This is delightfully different elopement + wedding photography! From helicopter elopements and lakeside wedding bashes to hiking engagements to weddings with bouncy houses, I capture the adventurous, quirky, and unique. Based in both New York + California, with travel worldwide, I've photographed couples on 6 continents. My creative, fun, & candid photography uses innovative techniques and unique ideas to get photos that make you look twice. Whether you're saying vows in your backyard or having a 3-day adventure wedding in the rainforest, I'll catch every spontaneous moment of joy and laughter—and plan a few unique shots on top of it all.

We worked with Kathryn for our October 2024 Hindu/Jewish blended wedding and were so happy with our decision!! We spoke with MANY photographers during the planning process trying to decide who fit our style and personality leading up to our wedding. Neither of us feel super comfortable in front of the camera so it was important to us that we found someone who truly fit us and what we were looking for. Kathryn's warmth, adventurous spirit, and genuine curiosity about us as a couple really stood out, and we immediately knew she was who we wanted to work with. We had a large wedding with many Hindu/Jewish traditions making the day busy & hectic, but Kathryn's professionalism and calm attitude made us feel at ease. We really appreciated how on top of it she was, sticking to our timeline and facilitating our rather large (and rowdy!) group, all while making the staged photos seamless and the candids from the reception/baraat so special and a true representation our special day. The colors are just magnificent, and we had many guests compliment her work, fun nature, and professionalism throughout the night. Thank you Kathryn for making our day so wonderful!!

Hello! I’m the man behind the camera, capturing moments with deep passion for a couple of decades. What began as a simple hobby quickly grew into a mission to freeze time and immortalize your joyous occasions, candid moments, and raw emotions. My goal is to make my photos more than just images—they’re reflections of your most cherished moments, creating a deep connection between you and your memories. My work isn’t just a transaction; it’s about fostering a friendly, approachable environment where you feel comfortable and enjoy the process. I hope you come to love your photos as much as I love creating them.

Richard Krutick is special. A special talent as well as a special man. He captured it! The day after our wedding he sent me a teaser gallery of what was to come. I was blown away. When planning my wedding the photographer was the most critical to me -I was picky. When I saw his work he turned my entire way of looking at my wedding around. Richard and I had over an hour-long conversation and we clicked. I, having a creative director background and working with photographers all my career, was thrilled because we spoke the same language. I wanted honest, documentary-style moments captured without noticing the presence of the photographer. He was there when you needed him and you liked him. My guests were saying what a warm and great guy he is. He got their personalities, each and every one of them. He looks at everything with a special eye. Right at the time of my outdoor wedding with the most beautiful view and lush floral arbor, it poured and didn't stop. Gravel walkways turning into mud, no bride or groom wants to see. He just grabbed the moments and ran with them. Pivoting, he captured the most creative and editorial images I could ever dream of. He took the storm and made it beautiful. I hope I will have another event, moment, fun-filled party, or cherished time that he can again capture so we can work with him again.

WE'RE MARIA AND RICARDO, WE ARE HUSBAND AND WIFE AND THE HEART BEHIND THE PICTURES. WE ARE BASED IN NYC AND TAKE WEDDING COMISSIONS ALL AROUND THE US AND ABROAD BUT WE ARE ORIGINALLY FROM SPAIN AND PUERTO RICO MARIA IS YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER, ALL THE IMAGES ARE TAKEN AND EDITED BY HER. RICARDO IS YOUR VIDEOGRAPHER AND RUNS THE BUSINESS AND MAKES SURE EVERYTHING GOES AS IT SHOULD. THERE IS A LOT GOING ON BEHIND THE SCENES.OUR PHOTOGRAPHY IS BOLD & CREATIVE, AIMING TO TELL STORIES AND DOCUMENT THE REAL MOMENTS. WE ARE MORE THAN HAPPY TO SHOOT A FEW FORMALS AND WE ALWAYS LOOK FORWARD TO THE BRIDE AND GROOM SESSIONS.

