I started photographing weddings 9 years ago and was influenced by the two great passions in my life at the time: landscape photography and teaching. My love for both deeply influence my wedding photography because I find inspiration in both the natural setting of a wedding as well as special moments between people. When I document weddings I am in all places at once, constantly searching for great light to highlight beautiful settings as well as the heartfelt, emotional moments...your wedding day deserves to be documented in all its glory and beauty. When I have free time I love cooking, traveling, brewing beer, hiking, and running.

We begin by getting to know each other so that your photos fully reflect you and tell your unique story, and so that you feel more comfortable on your wedding day. As we progress through your planning process we work together and develop timelines so that all of your favorite people and moments are photographed. On your big day I am always there but never noticed to allow you to truly be in the moment. When it is time to pose, I use simple yet creative prompts because your photos should feel natural and "like you." Your photos will feel like authentic memories and will be treasured for a lifetime since I document your day as it truly happens.

Engagement Session or Surprise Proposal

Description

We will work together to find your ideal and most memorable location for an engagement session. We will work around your schedule to find a day about 6-12 months before your wedding. On the day of, we will spend about an hour to an hour and a half together and start to document your love story. Engagement pictures are typically more laid-back than your wedding day photos, so you can have fun and enjoy the day together while we also get creative!

    Matthew was phenomenal. From our first meeting through the end of our wedding, Matthew was calm, friendly, organized, and professional, and he worked well with everyone from our grandparents to our 3-year-old ringbearer . We felt at ease with him in control of our wedding photos and could not be happier with the results--absolutely beautiful photos that tell the complete story of our wedding. Highly recommend!

    We are so happy with how all our photos turned out with Matthew! He was great from the beginning, having a call to better understand his style and how the day would go even before booking. Prior to the event he had a detailed questionnaire to complete to make sure all the photos we wanted were accounted for. Matthew was familiar with our venue and even went ahead of time to figure out the best spots to take photos. The day of was great as well! He gave great instruction and was very organized so we never had to worry about getting any photos. To top it all off the photos are amazing!! We were beyond impressed with the initial teasers and when we saw the whole album, it really is a work of art! We couldn’t be happier with how the photos turned out. Highly recommend!!

    Highly highly highly recommend hiring Matt for engagement/wedding photos! Matt went to the proposal location ahead of time to scope it out, take photos, and determine the best precise spot based on background and lighting. With his research we put together a clear plan that went flawlessly - he truly went above and beyond. He gave us space to take in the moment and made us feel comfortable throughout the shoot. He has a background in nature photography and the natural beauty of the hudson valley is really pronounced in our photos, something we wanted. I think he went over the allotted time because he saw a brook last minute that made for some great photos. He gifted us a congratulatory bottle of champagne at the end of the shoot. He was a consummate professional from the jump and I am so glad he was recommended to us!
