My wife and I recently celebrated our wedding at The View at Battery Park, and it was truly a flawless experience from start to finish. As someone who has been in the hospitality industry for many years, I have very high standards, and I can confidently say that every expectation was not just met but exceeded. The setting itself is beautiful, offering a perfect blend of elegance and charm that made our special day unforgettable. Our guests are still raving about how amazing everything was, and we couldn't agree more. The food was outstanding—each dish was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. Our guests kept coming up to us to rave about how much they enjoyed the meal. The service was equally impressive. The staff was attentive, professional, and made sure that every detail was taken care of. It was clear that they are not only experienced but also genuinely care about the experience they provide. A special thank you to Nikki Rizzo, the catering manager, who was an absolute pleasure to work with. Her attention to detail, organization, and warm personality made the entire planning process stress-free. She went above and beyond to ensure that our day was perfect, and it absolutely was. If you're looking for a venue that combines stunning views, exceptional food, and first-class service, look no further than The View at Battery Park. My wife and I couldn't be happier with our choice, and we highly recommend it to anyone planning a special event.

The Standard, East Village

4.0

New York, NY
  • Up to 50 guests

  • Indoor & outdoor

Located off Cooper Square in one of New York’s most vibrant, artistic neighborhoods, The Standard, East Village is cozy, charming, and eccentric in equal measure—very much in the spirit of its surroundings. You enter the 21-story tower through an original tenement-style building before ascending to unparalleled views of Manhattan from the hotel's crowned jewel, The Penthouse. There’s a quiet, calm garden tucked away at street level that in the warmer months is filled with lush topiaries and floral arrangements, and in the cold season transforms into a magical winter wonderland. On the second floor, The Overlook is a cozy room perfect for a rehearsal dinner or cocktails, connected to The Perch which overlooks The Garden. Downstairs, there's Narcissa restaurant, which boasts its own private terrace, the street-side Café Standard, and NO BAR, a highly inclusive new wave gay bar with custom artwork and a disco ball.

Why you'll love this venue

  • Exudes style
  • Has an intimate feel for a small guest list
  • Private area for the wedding party

Venue considerations

  • Lighting and sound are not included
  • Not wheelchair accessible
  • Better for more intimiate events
Having never been privy to what goes into a wedding reception, I was in the dark about a lot. So, I had difficulty understanding what to choose and how much our choices would cost. If it wasn’t for the close proximity to the church, I may have chosen a different venue for our reception. The food and beverage was the biggest expense and the biggest source of confusion. The real disappointment of the F&B was the limited amount of food. The shrimp appetizer was good. However, there was so little, if you didn’t grab some, it was gone. Of the three entrees to choose from, the only one that was any good was the fish and the portion was less than one would reasonably expect for an entree. The chicken was dry and hard, a huge disappointment. The lemon tart dessert was good. The space itself is very nice. Fortunately, it was just the right size for our reception.

We had the most wonderful experience having our wedding reception at Bryant Park Grill! As native NYCers, we wanted a venue that had an iconic NY feel and this certainly fit the bill. As an added benefit, it is very convenient to get to from basically anywhere in the city and is walking distance to a million hotels for out of towners. The food and setting are phenomenal (we still hear about it from our guests 5 months later). Our contact person leading up to the event, Kristi, was very responsive and worked with us to fit everything we wanted into the space, including integrating outside vendors seamlessly. Diane, who was our day-of coordinator/fairy godmother, anticipated all our needs and made it so we could focus on enjoying the day. Couldn’t recommend them highly enough!

We got married at the Picnic House in April 2024 and had a great experience! It's a beautiful space that you can do a lot with. We really appreciated both having both the flexibility of choosing amongst a variety of vendors, as well as the assurance that given their experience with the venue that they'd be easy to work with day of (which was true- we had a very smooth wedding day!). We really appreciated working with Caity, who was very responsive over email and quick to pick up the phone. Our only struggle was in acquiring our parking passes (that was really the mail's fault) and in getting some answers early on regarding external alcohol policies. And I would say be very careful in selecting your caterer, since they'll make or break your experience. But overall I would absolutely recommend the Picnic House to anyone! The price really can't be beat for what you're getting.