We are absolutely obsessed with our wedding photos and videos! This team seriously brought their A-game and made our special day even more magical. From the start, they were super chill and easy to work with. On the big day, they were like ninjas, capturing every awesome moment without being in the way. They have such a knack for finding those perfect, candid shots that totally show the real us. Plus, the way they set up the posed photos. When we got our photos and the video, we couldn't stop smiling and laughing. They caught all the love, laughter, and even the crazy dance moves (hello, epic dance party!). The highlight reel was like a mini movie of the best day ever—we’ve already watched it a million times! The whole experience was just fun and stress-free, thanks to their good vibes and clear communication. They really listened to what we wanted and made sure we felt comfortable and relaxed. Thank you guys !

You know that all encompassing feeling when you’re revisiting a vivid memory? You can smell the fresh air, feel the way the sun hits your face just so, hear the voice of the loved one next to you, remember the joke that they delivered and instantly you’re laughing all over again. That magic is what I hope to capture as your photographer. It’s my job to hold those moments in time so that they don’t have to fade. You’ll forever be able to revisit the moment, see the exact way they smiled, revisit that incredible sunset, relive the memory and turn back time.

Jessica was truly amazing to work with for our wedding day. From the very first time we spoke, Jessica had a sweet and attentive communication style that immediately put us at ease. I remember after our first virtual meeting her even sending a little thank you gift for meeting with her. And she was so kind, she asked so many questions and seemed genuinely interested about us as a couple and about our dogs! I spoke with some other photographers who seemed to care less about us as people. Which is ultimately why we went with Jessica to begin with, she was just so nice and her pictures were amazing to top it all off. Her passion for her craft was evident in the beautiful, high-quality photos she captured. Also her photo package names were so great (THE STAR WARS - "I LOVE YOU, I KNOW”)! For our engagement shoot we suffered through some of the hottest, awful, sticky, July weather and she was positive the entire time, managed to get amazing shots and deal with our crazy dogs! Before the wedding, Jessica was always easily reachable, and very on the ball. And will always be your biggest cheerleader, anytime I posted anything on Instagram, Jessica would be there celebrating, she is truly a delightful and genuine person! And I think her run through of the wedding day was the first one I got and it was perfect! And she went to the venue a week before the wedding to scope out the absolute perfect spots to take photos! On the day of the wedding, Jessica was able to calmly get every picture perfect, meanwhile making silly dad jokes to help us feel more relaxed in front of the camera. She was amazing at trying to calm down our crying moms, and giving us some moments just to ourselves, listening to literally everything we said, and always making sure we were okay, all while getting amazing shots! And all of our guests loved her! We had people reaching out during and after the wedding to tell us how wonderful Jessica was. Everyone was obsessed with her, both of our mom, my sister, my bridesmaids, even the best man kept talking about how great she was, how amazing everything went, and how nice she was with everything! Meanwhile I am sure it was like trying to her cats to get some of the photos together, especially when we both wanted huge extended family photos, but she was positive and amazing through it all! Jessica went above and beyond on our special day, making sure everything was perfect. I am sure I even missing some of the little touches she added to our wedding. And we are so grateful to have had her as our wedding photographer. She says on her website “YOU CAN CALL ME JESS (SHE/HER). AKA YOUR NEW BEST FRIEND!” And that is honestly how I felt throughout the whole process, literally love her! And I mean the photos really speak for themselves, they are absolutely flawless!

We are so lucky to have had Anecdote Photography as our wedding photographers. From the moment we first spoke with them, their communication style was immediate, detail-oriented, friendly, and respectful. The quality of their work was flawless - the photos are beautiful and creative, and they had such an easygoing presence that put us at ease on our wedding day. Eddie, our lead photographer, was one of the best parts of our special day. He was extremely organized and helped lay out the timeline perfectly, and he was so thoughtful - he even had extra bobby pins on hand when my hair needed a touch-up, and he helped the groomsmen with their boutonnieres at the church. We cannot recommend Anecdote Photography highly enough - their attention to detail is impeccable, and they are truly wonderful to work with. Please consider them for your next event!

I believe love is love and happily photograph couples of all backgrounds, orientations, religions and gender expressions. I aim to create authentic and emotive images for my clients and edit true to color so the work will be timeless. My personality is friendly and warm, which helps make my couples feel at ease and open up in front of the camera. I donate $100 from every wedding day package to a non profit organization (either the ACLU, End the Backlog or the Triple Negative Breast Cancer Foundation) because I believe paying it forward in honor of love is an excellent first step into marriage.

