was a dream to work with - she made everything a breeze! Our ceremony involved the transportation and set up of a large amount of personal items/furniture and Victoria found a way to make it happen in the time needed, even on a holiday weekend. She saved the day when the DJ showed up unprepared, and gracefully took charge of a stressful situation. She also helped document the day, which was a surprise to me and it was so lovely to receive her photos and videos the next day. The actual ceremony was a blur so it was truly a gift to be able to experience it through her eyes. This venue is an elegant and historic space, very affordable especially in today's economic climate, they were one of the only venues that was willing to let us do ceremony only as we had an offsite reception, and the staff is just fantastic! I highly recommend!

The Woman’s Club of Evanston was the perfect venue for our June wedding! After an extensive venue search, we were so excited to find the Woman’s Club. The venue checked every box we had - close enough to the city for us and our friends and close enough to the suburbs for our family. The venue is also located right between a reasonably-priced parking garage and a lovely Hilton, which accommodated anyone flying or driving into our celebration. Our vendors also raved about the ease of working in that space, from the vendor parking lot to loading areas to elevators. The venue manager, Gretchen, was the best! She is an excellent communicator and answered all our questions promptly, and was on top of all the tasks that needed to be completed. The BYOB policy of the venue also helped us save some money on our beverages. The list of preferred caterers was great and we found someone that was the perfect fit for our fusion wedding. The venue itself is so beautiful. As soon as I walked in, I knew it was just right for us. The first floor is so warm and welcoming, and was perfect for our photos and for the cocktail hour. The second floor ballroom is grand and had such a wow factor. We were able to keep our decorations to a minimum because the venue itself is gorgeous. The space has so much natural light. We used the gardens outside for our first look, which made for some lovely photos. There’s nowhere else I would rather have gotten married!

I have worked as a DJ at The Lake House many times and it is a one of kind venue. Beautiful private lake with views from all the windows. Paul, the caterer, is a catering maven and loves to be creative and unique with the food and the service. There is an intimacy to the place that makes you quickly feel like family. The fact that there is only one wedding at a time in the building adds to the sense that The Lake House is your private fantasy world for the day.

Highly recommended ! We are so over the moon happy that we were able to celebrate our rehearsal dinner at Osmica farm for a little over 100 guests. Can’t say enough wonderful things about our experience! Our families were so impressed by the natural, rustic and inviting feel of the farm! The owners, Allie and Kurt were truly a joy to work with! They were so responsive and helped us so beautifully plan every detail of our day! They helped us with our table decorations, beautiful flower arrangements and other rentals! The list of the vendors they provided were also so nice and responsive and easy to work with. They truly made our experience completely stress free! The farm has the most stunning sunset and lots of space indoors and outdoors for kids and adults to enjoy lawn games. And the most meaningful thing is that Allie and Kurt were so friendly and introduced themselves to our guests, everyone loved them. They were available and ready to help from the first to the last minute. We will definitely visit and stay at their beautiful bed and breakfast in the future.

Rule of Thirds is a restaurant and event venue that operates out of Brooklyn, New York. Situated in a vibrant, urban setting not far from McCarren Park, there is a chic, design-orientated, and industrial ambience to enjoy here. An ideal place to host your wedding celebration, you are sure to be enthralled by the high quality of space, food, drink, and service within the venue.

Where to even begin! First off, my wife and I had a fairly large wedding for NYC, roughly 200 people, so when we started to look at venues, we were so nervous about what we would find. Rule of Thids was actually the first venue we saw, and we were blown away by the space. If you’re renting out the full venue, you get access to the entire restaurant, plus the event space, as well as the outdoor area. It makes the flow of the wedding so nice, so everyone wasn’t crammed into one space as they were trying to flip it for the ceremony, dinner, and dancing. We were also able to rent out the photo studio attached to the sake shop to get ready in, so we were on-site all day, which was AMAZING. We could easily discuss things with our day-of coordinator, florist, etc., and the space was so large and had impeccable light (our makeup artist and hair stylist were super happy with it!). We chose to use the venue coordinator, Julie, as our day of coordinator, and we cannot say enough good things about her. She was incredibly responsive, super organized, and comes from the wedding industry, so she brought up things that we didn’t even think to consider for the day of that were so helpful. Beyond that, she was so pleasant to work with and just had an amazing, chill vibe that everyone wants from their coordinator on the wedding day. It was also amazing that she works at the venue, so she knew all the ins and outs of the space and could easily coordinate with our other vendors. She helped ensure the bridal party was in the right places at the right time, moved people from room to room when needed, and helped us stay on track with the flow of the wedding, which was perfect and so seamless. She and the ROT team set up the entire space exactly as we envisioned, and everything looked beautiful! The venue is honestly perfect for a wedding. We were able to use private dining spaces in the venue for a photobooth and coat closet, plenty of bathrooms (not something you think about until you go to a wedding with too few!), an amazing outdoor space for guests to cool down/get away from the noise, a huge dance floor area, spacious dining room, and so many bars for our guests to go to. The staff were all amazing, endlessly refilling drinks and food, and everyone was incredibly nice. Even after all of the amazing things above, the best part about Rule of Thirds is the food. From the cocktail hour to the dessert, this food is amazing and well beyond typical wedding standards. We had so many guests tell us how good everything was, and we were told this was the first wedding at the venue where every single canape and raw bar item was eaten, so our guests were very happy! (if you can, splurge on the raw bar because it was so good!!) After the ceremony, they set up a spot for us to sample all the canapes and raw bar items, which we were super thankful for since we would never have eaten anything otherwise. We also had a very specific request for a mazeman noodle dish we had eaten when we toured the space a year prior, and the chef and team made it happen for us, which was AMAZING and so incredibly delicious. If you’re looking for a wedding venue and considering Rule of Thirds, DO IT! We wish we could relive the day all over again because it was so amazing, and we will forever be hoping someone else we know gets married here so we can experience something similar again.

The venue sits on 40 acres, full of mature oaks and beautiful landscaping. The outdoor ceremony site is held under a 400+ year old oak tree, with branches cascading down and seating to accommodate 250 guests. Guests then move seamlessly to our cocktail hour patio and inside for the reception. Our venue boasts 25 foot ceilings, with gorgeous chandeliers to bring a classy touch. The groom’s room is the perfect man cave, with a built in bar, TV’s, and leather couches - yep, we thought of everything!

I can’t wait for my upcoming wedding here!! The people at the Twelve81 have been so nice and accommodating! The venue is beautiful and has so many amazing features!

How much do wedding & reception venues cost?

The cost of wedding venues varies, with factors influencing cost including size, location, guest count, and, most importantly, whether things like catering and rentals are included. The more a reception venue near you includes, the higher the cost. When considering venues, try to compare prices apples-to-apples. If one venue includes catering and rentals in their pricing and the other doesn’t, you need to figure out how much additional cost those outside vendors would be to make a true comparison. Before booking, be sure you’re aware of additional costs outlined in your contract, like parking fees and weather-related considerations (adding a tent, etc.).

What questions should we ask wedding venues?

When talking with a potential venue, always ask about 1) their availability and 2) their capacity. Some popular venues book up peak season Saturdays nearly 2 years in advance—if your first choice date isn’t available, consider your flexibility on day of the week and year. While maximum capacity is non-negotiable, venues might have guidance on what guest count will be most comfortable. Also, you’ll want to understand what is and is not included in the venue’s fees. Some include catering, tables and chairs, and linens, while others offer just the raw space. These venues are often less expensive because you are only paying for the space itself, and you’ll have to bring in outside vendors
