Beautiful 143 seat theater

The beautiful 143 seat theater at MAD incorporates Art Deco influences. The theater is the only space in the Museum restored to its original look including a custom gold lame, undulating mesh ceiling, bronze sconces and doors with neoclassical designs, and walnut walls. Host your wedding ceremony on the stage in front of your family and friends and then move upstairs to Robert for a cocktail reception followed by dinner and dancing.

    We hosted our Rehearsal/Welcome dinner at Robert. It is a wonderful space with amazing views of Columbus Circle. We wanted to give our guests a good NYC experience and Robert did not disappoint. On top of being a great space, the food was delicious. Everyone there was very easy to work with and made the night unforgettable! Highly recommend!

    Robert was a wonderful place to have a reception, with Kristi as a fantastic event manager and Richard as day-of coordinator. They were incredibly helpful and professional, and quick to answer all of our questions as the day came nearer and set up a tasting to help choose our menu. Also of course the space is beautiful, the decorations perfect, the views amazing, and the food absolutely delicious. We got many rave reviews from our guests of the food! They easily had an open bar, live piano, and cocktail hour with activities after dinner. They were very accommodating and helped us with table set up, activities, cake cutting, a screen for photos, and house music. Would strongly recommend it as a place to host any event as there were no hiccups at all. We are very glad we managed to snag it for our wedding!

    Working on events at Robert is always a pleasure. It has a striking decor and an unparalleled view of Columbus Circle and Central Park, and so we rarely need to add anything to make the room look great, and can focus purely on the more technical aspects of the event. Uniquely, it has an enormous and dramatic TV screen in the back that fits well into the decor if it's not being used, but can also be used for presentations of all kinds, and it has a nicely-balanced built-in sound system that makes our lives easier. It's not the largest of spaces, but it's very flexible and so we've still been able to cover a wide variety of events including multiple microphones, multiple TV screens, small stages, DJ's, and more. The team there is always excellent to work with, always looking to help ensure that everything fits exactly right, goes smoothly, and upholds the standards of quality that they are committed to.