Jenna was recommended to us by another photographer and it was such a pleasure to work with her! We greatly appreciated how much she wanted to know us and our personalities in advance of our wedding day. We ended every zoom call or email exchange feeling confident in our decision to work with her. The weather on our wedding day wasn’t very cooperative, but Jenna and team were on the lookout for any break in the rain so that we could go up to the roof and get a few pictures. And she totally nailed them—they are some of our favorite pictures from the day. Jenna and team made everyone feel comfortable in front of the camera and also captured some incredible candids. If you’re looking for a fun, positive, and easy-to-work with photographer—Jenna is the right pick!

A good friend of mine has said that my brand is to care. She isn’t wrong-my brand is one of caring because my being is one of caring. I’ve been a wedding photog for 14+ yrs. I find that being a wedding photog is a gift - I barely have the words to describe how special it feels to be invited into clients’ most momentous & intimate wedding moments over & over again. I’m a champion for the weird & whimsical, the fun & funky - even & especially on wedding days. Plan your day the way you want to, trends be damned. Let your wedding day reflect your joy. That’s what we’re all there to celebrate, anyway. ✨

We don't even know where to begin singing Erica's praises. When she says "Client Friend" she really means it. This is exactly how she treated us from our very first Zoom meeting with her. Not only is she an incredibly talented photographer, but she was such a source of calm and support all the way through the wedding planning process. When we had to find a new venue due to issues with the first one, Erica was so reassuring that it would all work out and she even offered to send me full galleries of all the venues we were considering. When I forgot to put my engagement ring on before our engagement shoot (!!!!) she encouraged us to go back for it and told us not to worry about the timing. And on our wedding day, the second she saw me start to get stressed during family portraits, she stepped in with the most perfectly timed pep talk. Not to mention, she and Amanda (another Sweet Alice team member) managed to make rain on our wedding day such a special adventure that I wouldn't trade it for sunshine even if I could! Erica is the most kind-hearted and thoughtful human and this shines through in everything she does. From the many little treats and gifts she sent us just-because, to her ability to make anyone feel comfortable in front of a camera... My husband and I are both very much not photo people, but ten minutes into our engagement shoot it felt like we were hanging out with an old friend. We heard this over and over again from our friends and family at the wedding too. AND THE PICTURES. Some of my favorites are the candids she took when I didn't even know she was shooting. We had such a lovely time re-living our wedding through the album she sent us. We both said that we were glad we didn't end up spending extra money on a videographer because your photos told the whole story of our day so beautifully! I can't emphasize enough how grateful we are that we found Erica- there is no one else we can imagine spending so much of our special day with. I plan to encourage everyone I know to try and book her for their weddings- if only so we can hang out with her again!

I started photographing weddings 9 years ago and was influenced by the two great passions in my life at the time: landscape photography and teaching. My love for both deeply influence my wedding photography because I find inspiration in both the natural setting of a wedding as well as special moments between people. When I document weddings I am in all places at once, constantly searching for great light to highlight beautiful settings as well as the heartfelt, emotional moments...your wedding day deserves to be documented in all its glory and beauty. When I have free time I love cooking, traveling, brewing beer, hiking, and running.

We are so happy with how all our photos turned out with Matthew! He was great from the beginning, having a call to better understand his style and how the day would go even before booking. Prior to the event he had a detailed questionnaire to complete to make sure all the photos we wanted were accounted for. Matthew was familiar with our venue and even went ahead of time to figure out the best spots to take photos. The day of was great as well! He gave great instruction and was very organized so we never had to worry about getting any photos. To top it all off the photos are amazing!! We were beyond impressed with the initial teasers and when we saw the whole album, it really is a work of art! We couldn’t be happier with how the photos turned out. Highly recommend!!

Cappy Hotchkiss Photography

I grew up in Amagansett, NY, one town away from Montauk, hanging out at the ocean, riding horses, and photographing my plastic Breyer horse models in different scenarios with my little crappy film camera, always searching for the perfect light. I have since moved on to photographing people with better equipment and I still always search for that perfect light. I now live in the lovely Hudson Valley after a long stint in NYC and Brooklyn where I trained under fashion and editorial photographers before starting my own photography business almost 20 years ago. Full disclosure, I'm a little scared of the ocean.

