Robert was a wonderful place to have a reception, with Kristi as a fantastic event manager and Richard as day-of coordinator. They were incredibly helpful and professional, and quick to answer all of our questions as the day came nearer and set up a tasting to help choose our menu. Also of course the space is beautiful, the decorations perfect, the views amazing, and the food absolutely delicious. We got many rave reviews from our guests of the food! They easily had an open bar, live piano, and cocktail hour with activities after dinner. They were very accommodating and helped us with table set up, activities, cake cutting, a screen for photos, and house music. Would strongly recommend it as a place to host any event as there were no hiccups at all. We are very glad we managed to snag it for our wedding!

In November of 2021, Gotham reopened with new owners for the first time since 1984. After closing for 18 months during the pandemic, Gotham came back with an updated name—trading “Bar and Grill” for “Restaurant”— a redesigned interior by its original architect James Biber, and a new menu with longtime former pastry chef Ron Paprocki in the role of executive chef. Historically decorated with an unprecedented six three-star New York Times reviews, Gotham’s new owners—former Managing Partner Bret Csencsitz and environmentalist Kevin Conrad—sought to honor this legacy while ushering Gotham into a greener, more mindful era. Filling the restaurant with books, music, and art to complement its world-class dining, Csencsitz’s stated goal is to make Gotham “the most meaningful restaurant in New York.” Arts and dining programming, from evening jazz to exclusive wine dinners, make Gotham a vibrant, ever-evolving destination like the city it calls home.

This is one of those questions that everyone will have a different answer to. The best time to get married in NYC really depends on your vision for your wedding. Is it when Central Park is a wonderland of cherry blossoms, or when the holiday lights make everything twinkle like a rom-com set? Weather-wise, May and June are your best bets for an outdoor wedding. But if you’re dreaming of an "Autumn in New York" aesthetic, aim for September or October when the air is crisp, and your guests won’t be sweating. But let's keep it real – in the city that never sleeps, love doesn't have an off-season, and neither do fabulous weddings. Winter nuptials? If you've set your heart on those prime dates or sought-after spots, earlier is definitely better. Think of it as your very own New York minute—the sooner you act, the more options you'll have. But if you're the spontaneous type or planning on a shorter engagement, don't fret!
