Welcome to The Pearl of the Valley, an enchanting 125-acre estate in Sevierville, Tennessee. ​The barn has been built from the ground up by Craig Carpenter, his brother Timmy Carpenter and other family and friends. Many of the trees use to build the barn were harvested from their property and were prepared at their saw mill on site. The idea for a wedding venue began was a dream of their daughter, now Zimmerwald's Estate manager Katie Carpenter White. What began as a simple dream and a sketch on a piece of notebook paper, has now become a reality. We are extremely excited to be a place where beautiful family memories can be made and couples can begin their happily ever after!

The Inn, originally named Engadine by its builder, Civil War Captain John Keais Hoyt, is an 1885 Queen Anne-style Victorian home. Engadine is on the National Register of Historic Places and has been restored and decorated to maintain its Victorian character and charm. It was converted to an inn in 1994 and has operated as one ever since.

Hickory Nut Gap has a rich legacy of food, family, and community on a fifth-generation family farm that has been in the same family since 1916. Today, HNGF helps cultivate a new Appalachian movement that combines the richness of our unique Appalachian terroir with the historic craft-maker culture of the region. The historic Monte Vista Hotel is a key component to Black Mountain’s storied past. Originally home to the Cherokee people, this valley became an early pathway west for traders, explorers and people seeking a new life beyond the eastern mountains. The town of Black Mountain grew rapidly after the railroad was completed in the late 19th century, and this new “railroad town” needed more lodging. Lucien and Rosalie Phillips opened the Monte Vista in 1919, repurposing a former school building. In 1937, the current brick building was constructed, further cementing the Monte Vista Hotel as a central piece of Black Mountain’s civic and social life. The Annex, a separate structure located behind the original, was added in 1975. Though the hotel has since undergone complete renovations and new ownership, many of the original elements have been preserved, and the new decorative touches complement the look and feel of the original structure.