Cappy Hotchkiss Photography was an absolute delight to work with for our wedding. From the moment we first connected, their communication style was friendly, responsive, and clear. They took the time to understand our vision and made sure we felt at ease throughout the entire process. The quality of their work is truly exceptional - their photos have a nostalgic, natural, and emotional quality that perfectly captured the spirit of our special day. Cappy's skill and creativity shone through, even in the challenging backgrounds of our intimate venue in Greenport. They beautifully documented every moment, from the getting ready shots to the ceremony and reception. The final images are timeless, memorable, and absolutely perfect. We couldn't be happier with the results and highly recommend Cappy Hotchkiss Photography to any couple looking for an exceptional wedding photographer.

Portraits By Lisa Marie

5.0

  • Photojournalistic style

  • Serves Sugar Loaf, NY

As a natural light photographer, I have a deep love for capturing the most beautiful moments that life presents. My passion lies in preserving these precious memories through my lens. I strive to showcase the magic and authenticity found in everyday moments. Through my photography, I aim to create images that inspire and evoke emotions in those who view them.

Lisa was hands down one of my top vendors for my September 2024 wedding. Ultimately when booking vendors we had two non- negotiables- affordability and character. I met with several photographers before her and either their pricing was not within our range or I didn’t feel any “connection” with them. When I met Lisa over FaceTime I was in Target with my two toddlers because I had my schedule mixed up. She laughed about it and we were able to have a productive meeting despite the mix up. I hired Lisa not long after and I am so glad I did. Besides from being a phenomenal photographer, her personality is what put the cherry on top. She is detail oriented and assertive - like myself- and had a very efficient way of photographing our bridal party where we were even able to enjoy our cocktail hour without having a first look. She was excellent and extremely patient with our two kids. Our family loved her as did we! We were even able to get her out on the dance floor for a bit! We wish we didn’t live so far away otherwise we would be using her as our photographer a whole lot. Thank you Lisa for being such an important part of our day and for having such an incredible heart.

My clients describe me as caring, passionate about my work, and trustworthy. I am honored to feel like an extended member of the family when I'm photographing weddings! When I’m not working with amazing people, you'll find me hiking in the Hudson Valley, brunching with my girlfriends, or planning my next vacation (mostly likely on a beach somewhere). I'm obsessed with warm weather, family gatherings, and sunsets. When it's chilly out, you'll find me with a hot cocoa in hand. If there's music on, it's likely country or throwback 80s jams. ALL people and love stories are welcome here!

We love Debbie! Debbie has been such a pleasure to work with through our wedding process. Since our first meeting with her, Debbie made us feel super comfortable and at home, feeling more like a family friend more than just our photographer. She has a great knack for getting the best shots and captures authentic feeling in her photos. She was so good at helping us relax in our photos (which was great for me as a notorious camera-shy guy). Debbie will be our first call for any professional photography in the future and we 110% recommend her!

Rebecca has been working as a professional photographer for over 10 years. She began with a small film camera, taking photos at her favorite concerts. As she grew, so did her unique style and her passion. She attended the Academy of Art in San Francisco, Ca. and obtained a BA in Advertising Photography. Over the past 10 years she has had the opportunity to photograph events in places such as Portland, Or., San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Monterey, Ca., Washington DC, Florida and now New York City. She frequently travels for her photography and loves every moment.

Where do I begin... When I first started looking for a photographer I had a certain vision in mind. I didn't want the typical posed pictures for engagement/wedding pictures. I wanted someone whose work stood out and was unique. I emailed Becca as soon as I came across her work hoping she had our wedding date opened. She did! I think after like two emails back and forth I booked her, I knew she was the photographer for us, super chill and laid back. When we first met for our engagement pictures I was super nervous, my husband and I aren't photogenic at all, and personally I feel like pictures are awkward. Becca is a natural, I felt like I was hanging out with a long lost friend and she made us both feel beyond comfortable. She got our pictures back to us within a week and we were OBSESSED! Fast forward to our wedding day... Becca and her assistant Raven went above and beyond... No words can explain how happy we are with our albums. I can't wait for our future photo sessions together!

Hey! I'm Nina. I'm a pretty energetic and charismatic person that loves love and enjoys life. Documenting through photo is my favorite thing on this planet. I've been a professional photographer since 2016 but really I've been invested in photography since I was 15 years old. My love for documenting moments came from a desire to capture my own life and that of my friends using disposable cameras, flip phone cameras and point and shoot digital cameras on beach trips with friends. I have used writing, art, and photo to document my life and it is an incredibly special thing to be able to share that with my clients.

Awarded Best of Zola
I'd been following Nina Marin on Instagram for a number of years so once I got engaged, I knew exactly who to reach out to to capture my engagement shoot and elopement. As someone who cringes at being in front of the camera, she made me feel at ease and didn't hesitate to pose us or adjust our awkward hands/faces/etc. The pictures we got back felt like us — Nina was able to capture not only the visual aspects of our special day, but also the sheer bliss. I'm so grateful to have worked with such an easygoing and trustworthy photographer.

I like to find beauty in the balance between the shadows and the light. They are rarely inseparable. They are complex and totally opposite and yet they can not live without the other. Just like real connection. What is real is beautiful. Only love is real. Your wedding day is important. To you. To your families. To me. And I don’t take it lightly. I understand that you’ve never done this before and you may not even know where to start! Don’t worry- I got you!

Finding a good photographer was high on our priority list for vendors. We got married outside in the Catskill Mountains and as such we wanted a photographer capable of capturing the depth of the forest. After looking through Sam's portfolio we knew she was good, but after working with her and seeing her work firsthand we can say she's the best. Getting your photo taken can be awkward, especially given the high stakes of a wedding. But Sam is able to make you feel immediately comfortable while simultaneously taking the most stunning photos you'll ever see. We also had a connection session with her, which we would highly recommend so that you can know how she works - very fun and relaxed, but professional. Sam helped us outline the entire day of the wedding, and based on her knowledge the day went off without a hitch. We're so grateful she agreed to work with us!

Brea Warren Photo was an absolute dream to work with for our wedding! From the very beginning, Brea's photos that were romantic and whimsical, and it put us at ease and made the entire process so enjoyable. Her work is truly 1000000/10 - the photos she captured of our special day are beyond stunning. When we had to pivot to an indoor ceremony due to unexpected rain and fog, Brea rolled with the punches seamlessly and found a way to make the beauty of the weather shine through in the most gorgeous way. We also had the pleasure of doing engagement photos with Brea, and they were just as beautiful as the wedding day shots. Brea has been completely wonderful throughout the entire process, and we feel so lucky to have found her to document our love story.

My passion for photography started at a very young age. Polaroid,Kodak, disposable cameras anything I could get my hands on for as long as I can remember. After working for several years in photojournalism and editing I decided to make the switch to a full time wedding photographer in 2010. I haven’t looked back since. I love the rush and excitement of the wedding day. The ability to meet new people and travel new places. Every weekend I get to experience different families, friends, foods and cultures. It’s not a job it’s a gift. My gift in return to you is images I pour my heart and soul into.

I can't say enough good things about Meg. Not only was she just lovely to correspond with leading up to our engagement photos, but she did a PHENOMINAL job. She made us feel so comfortable and cute during our session, and her pictures came out AMAZING. She's the perfect photographer if you want natural, documentary style photographs that really just bring out your love and joy for each other. 10/10 would recommend!!

Hey there love! I’m Malyssa, the onewoman circus behind M Quay Photography. I fell in love with photography one morning while I was waiting at the bus stop. Since then I've been seeing the beauty in everything. I want to be the person who helps you see your inner beauty. As your wedding photographer, I want to be the person you come to freaking out about wedding planning, the person bring you water, hang out with your kiddos, and tell you that you are the bomb! I want to adventure with you. Truly, I just want to be your best friend. And maybe take some photos of you in the process.

Malyssa was so easy to work with. She made my now husband and I feel so comfortable when we first met and did engagement photos and was always there for us throughout the entire wedding planning process. I am so grateful to have met her because I will never use another photographer! Her shooting style is so awesome and she is always willing to do what the client wants too! Highly recommend!

Amanda is truly one of the sweetest humans I’ve had the pleasure of meeting! From our first call, it felt like we were old friends catching up. Amanda is incredibly professional and personable, and of course her work is absolutely gorgeous. We did an engagement session with Amanda a few months before the wedding which helped us get comfortable with her and allowed us to get to know her better. Aside from that, Amanda frequently checked in to make sure planning was going smoothly and was incredibly responsive when we had questions! On the wedding day, Amanda arrived early and I was so excited to see her and she instantly eased my anxiety. Throughout the day, Amanda calmed my nerves and was so supportive and helpful with anything that we needed! Amanda also made sure that she captured all of the specific shots that we requested and made sure she did not leaving without ensuring that we were happy! We cannot wait to see our photos!

My name is Lauren McCarthy. My parents, photographers Wendy & Charlie McCarthy began Weefan Photography in 2001. At 11, I started watching them photograph events and weddings, and the first wedding I photographed, just as I remember my first day of school. For the past fourteen years, I have mastered each and every job related to the wedding photography business. After graduating from Siena college in 2019, I was invited by my parents to manage our family's business of professional photography, and assume the duties of managing our New York Office.

Weefan was referred to us by my husband's best friend and I was not disappointed. Lauren was so amazing to work with from the moment I reached out to even after my wedding. She's very responsive and knowledgeable about the industry and it's different trends. The day of the wedding, Lauren and her team came in and took control. There wasn't one moment I was worried things weren't going to come out how I wanted them. They even stayed a little later to take a few extra family photos for us. When we got our sneak peeks back, I was absolutely in love! They were amazing and I cannot wait to receive the rest of our photos! If you're thinking of booking Weefan Photography, definitely do it. You will not be disappointed!

Hey there!! My name is Marilyn and I'm so glad you're here ♡ I am a couples + wedding photographer based in New York City, and happy to travel to wherever your day is at! I've had pink hair for the last 6 years so at this point it has become a personality trait and I'm 100% okay with it. I love the outdoors, pat every dog I can, and thrive on ben and jerry's. My ideal place to be would likely be frolicking in wildflowers in a dress that's way too long, but the longer the better. The patio of my NYC apartment with a good book is a close second favorite though, for sure.

I couldn’t say better things about Marilyn if I tried. She was the first photographer who’s portfolio we fell for in our search, and while trying to budget and explore other options, we made our way back to Marilyn and questioned why we ever even bothered looking anywhere else. We did a round of engagement photos with her first, after an initial zoom to meet and get to know her. From the zoom alone we could tell right away what kind of sweet, wonderful, magical person she was. I felt like I was talking to an old friend immediately. During our engagement shoot, which myself and my now husband were SO nervous for (we are both awkward and camera shy, and I don’t know how to stop running my mouth during photos because of it) she made us laugh SO many times and immediately melted our anxieties away. We knew we made the perfect choice in a person to take care of us on our wedding day in that moment. We have so far received our previews, and we are simply in love. Marilyn captured intimate moments, fun moments, and beautiful, emotional moments that helped us feel like we were reliving our day all over again. She guided us through the day, took us to the best spots, got the photos we asked for, all without either of us having to think about a single thing or logistic at any point. She was on it. She is and was such a treat and added the kindest most comforting attitude and energy to our day, and all of our family and bridal party agree along with us (we got quite a few “where and how did you find her??”s). We also added a second shooter via Marilyn (who was also sincerely lovely) for just one hour, during our pre-ceremony and ceremony, for a little extra coverage and timeline speed, and a roll of film which was so much fun too. If you love artistic and stylized photos, and are seeking someone with both a great eye and wonderful, calming presence, I mean it, look no further. We are so happy we found Marilyn.

In the 20 years that I've been photographing professionally, I’ve honed my skill of knowing when to step in and make things happen, and when to step back and simply *allow* things to happen. Documenting the REAL emotion of the day is how we capture those picture-perfect moments. They happen organically, not by force, and I promise you: we're not going to miss ANY of them. = )

Awarded Best of Zola
Christopher was SO much fun to work with throughout the entire process. From the engagement photos, the rehearsal dinner to the wedding itself, Christopher was there finding the best shots. His demeanor and communication style put us at ease and actually made the process fun! The quality (and quantity!) of the team's work was impressive and they managed to capture the most memorable and funny moments that we still get to relive to this day. Cannot recommend them highly enough!
